Notes from PCG's Trumpet Weekly (2015)

Happy New Year everyone!

Continuing on from previous posts (2007-8, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014) let us continue surveying the articles within the issues of PCG's Trumpet Weekly.

It takes time and effort to understand world events. For many people struggling to make a living for themselves and their families it can be hard to make sense of the sometimes bewildering and complex events mentioned in the news media. PCG offers an answer.

PCG's answers are woefully wrong in many instances but the confidence in their answers that they presents to their readers and viewers is no doubt quite comforting and intriguing to many of them. Finally, they think, someone seems to understand what is happening. Having an complex web of interpretations offers a distinctive and marketable way for PCG to present and discuss news events. That is one of PCG's appeals.

But unfortunately for PCG's readers many of PCG's assertions are wrong or highly selective often leaning far to the right. Many of PCG's readers and viewers are unable to rebut what PCG says and consequently some are persuaded to join PCG and pay three tithes to them for the rest of their lives or as long as they remain members of PCG. Some of the details of what being a PCG means (three tithes, etc.) are not discussed in PCG's writings for the general public.

Sadly PCG seems to be getting even more partisan than it already was. There are hardly any references to left wing outlets in this year's issues of The Trumpet Weekly. If anything they seem to be reading such things even less than before.

Focusing on international affairs also makes it a lot easier for PCG's 1% to distract PCG members from addressing the problems within PCG. Why try to improve life within PCG if the whole is doomed to endure World War III in a decade or less? Why hold onto the money sent for the three tithes to PCG if scary Germans led by a German dictator and the Pope will soon conquer the United States?

Noticeable Articles

Among the noticeable articles here are:

PCG constantly condemning the Obama Administration's negotiations, and then its agreement, with Iran. If there is peace between the United States and Iran it will be that much harder to scare monger about Iran as PCG has been doing since Gerald Flurry's dogmatic proclamation in 1994 that Iran will be the King of the South. That is a false prophecy that will never be fulfilled. (It is never mentioned by PCG's writers in these issues under discussion that in 2003 Iran's Supreme Leader made a fatwa banning the possession of nuclear weapons as un-Islamic thus banning Iran from possessing nuclear weapons.)

PCG constantly condemning the protests against racism and police brutality that has occurred this year. Meanwhile in reality it turns out that there is no such thing as a "Ferguson effect". It is a disproved myth.

PCG fear mongering and vilifying the Houthis in Yemen while never foreseeing that a certain neighboring nation state that spends 700% more on military spending than Iran would unleash a ferocious and deadly bombardment of Yemen to crush the Houthis. Strangely there is little discussion of the humanitarian toll this deadly bombardment has inflicted on Yemen.

Richard Palmer insisting that the euro currency was designed to fail. (June 20 and July 4 issues.)

Callum Wood presenting the entire Middle East as a threat to Europe and incorrectly talking about Islam as though it were a unified, political force. (January 24 issue.)

Robert Morley bringing up a war that occurred 215 years ago in what is now Morocco to demonize Muslims today. Talk about holding a grudge. (March 7 issue.)

Jeremiah Jacques' pathetic attempt to condemn a report from the United Nations concerning the status of Palestinian women in land controlled by the State of Israel by citing how some women are in the Knesset, that Golda Meir was Prime Minister and that the head judge of the Israeli Supreme Court is a woman. Most women, like most men, are not in such prestigious roles. (March 21 issue.)

The title of one Trumpet Daily episode absurdly insinuates that the United States is on better terms with Iran than the State of Israel. The United States pays 20% of the State of Israel's military expenditure. Iran does not even have a US Embassy. (April 4 issue.)

Jeremiah Jacques exploiting a perfectly innocent and compassionate comment from Pope Francis about the Holocaust to demonize the Papacy. (June 27 issue.)

Jeremiah Jacques complaining that not enough Americans are enlisting to join the armed forces of the United States. This is hypocritical considering that PCG forbid their followers from serving in the armed forces. (August 1 issue.)

Callum Wood demonizing Pope Francis as an anti-American Communist collaborator for his encouragement of the normalization of relations between the United States and Cuba. He also whitewashes the 1954 coup in Guatemala. (September 19 issue.)

Joel Hilliker petulantly calling President Obama a law breaker. (October 10 issue.)

Jeremiah Jacques scare mongering about pharmaceutical drugs. (November 28 issue.)

Right Wing News Sources

Also PCG's liking for right wing media sources was constantly on display once again this year.

Arutz Sheva's articles are quoted in the June 6, June 20, August 1, August 8, August 22, August 29 (twice), September 19, October 24 and November 28 (twice) issues. Arutz Sheva is a right wing media outlet marketed towards national religious Israeli Jews. It is closely associated with the settlers in the West Bank. PCG has never criticized Arutz Sheva to my knowledge.

The Washington Times' articles are quoted in the March 21, August 22, October 10 and November 14 issues. The Washington Times is a far right wing newspaper that was founded by a certain controversial religious group that originated from Korea. PCG has never criticized The Washington Times to my knowledge.

WorldNetDaily's articles are quoted in the June 6, August 29, September 26 and October 24 issues. WorldNetDaily is a far right media outlet often characterized as being far to the right. It is well known for having promoted birtherism, the disproved idea that President Obama was not born in the United States and therefore has no right to be President. PCG has never criticized WorldNetDaily to my knowledge.

I do not criticize PCG for being right wing but it is important to note that they are right wing as this explains so much about the political stances PCG's 1% choose to adopt for themselves.

Let us begin.

***

January 3: "Falling Oil Prices Impact a Lot More Than Your Wallet" by Robert Morley. After fear mongering for years that oil was just going to get more and more expensive the price of oil went down. In response PCG's leaders decided to scare monger that lower oil prices are a bad thing.

"Will Palestinians Control East Jerusalem in 3 Years?" by David Vejil. Once again PCG exploits the tragic situation in the Holy Land to make their readers think the end times are just around the corner.

"Iran Flexes Military Muscle With Drill Near Strait of Hormuz" by David Vejil. Once again PCG vilifies Iran this time exploiting a military exercise. What a surprise. A sovereign nation making sure its army performs properly. Who ever heard of such a thing?

"Russia Brings Navalny Verdict Forward" by Jeremiah Jacques. The trial of Russian dissident Navalny is here used to scare monger against Putin. PCG teaches that Putin is destined to be the Prince of Rosh mentioned in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

January 10: "Why Did Pope Francis Push for a U.S.-Cuba Thaw?" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques condemns Pope Francis' role in helping to re-establish diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba. It is insinuated that if Pope Francis had not intervened at that moment then the Castro regime would have collapsed. Considering what happened in the 1990s that seems most unlikely.

"Report: ‘Geopolitics Is Back’ for 2015" by Jeremiah Jacques. A report from the Eurasia Group is cited to insist that the world is about to become more turbulent because of US weakness.

"Anti-Muslim Backlash to Erupt After Paris Massacre?" by David Vejil. Here Vejil speculates that an anti-Muslim backlash could occur in France because of the massacre of seventeen innocent people in a wave of terrorist attacks inspired by Al Qaeda's miserable lackeys in Yemen. It is insinuated that the xenophobic right will rise to power in Europe before the creation of the European Empire fated to conquer America.

"Japanese Youth Abandon Traditional Relationships for Virtual Girlfriends" by Andrew Müller. Here Müller discusses how some Japanese people are substituting virtual characters for real life girlfriends. Unfortunately PCG has a long history of demonizing Japan.

"GDP Grows at Record Pace: Here’s What They Didn’t Tell You by Robert Morley. Here Morley insinuates that although the US' GDP has reached record pace of growth such good news are not to be believed.

January 17: "Netanyahu Requests Europe’s Help to Fight Terrorists" by Kiall Lorenz. Here Lorenz exploits a speech by Prime Minister Netanyahu about the terrorist attacks in Paris to assert that the State of Israel will soon ally with Europe in a future alliance in which the State of Israel is to be betrayed by the future European Empire.

"Islamic State Expands to Afghanistan and Pakistan" by Callum Wood. Here Wood discusses how some rebel factions in Afghanistan have decided to pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr al Baghdadi.

"Israel: Palestinians ‘Started Legal Warfare’ by Joining ICC" by David Vejil. Here Vejil mentions the State of Israel's condemnation of the State of Palestine's application to join the International Criminal Court.

"Vladimir Putin’s Judo Comrade Will Construct a Bridge to Crimea" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions that a friend of Putin has won the contract to construct a bridge connecting Russia with the Crimea.

"Boko Haram Massacres Thousands" by Callum Wood. Here Wood mentions that the foul terrorists of Boko Haram had massacred about 2000 people in Baga.

January 24: "Middle East: The Greatest Threat to Europe Since the Cold War" by Callum Wood. Disturbingly Wood describes the threat as "Islam" itself thus falsely presenting the Islamic religion as a single, unified political force. It is incorrect to portray Islam as a unified, political force. It is incorrect to confuse a highly varied religion with a unified, political force. This was written in the wake of terrorist attacks in Paris in which 17 innocent people including a Muslim police officer were murdered by sympathizers of Al Qaeda's miserable lackeys in Yemen and the murderous criminal usurper Abu Bakr al Baghdadi.

(Ironically from July 19 till August 2, 2015 the marketing manager for PCG's Armstrong International Cultural Foundation went on a visit to Turkey as a guest of an NGO connected with a prominent imam from Turkey who currently lives in self imposed exile in the United States. This was mentioned in a previous post.)

"Iranian General Killed by Israeli Airstrikes" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe mention that an Israeli military airstrike had killed an Iranian general in Syria.

"Cyberespionage: How China Benefits From U.S. Technology" by Callum Wood. Here Wood fear mongers that China is acquiring military expertise from the United States for its own benefit.

January 31: "Swiss Franc Soars, Euro Plummets— World Wonders if the EU Is Doomed" by Robert Morley. Here Morley discusses the Swiss Franc being no longer pegged to the euro. It is insinuated that this move could have led to a crisis similar to what happened in 2008.

"Yemen: Divided" by Callum Wood. As the Houthis began to gain greater power within the turbulent situation in Yemen PCG was fear mongering about the Houthis in order to portray their rise as a sign of Iran gaining greater regional power. Little did they know that a neighboring nation that spends 700% more on military spending than Iran would soon launch a most severe and deadly air campaign against Yemen to crush the Houthis.

"Russian Military to Exercise in Baltic and Kaliningrad" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions Russia conducting naval exercises.

February 7: "Socialist ‘Paradise’ Faces Collapse" by Robert Morley. Here Morley mentions the widespread shortages within Venezuela. This article is possibly an attempt to insist that leftist attempts to manage the economy are inherently doomed to failure.

"Russia and China Dance Across Latin America" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques talks about Russia and China making various investments within Latin America. It is insinuated that Russia and China's influence within Latin America will prompt Europe to respond and try to wrest control over Latin America away from Russia and China.

"Russia-India-China cooperation grows" (Anonymous PCG writer). This little article mentions a meeting between government officials of China, Russia and India. It says they called for the creation of a "new world order" and have created a "trilateral commission" to manage affairs among themselves.

"Britain’s Dying Romance With Europe" by Daryle Hochstetler. Here Hochstetler insinuates that Britain will soon leave the European Union.

February 14: "Is Angela Merkel Germany’s Chamberlain?" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer presents Chancellor Merkel as "appeasing" Putin and negatively compares her with Prime Minister Chamberlin.

"Iran Now Controls Four Middle Eastern Capitals" by Robert Morley. Morley insinuates that Iran will soon gain control of Egypt and Libya.

"Rise of the New Persian Empire" by Callum Wood. Here Wood mentions some of the various groups that are aligned with Iran. It is insinuated that Iran would try to take over Libya. PCG had no idea that soon afterwards a neighboring nation that spends 700% more money on military spending than Iran would soon launch a ferocious and deadly bombardment of Yemen in an attempt to crush the Houthis.

"Russians More Than Twice as Happy Now, Despite Economic Woes" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques exploits a poll to assert that Russians are as a whole happier despite the sanctions imposed on Russia over its annexation of the Crimea and support for secessionist rebels in eastern Ukraine.

February 21: "Seduced by Fifty Shades of Grey" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker condemns Fifty Shades of Grey. This article was mentioned in a previous post.

"Islamic State in Libya: An Opportunity for Egypt?" by Callum Wood. Here Wood mentions the execution of 21 Christians by ISIL's affiliate group in Libya and subsequent retaliatory bombing by Egypt. It is asserted that Egypt might be soon taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood and ally itself with Iran. PCG has constantly taught since the 1990s that Egypt is fated to be taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood and ally with Iran.

"The Islamic State Takes on Egypt, Threatens Rome" by David Vejil. After Egypt's bombing ISIL's affiliate in Libya took 20 Egyptians hostage. It is insinuated that the terrorists' insurgency will soon cause Europe to conquer the Middle East.

"Social Breakdown: Massive Mob of Teens Rushes Orlando Movie Theater" by Robert Morley. Here Morley exploits a riot in Ocoee, Florida to fear monger that American society will soon collapse.

February 28: "No More Taboos for the German Army" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer exploits the German government's decision to send 100 soldiers to train Iraqi Kurds as a sign that Germany is becoming more militaristic.

"Mayor of Jerusalem Takes Down Terrorist" by Brent Nagtegaal. Here Nagtegaal mentions how Nir Barkat tackled a Palestinian who was planning to commit violence in Jerusalem. It is mentioned to denigrate President Obama's handling of foreign policy. PCG is viciously partisan against the Democratic Party.

"Israel Kept in the Dark During Nuclear Talks" by Callum Wood. Here Wood condemns the Obama Administration for not telling the Israeli government "every minute detail" of the agreement being negotiated with Iran regarding its nuclear program.

This issue contains an article from The Nation, a left wing news source. Although PCG leans far to the right they sometimes quote left wing news sources.

This issue also contains an article from Israel Hayom. Israel Hayom is a right wing Israeli newspaper heavily funded by Las Vegas casino mogul, Sheldon Adelson. Currently it is the most popular newspaper in Israel not least because it happens to be free. At least one Israeli columnist has characterized it as serving as Netanyahu's mouthpiece.

March 7: "Lies About Islam and Destroying America From Within" by Robert Morley. Virulently Islamophobic article that accuses President Obama of being a liar for trying to talk to Muslims in a cordial manner. Morley also brings up the Barbary Wars of 1798-9 to vilify Muslims as some sort of eternal enemy of the United States. It is asserted that President Obama is empowering those who wish to destroy America. This article was mentioned in a previous post.

"Vatican: The Islamic State’s Threats Against Pope Are Real" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques cites the Pope's chief of security saying he takes the threats made by ISIL against Rome seriously. Of course he would. That is his duty as bodyguard to the Pope.

"Netanyahu: The Last Defense Against a Deal With Iran" by Callum Wood. Here Wood describes in glowing terms Netanyahu's opposition to making a deal with Iran. Or rather the last defense to prevent a treaty between the United States and Iran that would make it harder to PCG to scare monger about Iran.

"Russia Is ‘Pulling a Crimea’ in Georgia" by Jeremiah Jacques. Back when the Soviet Union was dissolved two provinces of Georgia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, seceded and became de facto independent while maintaining close relations with Russia. Ever since Georgia has called for the two provinces to be returned. War broke out over this border dispute in 2008. This is a long running issue but here Jacques exploits the signing of an agreement between Russia and South Ossetia and fearfully portrays it as part of an attempt to annex it for Russia.

"U.S. Downgrades Britain’s Military" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer cites an interview to say that the US military expects Britain to only be able to mobilize about half as many soldiers as it could previously.

"Britain’s Biggest Problem Is Not the EU" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer talks about how Britain's euro skeptics wonder how they can convince the British public to vote against EU membership.

"Stoners Rejoice—It’s 4/20 in Washington, D.C." by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques condemns the legalization of marijuana possession in Washington, D.C. It is presented as a sign that the United States is falling apart.

March 14: "Europe Rethinks Its Military After Ukraine Confrontation" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer exploits statements by various EU officials to insinuate that the EU will soon create a common European army.

"Syria’s Moderate Rebels Defeated" by Callum Wood. Here Wood discusses the violent suppression of the Hazzm movement by the Al Qaeda's armed wing in Syria, Jabhat al Nusra in Aleppo, Syria. This battle is mentioned in order to portray the Obama Administration as weak and inept regarding the Syrian Civil War. Elsewhere PCG teaches that the United States will soon collapse and be destroyed by a German led European Empire. Following this violent suppression the remnants of the Hazzm movement proceeded to reorganize themselves in other organizational forms.

"What Will Happen to Iran When Khamenei Dies?" by David Vejil. Here Vejil mentions the appointment of Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi as chairman of the Assembly of Experts, the body entrusted to choose the successor Supreme Leader of Iran. This appointment is used to fear monger about Iran once again.

"Could America Catch Iran Building Nuclear Weapons?" by Callum Wood. Here Wood cites how India, Pakistan and North Korea acquired nuclear weapons to fear monger that the United States is unable to stop Iran from making a nuclear weapon. The answer is yes but PCG wants to scare monger about Iran so they will insinuate that the United States will be unable to do such a thing.

This issue also contains a non-PCG article insisting that the Justice Department's damning report about the Ferguson Police Department is nonsense. Oh how good it must be to live in an information bubble one like to be in. But such a charm is unrealistic. The chilling report was mentioned in a previous post.

March 21: "Netanyahu Wins Israeli Election" by Brent Nagtegaal. Here Nagtegaal insinuates that relations between the United States and the State of Israel will deteriorate during the remainder of President Obama's term. It is also asserted that only a right wing government in the State of Israel will move prophecy forward. Naturally PCG was quite pleased to see Netanyahu return to power in the State of Israel. PCG leans far to the right so of course they want a right wing government in power in the State of Israel and elsewhere.

"Saudi Arabia and Egypt Drift Apart" by Daryle Hochstetler. Here Hochstetler asserts that the Saudi Arabian government is seeking closer ties with Turkey thus causing Egypt to become more distant and disillusioned with Saudi Arabia. It is insinuated that Egypt will later ally with Iran while Saudi Arabia and Turkey will form a rival pro-European alliance against Iran.

"Tikrit: Iran’s Strategy in Iraq" by Callum Wood. Here Wood discusses the liberation of Tikrit by Iraqi forces. This hard won victory is exploited to fear monger that Iran is rising to power.Wood cites the involvement of the Popular Mobilization Forces to portray it as a victory for Iran.

"Putin’s Nuke Talk Worries European Leader" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques exploits an interview of President Putin discussing how he was prepared to place Russia's nuclear arsenal in a state of readiness over the Crimea crisis. It is insinuated that these acts are fated to prompt the unification of Europe.

March 28: "America’s Alice-in-Wonderland Economy" by Robert Morley. Here Morley once again insists that the US economy will soon collapse.

"Can You Guess Which Nation the UN Condemned for Women’s Rights Violations?" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques condemns a report by the United Nations' Commission on the Status of Women that condemned the treatment of Palestinian women by Israeli authorities. Jacques objects that there are so many women in the Knesset, that Golda Meir got to be Prime Minister, that the head judge of the Supreme Court is a woman. The state of ordinary Palestinian women in land controlled by the State of Israel is ignored. Not every women is a Knesset member or a Prime Minister or a judge. PCG's leadership cannot bring themselves to admit that the State of Israel has problems like any other country.

"EU Foreign Policy Chief Visits Cuba" by Daryle Hochstetler. Here Hochstetler exploits a visit by a EU foreign policy official to fear monger that Europe will somehow get entrenched in Latin America. It is sometimes insinuates that Latin America will ally with Europe and work to bring about the United States' destruction.

"Chinese Building Island Forts in the South China Sea" by Callum Wood. Here Wood discusses China's construction of artificial islands in the South China Sea in order to fear monger about China.

This issue contains an Associated Press article entitled "Saudi Arabia, Allies Open Air Campaign Against Yemen Rebels". Saudi Arabia was beginning its air campaign to crush the Houthis. PCG completely failed to see such a development.

April 4: "Boycott Indiana? What Next?" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker condemns a boycott against Indiana made in protest against a law widely perceived to be discriminatory against homosexuals. The boycott is portrayed as an attack against religious liberty.

"Saudi Arabia Launches Airstrikes in Yemen" by Callum Wood. Here Wood mentions the launch of Saudi Arabia's bombardment against Yemen in order to crush the Houthis and restore the government of Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi Blood has fallen plentifully since then due to the Saudi airstrikes. May peace soon come to Yemen.

"America Is Now on Better Terms With Iran Than It Is With Israel" by Stephen Flurry (Trumpet Daily). What utter nonsense. This is not true. Does the United States pay 20% of Iran's military expenditure? Of course not. But that is what the United States does for the State of Israel.

"The Fourth Reich Is Here, Says German Newsmagazine" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer exploits a Der Spiegel article to assert that Germany is quite powerful economically. PCG teaches that Germany will soon arise as a fourth Reich that will soon destroy America and Britain.

"Russia Arming Argentina to Enable Grab of Falkland Islands?" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions Russia's leasing of twelve fighter jets to Argentina. It is insinuated that Argentina may soon attack to seize the Falkland Islands. Never mind that the State of Israel has sold 18 fighter jets to Argentina. That does not fit PCG's false prophecies so such contrary information is ignored.

"Blowback: China’s New Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank" by Robert Morley. Here Morley fear mongers about the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in order to scare monger about China. Britain and Australia's application to join is portrayed as blowback for President Obama's supposed poor treatment towards Britain.

"The Real Star Wars" by Gerald Flurry (The Key of David). Here Flurry exploits the popular memory of Star Wars to try and recruit more tithes paying followers for his PCG. A related booklet was discussed in a previous post.

April 9: "Past Month a Radical Turning Point for U.S. Economic Power" by Robert Morley. Here Morley cites a man widely blamed for leading the world into the Great Financial Crisis of 2007-8 by helping to abolish the Glass-Steagel Act to scare monger about the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. It is ludicrously asserted that "almost every major country in the world is broke" which is completely wrong and in error.

"Egypt and the Yemen Conflict" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions Egypt's aid in the anti-Houthi campaign led by Saudi Arabia. It is insinuated that things will go badly for Egypt leading Egypt to switch sides and align with Iran. PCG teaches that Egypt is fated to ally with Iran in the future.

"Vatican Warning: Don’t Be Pontius Pilate" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe mentions an address Pope Francis made in response to Al Shabaab's terrorist attack against Garissa University in Kenya murdering 130 people while targeting Christians.

"Paul Krugman Says America Doesn’t Have Enough Debt" by Robert Morley. Because Morley was never educated about economic matters he does not understand what is happening with the economy. It is not understood that per capita the United States actually had a higher level of federal debt compared with the size of the economy back in the 1940s because of World War II. This article was mentioned in a previous post. For more information about this topic see Stephen Flurry Condemns Obama Administration's Foreign Policy—Is He Right?

"Britain Faces Most Uncertain Election Ever" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer insinuates that Britain might get a weak coalition government after the election. To widespread surprise the Conservative Party regained power and did not even need the Liberal Democrats to be in power. PCG did not foresee that.

"Australia Is Addicted to Ice" by Callum Wood. Here Wood discusses the widespread illegal use of crystal methamphetamine in Australia.

"California Mandates Unprecedented Water Restrictions" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe mentions the State of California's attempt to make a 25 per cent reduction in the use of water in response to the severe drought.

April 18: "Literally and Littorally, China Is Gaining Ground" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions China's construction of artificial islands in the South China Sea and lambaste the supposed weakness of President Obama in supposedly not standing up against China regarding this matter.

"Russia Lifts Ban on Missile Sales to Iran" by David Vejil. Here Vejil fear mongers about Russia removing a ban against S-300 missiles to Iran.

This issue also contains a non-PCG article condemning attempts by the Australian government to get more Australians to get vaccinated.

April 24: "America’s SWIFT Road to Economic Destruction" by Robert Morley. Here Morley fear mongers about the introduction of the China International Payment System, a mechanism for buying and selling with the Chinese Renminbi.

"Why the Trumpet Monitors Japan’s March Away From Pacifism Toward Militarism" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques asserts that Japan is moving away from pacifism. This article seeks to justify PCG's long history of demonizing Japan. This article was discussed in a previous post.

"Russia and Iran: Buying Guns, Making Bombs" by Daryle Hochstetler. Here Hochstetler mentions Russia's sale of S-300 missiles to Iran and asserts that it is hypocritical in light of Russia's opposition to the establishment of missile systems in eastern Europe.

"Time for the World to Abolish Cash?" by Robert Morley. Here Morley mentions a suggestion by an economist to abolish cash in order to get people to spend and keep the transfer of money flowing.

May 2: "Shaken: Why the Nepal Earthquake Happened" by Phillip Nice. Here Nice talks about the earthquake in Nepal. Nice asserts that natural disasters are PCG's God's attempt to communicate with humanity. The fact that earthquakes are caused by the shifting of the tectonic plates is minimized.

"Iran Accused of Massive Cyberattack on Turkey" by Robert Morley. Here Morley mentions a power blackout in Turkey that was blamed on a cyberattack by Iran in retaliation for Turkey's support for the anti-Houthi campaign and opposition to the Assad regime.

"Nepal Earthquake Death Toll: 5,000 and Rising" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions interviewing a survivor of the earthquake in Nepal. The death toll was later found to be over 9000.

"Shinzo Abe: First Japanese Prime Minister to Ever Address Joint Session of Congress" by Robert Morley. Here Morley mentions Prime Minister Abe's address to a joint session of Congress.

"In Dangerous Departure From Pacifism, Japan Revises Defense Guidelines" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions that Japan had removed a requirement that their armed forces could only be used to defend Japanese territory. Now the Japan's armed forces may be used to protect allies anywhere. This is portrayed as a shift towards militarism by Japan. PCG has a long history of demonizing Japan.

May 9: "Shock Conservative Victory in UK Election" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer discusses the Conservative Party's victory in the election.

"Russian Fighter Jet Intercepted Over Baltic With Transponder Off" by Albert Clarke. Here Clarke mentions the interception of a Russian plane that had its transponder off which hides its identity from radar.

"China, EU Celebrate Four Decades of Relations" (Anonymous PCG article). It is insinuated that increasingly close relations between Europe and China are a bad thing. PCG teaches that Europe is fated to conquer the United Sates just before Christ's return. It is disregarded that the United States also has had relations with China for the same amount of time.

"President Gave 195,900 Criminally Convicted Illegals a Free Pass" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here it is asserted that President Obama is quite friendly towards illegal immigrants and it is asserted that the Department of Homeland Security releases criminals into society. Actually more people have been deported under President Obama than any other President. But PCG's favor towards the right and partisan contempt for the left blinds PCG's leaders to this fact.

May 16: "Why Is the Pope Provoking War in Israel?" by Brad MacDonald. Here MacDonald exploits the Papacy's recognition of the State of Palestine to fear monger that this will lead to the establishment of Palestinian statehood and unleashing the Great Tribulation onto the world. In at least one way it reads in a quite similar way to how Christians United For Israel condemned relations between the Papacy and the Palestinian Authority. This article was mentioned in a previous post.

"Will Russia Drive Egypt and Saudi Arabia Apart?" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques tries to explain away Egypt's cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the anti-Houthi campaign in Yemen will later come to an end. Elsewhere PCG teaches that Egypt and Saudi Arabia will belong to rival alliances. Here Jacques presents the possibility that Egypt's relations with Russia may cause Saudi Arabia to break away from Egypt.

"Arab Nations Fear Iran Action, U.S. Inaction" by Callum Wood. Here Wood says the Arab nations aligned with Saudi Arabia fear Iran and do not trust the United States to support them should Iran attack. Elsewhere PCG teaches that Saudi Arabia will be part of a pro-Europe, anti-Iran alliance that PCG calls "the Psalm 83 nations."

"Russia and China Vow Not to Hack Each Other" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions the signing of an agreement between Russia and China regarding cybersecurity on May 8. PCG teaches that Russia and China will be allied together just before Christ's return.

"Cuban President Tells Pope He May Return to Catholicism" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques exploits a friendly meeting between Pope Francis and President Raul Castro to insinuate that the Papacy and Cuba will be common enemies against the United States during the Great Tribulation.

"Moody’s Cuts Chicago Bond Rating to Junk Status" by Robert Morley. Here Morley exploits a downgrading of Chicago's bonds to insinuate that more financial strife is ahead for America.

"Officer Morale Low After Justice Department Persecution" (Anonymous PCG article). Here it is asserted that police officers are being persecuted and are subjected to a witch hunt by federal authorities. PCG has consistently opposed and denigrated the protest movement against police brutality directed at African Americans.

May 23: "‘A New Beginning’ for Soon-to-Be Nuclearized Middle East" by Aaron Hudson. Here Hudson denounces the Obama Administration's ultimately successful attempt to make an agreement with Iran. It is asserted (with little evidence) that President Obama's 2009 speech in Egypt somehow contributed to the current turbulent situation. This ignores the fact that the Middle East was nuclearized when the State of Israel made nuclear weapons as is well known.

"Okinawa Governor Presses U.S. for Total Removal of Military Base" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions that the governor of Okinawa has called for the removal of US military bases. This has been a long standing issue in Okinawa.

"Strong Dollar Pounding Economy as Trade Deficit Soars" by Robert Morley. Here Morley insists that American's refusal to behave according to PCG's dogmas is the cause of America's economic problems.

The article contains the following sentence.
How has building state-of-the-art schools in inner cities worked?
The phrase "inner city" is sometimes used as a code word for African Americans.

May 30: "Palmyra: A Milestone in the Islamic State War" by Callum Wood. Here Wood discusses the fall of Palmyra to Abu Bakr al Baghdadi's lackeys. Elsewhere PCG teaches that the Assad regime will fall and Syria will ally with Saudi Arabia as one of "the Psalm 83 nations," a pro-Europe, anti-Iran alliance. PCG has only taught this doctrine of "the Psalm 83 nations" since 2011. This article was mentioned in a previous post.

"Vladimir Putin and the Boy Who Cried Wolf" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques fear mongers that Russia is preparing to invade Ukraine.

This issue quotes an article from Press TV, a media outlet closely linked to Iran. PCG has quoted Press TV on several occasions. Because of its close association with Iran Press TV has some unusual characteristics. One of which is its promotion of 9/11 conspiracy theories. Strangely enough PCG has to my knowledge never mentioned Press TV's promotion of 9/11 conspiracy theories.

June 6: "President Obama’s Remarkable Defense of the Iran Nuclear Deal" by Joel Hilliker and Aaron Hudson. Here Hilliker and Hudson condemn the eventually successful negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program. A related discussion from PCG's radio show, The Trumpet Hour, was discussed in a previous post.

"Why Would Assad Support the Islamic State?" by Callum Wood. Here discusses reports that the Assad regime's air force had aided advances by Abu Bakr al Baghdadi's lackeys against other anti-Assad militias north of Aleppo. This article was mentioned in a previous post.

"China Deploys Surveillance Ships to Waters off Hawaii" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions a report from a Japanese newspaper that a Chinese submarines head to Hawai'i in retaliation against the United States' opposition against China's border claim in the South China Sea.

"Invade, Wait—and Invade: The New Outbreak of Violence in Ukraine" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques exploits reports of renewed fighting in eastern Ukraine to fear monger that Putin is very clever and seeks to advance militarily through successive waves of violence.

"Socialist Fail: Why Can’t Poor People Find Homes?" by Robert Morley. Here Morley discusses the housing shortage in Venezuela to say that socialism does not work. Considering how partisan PCG is it is reasonable to assume that this article is used to condemn the American left as well.

June 13: "Chaos Reigns in St. Paul Schools" by Robert Morley. Here Morley fear mongers that schools in Saint Paul are lacking in discipline and that students are running amok without proper supervision. It is seems to be directed at African Americans.
Back in November, former Minneapolis Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson announced that black students would no longer be suspended or expelled for the same violations as whites and Asians. Because black students in Minneapolis schools are 10 times more likely than white and Asian students to be suspended, any proposed suspension would be personally reviewed by Johnson and she would decide if the student really should be expelled—which meant that unless that student practically killed someone, they would stay in the classroom.
"Iran Nuclear Stockpile Grows" by Callum Wood. Here Wood says that Iran had increased its stockpile of enriched uranium during the ultimately successful negotiations with the United States about its nuclear program. This is cited to insist that Iran will not abide any agreement. If there should be peace between the United States and Iran it will be harder for PCG to fear monger against Iran as they have done since 1994. That is one reason PCG stridently opposed the agreement.

June 20: "Why Europe Won’t Let Greece Go" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer asserts that the euro was designed to fail in order to compel the governments of EU member states to unite as a superstate.

"Iran’s Tightening Stranglehold of Afghanistan" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe cites a Wall Street Journal article to say that Iran has been sending increasing amounts of military equipment to the Taliban despite the negotiations with the United States. It is stated that Iran has increased aid to the Taliban in order to counter the United States and Abu Bakr al Baghdadi's lackeys in Afghanistan.

"Pope Calls for New World Government" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer presents Pope Francis' encyclical about climate change, Laudato Si, as a call for some scary one world government.

"Has the U.S. Just Suffered a ‘Cyber Pearl Harbor’ at China’s Hands?" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques fear mongers about a massive theft of data concerning the personal details of US government employees. It is insinuated that China may have done this hacking.

A non-PCG article describes NATO moving forces into Poland to reassure eastern European allies. It mentions German tanks rolling into Poland.

With this issue PCG's Trumpet Weekly began including links to broadcasts of PCG's radio show, The Trumpet Weekly, which was started with the establishment of PCG's radio station, KPCG.

June 27: "Are These the Most Insane Negotiations in History?" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker condemns the negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program. It is insisted that there is no good faith on the Iranian side.

"War Drums: Gazprom’s Dangerous New Nord Stream Gas Pipeline to Germany" by Robert Morley. Here Morley condemns the agreement to construct an oil pipeline from Russia to Germany. Morley asserts it is "a precursor for war" as it could allow Russia to shut down oil supplies to eastern European nations while continuing to supply the more wealthy western European nations.

"Pope Asks Forgiveness for Catholic Persecution of Waldensians" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions an address by Pope Francis asking for forgiveness concerning the Roman Catholic Church's persecution of the Waldensians. Elsewhere PCG asserts to be the true successors of the Waldensians. This is nonsense. Armstrongism is actually an offshoot of the Millerite Adventist movement of the 1830s-1840s.

"Pope Asks: ‘Why Didn’t Allied Powers Bomb Railroads to Auschwitz?’" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions Pope Francis wondering why the Allies did not bomb the railroads during the Holocaust. This musing is condemned as hypocritical.

"Pope Francis Visits Sarajevo" by Callum Wood. Here Wood exploits Pope Francis' visit to Sarajevo to recite PCG's teaching that the Vatican and Germany started the Yugoslav Wars by recognizing Slovenia and Croatia in December 1991. This ignores many facts, not least that Slovenia was already de facto independent of Belgrade and that the Croatian War of Independence had already raged for six months before this diplomatic recognition. The battle of Vukovar had already ended by December 1991. This teaching is used by PCG to demonize Germany and the Papacy.

"Vatican Signs Treaty With ‘State of Palestine’" (Associated Press). PCG constantly vilifies the Palestinians and portray them in the worst possible light.

July 4: "Heartrending Response of Charleston Church Victims Shows How to Save Race Relations" by Gerald Flurry. On June 13 a racist terrorist went into the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church and murdered nine innocent people. At a court hearing some of the family members of the victims publicly stated that they forgave the murderer. Gerald Flurry praised this act of forgiveness as an example that shows how to save race relations.

Notice how Flurry expects African Americans to solve race relations. Focusing on their courageous act of forgiveness allows Flurry to sidestep the problem of racial discrimination by whites against African Americans. A PCG telecast related to this article was discussed in a previous post.

"Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iran and the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" by Callum Wood. Here Wood scare mongers about the Houthis in Yemen asserting that the Saudi led bombing campaign has compelled the Yemeni people in Houthi territory to rally against the Saudis and their allies. No mention is made of the terrible humanitarian toll and many deaths caused by the Saudi led bombardment. By October 26 it is estimated by the United Nations that about 1641 Yemeni civilians had been killed by the Saudi led bombardment.

"The Most Grotesque Manifestation of America’s Appeasement of Iran" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe mentions the presence of Shiite militia groups such as Iraqi Hezbollah (Kata'ib Hezbollah) and the League of the Righteous (Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq) that had fought against and killed US soldiers previously now sharing a military base with US military personnel. PCG still wants to demonize Iran and is frustrated that there is instead so much attention devoted to Abu Bakr al Baghdadi's lackeys who are antagonistic towards Iran and Shiites in general.

(It is also worth mentioning that the various Shiite militia groups were hostile against and even committed atrocities against many Iraqi Sunnis since 2003. This fear of Shiite militias is a major reason why Abu Bakr al Baghdadi's murderous lackeys were able to make their advances into Sunni Iraq in 2014.)

"Why the Euro Is Heading for an Earthshaking Crisis" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer asserts that the euro was designed to fail. The paranoid style is alive and well.

"Germany and Russia Back to Business as Usual" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer cites European business executives attending the St. Petersburg Economic Forum to insist that relations between Europe and Russia are starting to go back to normal.

"Russia Surpasses Saudi Arabia as China’s Number One Crude Oil Supplier" by Daryle Hochstetler. Here Hochstetler fear mongers about relations between Russia and China citing the oil Russia exports to China causing Russia to become the top exporter of oil surpassing Saudi Arabia.

"A Lawless Decision" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker condemns the Supreme Court legalizing same sex marriage. Hilliker cites the dissenting opinions to insist that the Supreme Court had no right to do this and was wrong to do so. It is insinuated that it is a sign that the Great Tribulation will soon occur. It is not mentioned that the Supreme Court has had this power to strike down laws it rules as being unconstitutional since 1803 at the least with the landmark Marbury v. Madison case.

July 11: "BIS Says No Lifeboats Left for Next Economic Crisis" by Robert Morley. Here Morley exploits a report by the Bank for International Settlement to insist that if another 2008 like situation occurs again Central Banks will be unable to stop a severe economic collapse.

"Is the Muslim Brotherhood Plotting to Retake Egypt?" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe mentions the killing of nine Muslim Brotherhood members by Egyptian police in a raid under disputed circumstances to fear monger that the Muslim Brotherhood will soon take over Egypt. PCG has fear mongered that the Muslim Brotherhood will take over Egypt continuously since the early 1990s. Its fall from power and bloody suppression which led to the violent deaths of at least 638 Egyptians in 2013 has not changed PCG's stance on this matter. This failed prophecy was mentioned in a previous post.

"Germany, Greece and the Fight for the Euro" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer discusses Germany's motivation to make sure Greece pays her debts.

"No, Beijing Isn’t Withdrawing Support for North Korea" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions how some writers asserted that China was becoming disillusioned with North Korea. Jacques insists that such things are to be ignored.

July 18: "Greece Euro Crisis Reveals That Germany Rules Europe" by Stephen Flurry and Richard Palmer. Here Stephen Flurry and Palmer exploits the crisis regarding Greek debt to demonize Germany as rising to power. Elsewhere PCG teaches that Germany is fated to conquer the United States.

"The Coronation of Iran as King of the South" by Stephen Flurry. Here Stephen Flurry condemns the agreement the United States made with Iran regarding its nuclear program. Actually it was Gerald Flurry who "coronated" Iran as the King of the South when he dogmatically proclaimed in 1994 that Iran would be the future King of the South.

"How the Iranian Nuclear Agreement Will Change History" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker condemns the agreement with Iran. Hilliker insists that Iran cannot be trusted and insists that the United States will not be able to monitor Iran. It bears noting that if there is peace between the United States and Iran it will be so much harder for PCG to fear monger about Iran.

"‘The Most Robust and Intrusive Inspections and Transparency Regime Ever Negotiated’?" by Brent Nagtegaal. Here Nagtegaal fear mongers that Iran will be able to easily manipulate the inspections to conceal secret activities. It is inaccurately asserted that Iran has about a month to clean up a site before inspection. This claim is inaccurate.

"NATO’s Weakness Will Make Europe Stronger" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer fear mongers that Germany will take over NATO's power for itself.

"Expanding the Empire: Russia Continues Slow Advance Into Georgian Territory" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques states that secessionist provinces of Georgia had redrawn the de facto border with Georgia to get more land including land containing an oil pipeline. This is mentioned to fear monger about Russia.

"Connecting the Empire: Russia Approves Construction of $4 Billion Bridge to Crimea" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions that Russia had approved the construction of a bridge from Russia to the recently annexed Crimea Peninsula.

July 25: "Four Responses to the Iran Nuclear Deal" by Callum Wood. Here Wood cites the positions of Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Obama, President Rouhani and his boss, Gerald Flurry to insist that the agreement is absolutely terrible.

(Incidentally the photo of Prime Minister Netanyahu accompanying this issue is often used in advertising for PCG's Trumpet Weekly.)

"President Obama’s Vast New Anti-Racism Database" by Robert Morley. Here Morley fear mongers about attempts to make society and institutions more inclusive towards African Americans. Of course PCG portrays this as something terrible, ghastly and scary.

"Black Officer in South Carolina Helps White Supremacist Suffering From Heat Exhaustion at KKK Rally" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions and praises the photo of an African American police officer helping a neo-Nazi to get to the shade. Notice how once again it is the African American who is expected to do the right thing.

August 1: "How the Global Financial Crisis Will Produce Europe’s Ten Kings" by Gerald Flurry. Here Flurry exploits the crisis regarding Greece's debt to assert that this crisis will lead to the rise of the future European Empire.

"A Tale of Two Militaries" by Jermiah Jacques. Here Jacques fear mongers that Russians are indoctrinated from youth to adore their military and are eager to join. And in contrast Jacques complains that so few Americans enlist to join the US armed forces. But at the same time the leaders of his organization, PCG, forbid their followers from serving in the armed forces. It is hypocritical for a religious organization that forbids its followers from serving in the armed forces to complain that not enough Americans are enlisting for the armed forces.

"Russian Submarine Wreck Found in Sweden’s Territorial Waters" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions the discovery of a wrecked submarine off the coast of Sweden. It is suggested that it was a recent Russian submarine that somehow sank with the loss of all on board.

"President Obama’s Plan to Revamp Discipline in Schools" by Robert Morley. Here Morley condemns a tweet by President Obama calling upon educators to rethink discipline. Morley fear mongers about attempts to make sure fewer African Americans get kicked out of the school system due to punishments.

August 8: "Feds Taking Over Policing in Baltimore?" by Stephen Flurry. Here Stephen Flurry fear mongers that widespread disquiet regarding the violent deaths of African Americans at the hands of police officers is being exploited by federal law enforcement to insert their presence and power into local law enforcement departments. In the United States there is a long history of using fear of the federal government to maintain various institutions such as slavery, racial segregation, and now attempts to address the problem of police brutality.

"New Suez Canal to Boost Trade, Bait Iran" (Anonymous PCG article). Here the opening of an extension for the Suez Canal is mentioned. It is insinuated that Iran may try to dispute the sea traffic passing through Egypt. Elsewhere PCG teaches that Egypt will later switch allegiance to Iran.

"Building a United States of Europe" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer exploits an article from Real Clear Politics to insist that HWA's predictions of a future European superpower fated to conquer America are finally beginning to come true. This is of course nonsense.

"Huntington Park and the Slippery Slope of Illegal Immigration" by Anthony Chibairwe. Here Chibarirwe condemns the appointment of two illegal immigrants as advisers to the local government of Huntington Park, California. Seems ironic for PCG to assign an immigrant to write such an article.

August 15: "President Obama’s Clean-Energy Dream—or National Nightmare?" by Robert Morley. Here Morley condemns the Obama Administration's introduction of new rules to be enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency.

This issue quotes an article from Israel Hayom. Israel Hayom is a right wing Israeli newspaper heavily funded by Las Vegas casino mogul, Sheldon Adelson. It is the most popular newspaper in Israel not least because it happens to be free. At least one Israeli columnist has characterized it as serving as Netanyahu's mouthpiece.

"‘We’re Ready for War’" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker exploits the violence in Ferguson during the one year anniversary protests commemorating the violent death of the innocent Michael Brown. Footage of protesters shouting "We're ready for war" is ludicrously presented to insinuate that the protesters wanted violence. This article was mentioned in a previous post.

August 22: "The Europe of the Bible Takes Shape" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer exploits a report by the European Council of Foreign Relations to once again insist that the future European Empire Armstrongism has awaited since the 1930s is finally about to arise.

"Dangerous Currency War Dragging World Toward World War III" by Robert Morley. Here Morley exploits a devaluation of the Chinese Renminbi to fear monger that sort of "currency war" will soon occur. Elsewhere PCG teaches that the United States is fated to soon collapse.

August 29: "Fear Index Explodes as World Careens Toward Global Market Meltdown" by Robert Morley. Here Morley discusses the collapse in the Chinese stock market.

"Islamic Terrorists Enter United States Through Mexico" by Daryle Hochstetler. Here Hochstetler fear mongers that terrorists claiming to be Muslim are entering the United States via Mexico.

"The Return of National Fences" by Brad MacDonald. Here MacDonald discusses widespread concerns regarding immigration and how some people are becoming more hostile towards allowing immigrants and refugees to arrive.

MacDonald seems to be impressed with Donald Trump.
Donald Trump, the front-runner in the race to become the Republican nominee for president, is America’s version of Nigel Farage.

Like Farage, Trump is candid, brave and totally fearless. He doesn’t worry too much about political correctness. He doesn’t mind offending other nations or peoples.

Trump’s message has a distinct nationalist tone to it. His campaign slogan is “Make America great again!” The central question for Trump on almost every issue is: What is best for America?
Elsewhere in this issue an article from Vox is cited to insinuate that psychologists cannot be trusted. Armstrongism has a long and shameful history of promoting anti-medicine superstitions. PCG continues to teach that doctrine of death.

September 2: "Why Are Murder Rates and Violence Rising in American Cities?" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker emotively mentions the murder of various police officers and some statistics of violent crime to vilify and denigrate the Black Lives Matter protest movement. Elsewhere PCG teaches that there will soon be a "race war" in which African Americans are fated to riot against the white majority throughout the United States. This is a racist false prophecy. PCG's "race war" will never come to pass.

Also Hilliker is wrong. Rates of violence is coming down nationally.

(Later on December 9 a terrorist attacked a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs murdering three innocent people including a police officer. As far as I know PCG said nothing about that terrorist attack or about that innocent police officer who was murdered in the line of duty.)

"The EPA’s Waters of the United States Rule Sunk by Judge, but Federal Power Grab Is Full Steam Ahead" by Robert Morley. Here Morley condemns again an attempt by the Environmental Protection Agency to expand its power. He quotes Senator James Lankford a Republican politician who once spoke at a meeting held in Armstrong Auditorium in 2013.

This issue quotes an article by The Huffington Post. PCG leans very far to the right. But even so they do sometimes quote left wing sources.

September 11: "Europe’s Immigration Crisis: A Clash of Civilizations" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer discusses the wave of refugees, many from war ravaged Syria, fleeing into Europe. Palmer makes it all about religion which, whether he intends it or not, has the effect of presenting the refugees as being outsiders and minimizing their humanity.

September 19: "The Francis Revolución" by Callum Wood. Here Wood exploits Pope Francis' visit to Cuba to demonize him as a Communist. In the tradition of McCarthyism Pope Francis is red baited as being a Communist.
The combination of Catholicism and communism seems a volatile mix, yet Pope Francis is harnessing both for a purpose to wage an all-out assault on capitalist America and to bring about global revolution. Pope Francis means to stir up rebellion. Revolution will be directed at those who exemplify capitalism, primarily the United States. Thus if Francis is to tear apart the global economy and rebuild it with his Catholic ideologies, capitalist America must be confronted.
Furthermore Wood mentions Jacobo Árbenz Guzmán.
The pope’s statement has all the hallmarks of the former government of Jacobo Árbenz Guzmán. Árbenz was president of Guatemala when Che Guevara was alive. It was Guzmán who enacted land reform policies that stripped capitalist companies, such as United Fruit, of hundreds of thousands of acres in Guatemala and gave it to the peasant class.
It is not mentioned that President Guzmán was forcibly overthrown in a military coup made to specifically prevent that reform and protect United Fruit's possession of land. The military coup plunged Guatemala into an era of civil war and strife which would be continuously accompanied with much bloodshed and all manner of horrors until 1996.

"Why the Federal Reserve Did Not Raise Rates" by Robert Morley. Here Morley fear mongers that the US economy is in such a dire state that "the Federal Reserve will be very slow to raise interest rates, if at all." Morley also makes a fallacious analogy between one's heart rate and the rate of interest.

One non-PCG article speculates that terrorists could enter the United States posing as refugees. Considering the current dire situation this seems unhelpful.

September 26: "America’s Broken Will" by Gerald Flurry. Here Flurry exploits the lifting of sanctions against Iran to insist that the American people's behavior contrary to PCG's dogma has brought about the wrath of PCG's God upon the United States.

Flurry also fear mongers that "race riots" will soon occur against the white majority in the United States. He also denies that any nation can have peace among peoples of different nationalities and religions.
America prides itself on being a melting pot, where people of all languages, cultures, religions and practices can peacefully coexist. No nation can survive this way. Race riots will rip our nations apart, leaving them exposed and vulnerable to foreign takeover! God says this will happen.
This is a racist false prophecy which will never occur. No wonder PCG has continuously condemned the immigration of (predominantly non-white) people from Latin America and Syrian refugees from entering the United States.

"California Drought Update: Sierra Nevada’s Snowpack at 500-Year Low" (Anonymous PCG article). This article mentions the severe drought in the State of California. Elsewhere PCG teaches that natural disasters are attempts by PCG's God to communicate with humanity. PCG also teaches that California is accursed by PCG's God for being the state containing the headquarters of Tkach's WCG.

This issue quotes an article by WorldNetDaily.

[Incorrectly observed Feast of Tabernacles break.]

October 10: "How Much Confidence Do You Have in America’s Political Process?" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker venomously insinuates that President Obama is a law breaker.
And it’s not just that the president will do anything necessary, even outside the law, to fulfill his agenda.
Hilliker seems rather impressed with Donald Trump. He is discussed in this article more than any other candidate.
The top Republican contender is a man who would likely never be considered a serious candidate under normal circumstances. But people appreciate him because he is everything that the Republican establishment is not. He presents himself as a tough negotiator. He says he can’t be bought. He won’t be walked on—if you attack him, he attacks you back. He’s not politically correct. He puts the media in their place. And he continually talks about the fact that he’s a winner. He sells optimism, and leads people to think he can actually get things done. When he says he will strengthen the military, build a wall, make America a respected nation again—it doesn’t sound like mere political rhetoric: People believe it. And they are so disenchanted with politics as usual that they’re willing to overlook this man’s considerable flaws— his arrogance, his narcissism, his public, petty, childish insults.
This issue contains an article from The Washington Times which negatively discusses transgender Americans. The Washington Times is a far right wing newspaper that was founded by a certain controversial religious group that originated from Korea.

October 17: "How the Jerusalem Awakening Is Prophesied to End" by Stephen Flurry. Here Stephen Flurry fear mongers that the round of violence afflicting the Holy Land.

Authoritarian religions often teach people to view matters in a simplistic black and white manner. PCG does this with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. One side is good. One side is bad, even satanic. For PCG the Israeli Jews are essentially innocent and the Palestinians are the villains. Any deviation from this narrow script is condemned.

For PCG it does not matter that the Palestinians have had a 500% higher death toll than Israeli Jews. The Palestinians are the (non-white) villains in PCG's eyes. For PCG Palestinian lives do not matter.

This article was discussed in a previous post.

"IMF Warns Next Financial Crash Is Only a Matter of Time" by Robert Morley. Here Morley exploits a statement from the International Monetary Fund to fear monger that another economic collapse is all but certain.

October 24: "Monster Hurricane Patricia About to Slam Mexico" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker mentions Hurricane Patricia hitting Mexico in order to insist that natural disasters are supernaturally caused by PCG's God.

"Benjamin Netanyahu and the Grand Mufti: What Is the Real Controversy?" by Stephen Flurry. Here Stephen Flurry defends Prime Minister Netanyahu by saying that those who condemned his historically inaccurate comment that Haj Amin al Husseini inspired Hitler to exterminate the Jews were biased. Stephen Flurry protests that the real story should be Haj Amin al Husseini's well documented and well known collaboration with the Nazis. In PCG's eyes one side is good, one side is bad. Even when the side PCG favors should blunder in such a way it must be minimized since this contradicts PCG's black and white view. This controversy was mentioned in a previous post.

This issue quotes an article from The Guardian. Although PCG leans far to the right they sometimes quote left wing news sources.

This issue quotes an article from WorldNetDaily concerning the right wing xenophobic outlashing against refugees fleeing into Europe.

"What Trudeau’s Election Teaches Us About Canada" by Robert Morley. Here Morley condemns the election of a left wing government in the land of his nativity, Canada

October 30: "How Many Germans Secretly Admire Hitler?" by Brad MacDonald. Here MacDonald exploits a comedy movie to fear monger that many Germans secretly admire Hitler. This inflammatory article was discussed in a previous post.

"Get Ready: People Are Trying to Normalize Pedophilia" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker nonsensically insinuate that some are trying to legalize pedophilia. It is asserted that since homosexual relations have been legalized and integrated into mainstream society there is nothing to prevent a similar thing happening with pedophilia. This is nonsense. Pedophilia will never be legalized because the victim cannot give consent. It is vile that Hilliker should spread such nonsense to his followers. This nonsensical article was mentioned in a previous post.

On page 4 is a quotation of an Associated Press article that states that the Israeli government "could potentially strip tens of thousands of Palestinians of their Israeli residency rights." PCG sometimes asserts that Palestinians have no right to be aggrieved by the State of Israel. This article contradicts PCG's black and white view of the tragic Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

November 7: "Guttenberg Condemns Europe’s Leadership" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer exploits an address by Karl-Theodor zu Guttenburg condemning the European Union's handling of the refugee crisis to scare monger that he might be the European dictator fated to conquer and enslave America. Since 2009 PCG has constantly insinuated that Karl-Theodor zu Guttenburg might fulfill this long awaited role.

"Fortress of Antiochus Epiphanes Uncovered in Jerusalem" by Brent Nagtegaal. Here Nagtegaal mentions the discovery of archaeological remains of a fortress that dates to the time of the infamous Antiochus Epiphanes.

"North Korean Government Earning Billions by Forcing Citizens Into Slave Labor Abroad" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques mentions that North Korea is exploiting their citizens work outside of the country. It is well known all over the world that there are many severe and horrifying human rights violations that occur within North Korea.

"Pope Francis’s Most Dangerous Trip Yet" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe discusses Pope Francis' visit to the Central African Republic and speculates that the turbulent and deadly situation there could force Pope Francis to cancel his planned visit there. Pope Francis succeeded in completing the visit to the war ravaged nation. May peace soon come to the Central African Republic.

November 14: "University of Missouri: Where Racism Merges With Violent Youth Culture" by Stephen Flurry. Here Steven Flurry condemns the protesters compelling the resignation of the President of the University of Missouri. Elsewhere PCG has taught that African Americans are fated to launch a wave of riots against the white majority. This racist false prophecy will never be fulfilled. This article was discussed in a previous post.

"Will Angela Merkel Complete Her Term as German Chancellor?" by Stephen Flurry. Here Stephen Flurry exploits difficulties faced by Chancellor Merkel regarding the refugee crisis to insinuate that Merkel may soon be ousted from power. Elsewhere PCG has fear mongered that Karl-Theodor zu Guttenburg will gain power and become the European dictator fated to conquer and enslave the United States.

November 21: "Paris Attacks: A Milestone in European Unity" by Stephen Flurry and Richard Palmer. Here Stephen Flurry and Palmer proceed to insist that their prophecies of a European superpower fated to conquer the United States will soon be fulfilled. It is asserted that ISIL's terrorist attacks in Paris that murdered 132 innocent people will contribute to the rise of a future European Empire fated to conquer the United States. Stephen Flurry and Palmer assert that the European nations have lost faith in President Obama and will soon set up themselves as a military force independent of American influence.

"The Paris Bloodbath Awakens a Sleeping Giant in Europe" by Stephen Flurry. Here Stephen Flurry fear mongers that ISIL's terrorist attacks in Paris will lead PCG's prophecies to soon be fulfilled.

November 28: "Microaggressions and Other Fictions" by Joel Hilliker. Here Hilliker condemns the protests against racism made by African American protesters. Such anti-racism protesters are denigrated as protesting over nothing.

"Grand Mufti of Australia Comments on Paris Attacks" by Callum Wood. Here Wood condemns comments by the Grand Mufti of Australia. It is asserted that he justified the terrorist attacks. Wood also hysterically insists that white Australian "often receive the branding as racists who suffer from Islamophobia." (Maybe Wood should stop incorrectly portraying Islam as a unified, political force as he did in the January 24, 2015 issue as is mentioned above.)

"Should You Take the Recommended Meds?" by Jeremiah Jacques. Here Jacques quite irresponsibly makes fearful assertions that pharmaceutical drugs are useless and that it is a big money making scam.

"Australia bans anti-vax parents from benefits". Here a new law in Australia designed to make sure more parents do the responsible thing and get their children vaccinated is mentioned. Armstrongism has a long history of spreading anti-medicine superstitions with deadly consequences for those indoctrinated into such ideas. Shamefully PCG continues to promote this doctrine of death. This article was mentioned in a previous post.

(Also relevant is the fact that the October 25, 2014 issue of The Trumpet Weekly quoted an article from an anti-vaxxer website. The article itself talked about China and Russia being a challenge to the West. But the web site in question promoted anti-vaxxerism. Anti-vaxxerism is a modern day superstition that leaves people unnecessarily exposed to dangerous diseases. It is shameful that PCG panders to such people instead of helping them get out of this dangerous modern day superstition. We need to be responsible and get vaccinated and get our children vaccinated.)

December 5: "How Many Syrian Refugees Are Terrorists?" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here Chibarirwe fear monger that some of the Syrian refugees fleeing the repression of the Assad regime and the horrors of Abu Bakr al Baghdadi's lackeys are terrorists.

"The Paris Climate Summit Is About Destroying Capitalism" by Robert Morley. Here Morley cites some obscure environmental group to red bait the environmentalist movement as being like the Communists of Lenin and Stalin's time. The spirit of McCarthyism is alive and well among PCG's 1%.

"Seal of Biblical King Hezekiah Found in Jerusalem" (Anonymous PCG article). Here Dr. Eilat Mazar's discovery of a seal belonging to King Hezekiah is mentioned. Unfortunately this archaeological discovery is being used for political purposes regarding Israeli-Palestinian relations. The 160 nation states that recognize the State of Israel only recognize its right to rule its 1949-67 borders. The State of Israel's rule over East Jerusalem that has been in place since 1967 is internationally unrecognized. The unfortunate politicization of archaeology in the Holy Land was mentioned in a previous post. May peace soon come to the Holy Land.

Also most media reports of the discovery of King Hezekiah's seal makes no direct mention of PCG's participation.

December 12: "France’s National Front Claims Record-Breaking Victory" by Richard Palmer and Brandi Davis. Here the electoral advances of the far right National Front in France is exploited to insinuate that Europe will soon transformed into the feared European Empire Armstrongism has fearful proclaimed will conquer America since the 1930s.

December 19: "China Controls Darwin for a Century" by Callum Wood. Here Wood condemns the sale of the Port of Darwin in northern Australia to a Chinese company. PCG has a long history of vilifying China and scare mongering about non-white communities within the United States, Britain and Australia.

December 26: "Do Not Ignore Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Military Alliance" by Anthony Chibarirwe. Here the recent announcement by Saudi Arabia of an Islamic alliance to combat Abu Bakr al Baghdadi's lackeys is exploited to insist that PCG's prophesies about the Middle East will soon be fulfilled. Since 2011 PCG has taught that the Middle East will coalesce into two rival alliances. The King of the South headed by Iran which will be hostile towards Europe. And secondly the "Psalm 83 nations" which will be pro-Europe and antagonistic towards Iran. PCG's false prophecies will never be fulfilled.

"Paris Attacks Reveal the Outlines of a New Europe" by Richard Palmer. Here Palmer insinuates that ISIL's terrorist attacks in Paris will propel the formation of the future European Empire that PCG has constantly insisted will soon conquer and enslave the United States.

"U.S. Bows to Russia, Again" by Stephen Flurry. Here Stephen Flurry condemns negotiations with Russia regarding Syria as a sign that America under Obama is weak. May peace soon come to Syria.

This issue contains a Jerusalem Post article mentioning the archaeological finds in East Jerusalem. The 160 nation states that recognize the State of Israel only recognize its right to rule its 1949-67 borders. The State of Israel's rule over East Jerusalem that has been in place since 1967 is internationally unrecognized by those 160 nation states that recognize the State of Israel. Most media reports of the discovery of King Hezekiah's seal makes no direct mention of PCG's participation.

PCG's Brad MacDonald Pandering to Anti-Refugee Xenophobia

Brad MacDonald has released an article that vilifies the refugees heading into Germany ("Germany, Migrants and Angela Merkel’s Big Lie," December 29, 2015).
During recent trips to Vienna, Hannover, Stockach and Zurich, I discussed Europe’s migrant crisis with friends and other travelers. Each had his stories and anecdotes, his concerns and frustrations, and, of course, his particular solutions. But nearly every person I spoke with shared an interesting concern, and one with enormous and alarming consequences.

I was told multiple times that there is a growing belief among Germans that they are being intentionally misled—and even deliberately lied to—by Angela Merkel and her pro-migrant allies in the government and the media. Many Germans believe Merkel and the media talk only about the “advantages” of migration and deliberately misreport, ignore, and even cover up its many negative impacts. There is a growing perception that mainstream politicians and media are more on the side of the migrants than the German people.
(It is quite likely that such a trip was funded by the tithes sent to PCG.)

MacDonald also scare mongers that the mayor of Berlin was secretly planning to change the law to acquire housing for refugees. MacDonald in a sensationalist manner calls it a "diabolical conspiracy".
Why wouldn’t more mainstream media outlets report on this? It’s a blockbuster story—the mayor of Berlin wanted to illegally change German law in order to invade the homes of German people in search of accommodation for migrants. Why wasn’t this diabolical conspiracy—which unfolded in Germany’s capital, right under her nose—addressed by Chancellor Merkel or her government?
After denigrating and vilifying the refugees as thieves, disrespectful towards police officers, prone towards violence, etc, some of which he insists he acquired second hand from people to talked to, MacDonald then denies that Germans opposed to accepting these refugees hate the refugees.
Many of the Germans becoming disenfranchised with mainstream politics and turning to these groups are not hardcore neo-Nazis. They don’t want to persecute the migrants or see them imprisoned, beat up or killed. They are not radical extremists seeking mass genocide. They are regular, sound-thinking, rational people, many of whom have terrific empathy for those suffering in Syria and elsewhere.
Little evidence is presented in this article that the people MacDonald talked with " have terrific empathy for those suffering in Syria and elsewhere." Or perhaps MacDonald was talking to people of a similar ideological bent to himself. PCG has often scare mongered about immigrants coming into America or Australia.
These people are simply concerned about the impact millions of migrants will have on their nation, its institutions, its infrastructure, its economy, its culture, and on the German people. They are concerned about Germany’s future. But Angela Merkel refuses to give too much serious attention to these concerns and refuses to tell the truth about the impact the migrants are having and will have on the German nation.
MacDonald seems to think letting desperate refugees enter Germany and trying to help them is really scary.

Ultimately the point of this article is too scare monger that the refugee crisis will cause Germany to finally change and become the feared military superpower that Armstrongism has constantly insisted will soon conquer the United States.

The refugees need help, not vilification such as this. No doubt many of them have been traumatized by what has happened in Syria. It is shameful that PCG has chosen to scare monger against these desperate and vulnerable people who need help.

Novel About Palestinian-Jewish Romance Restricted in Israeli Schools

From Haaretz:
Israel’s Education Ministry has disqualified a novel that describes a love story between an Israeli woman and a Palestinian man from use by high schools around the country. The move comes even though the official responsible for literature instruction in secular state schools recommended the book for use in advanced literature classes, as did a professional committee of academics and educators, at the request of a number of teachers.

Satirical Twitter Account Critiques Intercontinental COG Member

From a satirical twitter account that mocks Prime Minister Netanyahu.

As mentioned in a previous post Chloe Valdary is a member of the Intercontinental Church of God. She is the daughter of an Intercontinental COG minister, Max Valdary.

(Disclaimer: Retweeting is not endorsement.)

Aide for Israel's Education Minister Used to Bomb Cars

Was saddened to see this. Turns out an aide to Israel's Education minister was formerly convicted in 1985 of planting car bombs against Palestinians.

It is Very Hard for Palestinians in Area C of the West Bank to Get Contruction Permits

Constantly the COGs portray Palestinians in a bad light. But will they ever bother to tell their readers a fact like this?

PCG's Use of Racially Coded Words: Inner-City, Thug and Ghetto

The Pan-African Flag

Hostile attitudes are strange things. You can tell someone not to use certain words but unless he or she chooses to change his or her attitude the derogatory attitude will merely express itself elsewhere. This includes language.

Take racial prejudice against African Americans for instance. Over time American society has learned not to use certain words and phrases in order to be respectful and polite towards African Americans. But some people, even though they stopped using certain words and phrases, have not learned to change their hearts. They still view African Americans as "not one of us" and allow stereotypes to influence how they view African Americans. So the racist prejudice and stereotyped thinking shifts elsewhere among those people and, among other things, this affects how they use originally innocuous words.

According to the following article (7 Phrases Everyone Needs to Stop Using to Describe Black People) here are seven phrases that are used as often derogatory code words to mean African Americans.
  • Thug
  • Inner city
  • Ghetto
  • Oreo
  • Uppity
  • You people
  • Shady/Sketchy
How true is this?

What about the word "thug"? Do PCG's writers use that word to describe African Americans? Is this true with "inner-city" and "ghetto"?

In this post we shall only discuss the first three racially coded words as the last four do not appear to be used in such a sense within PCG's writings.

Also quotations featuring people outside of PCG using these terms are not discussed. This is PCG's leaders and what they say.

"Inner-city"

The use of the phrase "inner-city" by PCG's writers is particularly fascinating. Within PCG's writings "inner-city" is always used to describe a hostile, scary place. "Inner-city" is often associated with violence, crime, criminal gangs and deprivation. Less often it is associated with illicit drug use, slothful behavior and lack of education. Sometimes it is even made explicit that "inner-city" refers to African Americans or minorities.
Drug interdiction specialists are now concerned over the increased use of heroin in this country. But heroin is not just being used by some burned-out musician or some inner-city junkie. It is reaching into all economic levels and age groups in America. Heroin can now be found in our backyards and in our houses! In this arena the special-forces soldier becomes meaningless. We must learn how to protect our families and ourselves. We must face the drug problem head on and at home. (Dennis Leap, Heroin at Your House?, June 1998.)

Mario Puzo’s Godfather series, made into film by Francis Ford Coppola, has become one of the most-read and watched series about the mafia. West Side Story was a very popular Broadway show. One of the most favorite westerns that embellished gang life was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. This movie, far from the truth, glorified the lives of the two thieves. In the ’90s, it has been trendy to feature movies about black, inner-city gangs. Movies like Colors and New Jack City made gang life look exciting and thrilling. Several of these movies even used actual gang members as actors. (Dennis Leap, Why Dick and Jane Join Gangs, February 1999.)
The quote above discussing "black, inner-city gangs" is particularly revealing. "Inner-city" is a code word for African American.
And it is simple to understand why. Look at the world and what do we see? Chaos! There is war, strife and violence in parts of Asia, Africa, South America, Central America, Ireland and the Middle East. Inner city tensions fuel crime in Britain, Europe and North America. Violence, sickness, disease, inequality, poverty, filth, squalor, degeneration, suffering, economic uncertainty, interpersonal conflicts, a gnawing sense of helplessness—these infest all nations and billions of people to one degree or another. Added to this is the fear factor of a world living under threat of the modern terrorist.  (Eric Anderson and Brad MacDonald, Manage Your Stress—Substance Free, February 2004.)

Such scenarios frighten medical authorities because they are not mere science fiction. With the tremendous intercontinental air and sea traffic of our age, plus the crumbling infrastructures of metropolitan inner cities and increasing numbers of fleeing international refugees, such diseases could be spread around the world very quickly. In today’s global society, an outbreak could be on the other side of the world within 24 hours. (Fred Dattolo, Disease Pandemics Are Coming, March-April 2005.)

In this climate of increasing want and desperation—as in New Orleans—the layers of social order will begin to erode, particularly “in the midst of the city.” Inner-city criminality will begin to spread—not merely within a single city, but from city to city.  ...
At a moment in the near future, the U.S. economy is in a slump. The dollar is shedding its value. Factories are shutting down. The number of homeless and hopeless grows in the cities. Shipping grinds to a halt as companies close and energy prices climb.
The inner-city poor are hit hardest. Charity efforts are unable to meet demands. Lines form at grocery stores for dwindling supplies of food at rising prices. Some, desperate for sustenance, resort to crime.
Racial tensions and resentment against the government escalate. Police officers are trapped between restoring order and being indicted for discrimination. As more people are victimized, both by economic depression and rising crime, emotions boil over. (Joel Hilliker, Urban Anarchy, November 2005.)

Chile’s newly elected president, Michelle Bachelet, gained the ire of the student protestors by failing to mention their cause during her presidential address the day following their occupation of the inner city building in Santiago. Perhaps to make up for this, Bachelet went public on June 5 to express sympathy with the students’ frustrations and to condemn the swift response of the police in their actions to limit damage and maximize arrests during the wild student demonstrations. (Ron Fraser, Chilean Students Riot, June 9, 2006.)

Bible prophecy tells us Mr. Hutchinson’s “great concern” is valid. To learn about the horrific racial tensions and inner-city violence that are prophesied to explode in American cities in the time just ahead—and, more importantly, how to avoid being victimized by this violence—request a free copy of our book Ezekiel: The End-Time Prophet. (Racial Hate in L.A. Just a Microcosm, January 22, 2007.)

Brutality has been accepted as a black patch on the tapestry of human existence—and not just for soldiers on bloody battlefields, inner-city gangs or hospital emergency rooms. (Brad MacDonald, Surviving Our Loveless World, October 2007.)

Minority women feel that the feminist movement has failed to solve their problems with inner city life—no jobs and poverty. (Dennis Leap, Recapture Value in True Womanhood, December 5, 2007.)
This is particularly revealing. We see that "inner-city life" is associated with "[m]inority women". Inner-city is a euphemism for non-whites which includes African Americans.
White flight is a term coined in the United States in the 1960s to describe the creation of inner-city ghettos. (Muslims Create “No Go” Areas in Britain, January 16, 2008.)

Imagine that the U.S. economy continues to slump.
(Joel Hilliker, Are You Watching the Food Riots?, June-July 2008.)

This isn’t even addressing the cultural and psychological impact the shift away from the land has had on the mindset of Western societies. You’ve probably heard about inner-city children not knowing milk comes from cows, or seen the reality shows where trendy city-slickers head to the farm to educate their naive, living-life-behind-the-eight-ball counterparts. Often, farmers are seen as fools living a primitive lifestyle. (Brad MacDonald, What We Lost When We Sold the Farm, September 2008.)
Historically African Americans were denigrated as lacking education and not knowing how to read. The fact that African Americans were forced to endure racial discrimination unfortunately contributed to that racist stereotype which was used to humiliate and put down African Americans in a terrible cycle of oppression.
The problem is, this one example is but the tip of an iceberg, below which floats a huge, deeply entrenched, perverse way of life that has become endemic to American society. It’s a disease that has penetrated from the mansions of Beverly Hills to the trailer parks and ultimately the cardboard boxes and filthy dens of the street people of inner cities. (Ron Fraser, America The Corrupt, November-December 2009.)
And so we see Ron Fraser associating the "inner-city" with homelessness.
And if you have ever visited a Department of Motor Vehicles office in an inner city, you know that efficiency and service is not high on the priority list. (Robert Morley, America's Rome Moment, June 6, 2010.)
In this climate of increasing want and desperation, the time will come that social order will begin to erode, particularly “in the midst of the city.” Inner-city criminality will begin to spread—not merely within a single city, but from city to city. (Joel Hilliker, Will Your Local Policeman Lose His Job?, September 15, 2010.)

As if the stabilizing force of family isn’t being rocked enough. Out-of-wedlock births and single-parent households, once associated with inner-city poor, are now common among the rural white working class as well. In the nation’s capital, more than half of family households are run by single parents. In one area of Washington, only a quarter of homes contain a functioning marriage; of the remaining homes, nearly 9 in 10 are run by women. (Joel Hilliker, It’s Hard to Watch Your Country Die, March 2011.)

I am reminded of the massive Santee Education Complex built in South Los Angeles in 2005 in order to help disadvantaged inner-city students. (Robert Morley, Willingly Ignorant of the Danger, May 10, 2011.)

Stated another way. The end result is a nationwide culture becoming more like inner-city Detroit, Washington, D.C., Cleveland, and so on. (Robert Morley, One in Five Workmen Missing in Action, May 11, 2011.)

In a brave and shocking speech at last year’s Conservative Party Conference, deputy head teacher Katharine Birbalsingh denounced the current skills deficit. She was utterly exasperated by her experience of trying to educate teenagers in one of London’s inner-city state schools and felt she had a duty to speak out about a system that is rendering young people unemployable... (Graig Millar, UK’s Lost Generation—Lost by Educationalists, May 25, 2011.)

Philadelphia is under a curfew due to inner-city violence. (Robert Morley, London Riots Will Engulf America, August 16, 2011.)

Then again, imagine the inevitable violence if America continues to cede its southern border, inner cities and leafy neighborhoods to Mexico’s drug lords. (Brad MacDonald, Beheading Mexico, May-June 2012.)

After a series of attacks in Chicago by almost exclusively black mobs mostly on white individuals, the city’s superintendent of police stepped up and bravely addressed the racial aspect of the violence. How? By blaming the inner-city violence on some kind of racist conspiracy: specifically, “federal gun laws that facilitate the flow of illegal firearms into our urban centers across this country that are killing our black and brown children.” What? In front of a cheering audience, he called these laws “government-sponsored racism,” comparable to segregation and slavery. (Joel Hilliker, Ignoring the Race Riots Won’t Make Them Disappear, July 25, 2012.)
In this particularly inflammatory (and factually flawed) passage "inner-city violence" is associated with "a series of attacks in Chicago by almost exclusively black mobs mostly on white individuals". Once again we see "inner-city" associated with African Americans and violence.

(The above article as well as evidence that it is based on a flawed source that mistakenly presents events in an incorrect light may be seen in a previous post.)
Many of America’s inner cities are boiling over with racial tension. Hooligans and criminals are quick to exploit the chaos. ... Race riots are coming to America. Many of its inner cities are already seething, ready to explode. (Daryle Hochstetler, Riots—Coming to a City Near You, August 14, 2014.)
Once again the "inner cities" are associated with violence.
Not all cities are seeing an increase in violent crime. But several other big cities, especially those whose inner city populations have had particularly confrontational relationships with police, are experiencing similar increased violence. (Joel Hilliker, ‘We’re Ready for War’, August 12, 2015.)
"Thug"

Below are examples of PCG's writers using the word "thug". Indeed at times it seems to be used to describe African Americans.
According to a Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) publication Chief Concerns: A Gathering Storm—Violent Crime in America, police chiefs from across the nation cite a basket of reasons for the spike in crime. Those reasons include America’s culture of violence, a lower valuation on human life, and a thug mentality glamorized by pop culture. Some blamed the reduction of police staffing and funding levels, while others said the American justice system shares part of the blame with its revolving door that is constantly releasing violent criminals back onto American streets. (8,701,578 Crimes Committed in Major U.S. Cities, June 7, 2007.)

The Institute for Public Policy Research found that a major reason for Britain’s thug generation was the collapse of British family life. British youngsters spend more time with other teens than their counterparts, indicating that they learn how to live from other teens rather than from their parents. (British Teens Out of Control, June 30, 2007.)

Law enforcement officials recognize they are dealing not only with dangerous trends but also with dangerous attitudes. Many indict pop culture as glamorizing violence and thug life, particularly “gangsta” rap music. Violent, criminal lyrics, gangster-style clothing and shirts with street slang phrases are popular even with suburban and rural youths and young adults, and are aggravating crime rates and their viciousness. (Phillip Nice, The End of American Crime, August-September 2007.)

American youth are still gorging themselves on heinous video games, including the latest release of “Grand Theft Auto,” which hits stores Tuesday and includes intense violence, blood, partial nudity, strong language, strong sexual content and use of drugs and alcohol. All this, in addition to the basic premise that you are a street thug trying to make a career in crime for yourself. The Rockstar-developed game is rated “M” for “Mature,” and retailers can only sell it to customers 17 and older. It’s no surprise then, that Grand Theft Auto is one of the most-played games for boys 12 to 14—and for girls of the same age! (The Weekend Web, April 27, 2008.)

When one white policeman kills a black thug who was trying to kill him in Ferguson, Missouri, the president creates a furor. (Gerald Flurry, The Roots of America’s Dangerous Turn Left, January 2016.)

Another participant in the campus protests, Reuben Faloughi, told the Associated Press that he felt “liberated” by Wolfe resigning. He also participated in a “die-in” protest in memory of Michael Brown. “That was the first time I got involved in activism,” he said. “I never felt that unity before, that kind of energy. It was very empowering, and it planted the seeds that students can challenge things.”
Michael Brown was a thug who tried to kill a policeman. People still use the “hands up, don’t shoot” narrative from Brown’s death in Ferguson, Missouri—even though it has been proven to be a complete lie. The St. Louis County grand jury and the Justice Department exonerated the officer who killed Brown. Investigations proved that he was justified in everything he did; he shot a man who was going to kill him! Even the attorney general admitted that. If you want to save your nation, you’d better have somebody stop the criminals, one way or the other! But people keep believing whatever they want to believe. (Gerald Flurry, The Deadly Path of Higher Education, February 2016.)
(Incidentally Flurry is in error about Michael Brown. The police officer who fatally shot him six times was not exonerated. A grand jury is not supposed to exonerate as it is merely supposed to agree with the prosecutor that a case should proceed with further investigation. It is not the role of a grand jury to decide if one is guilty or not, but to decide if a case should be investigated further. There is no defense in a grand jury. The fact that a grand jury chose not to prosecute is very irregular as they are not designed to do that.)

"Ghetto"

The ghetto is rarely used within PCG's writings. But it does occur it is clearly used to describe a nasty place. A place that is undesirable. The few times the word "ghetto" is used it is never presented in a good sense.
And the choices that determine the difference between a thriving community and a ghetto—made day after day by thousands or even millions of individuals—are an outgrowth of something far less concrete: the character of those people. The most perfectly engineered of surroundings, when inhabited by people of low character, still make for a botch of a city. ...
Imagine quality city life being affordable. Imagine a city providing enough stable, decent jobs that unemployment is next to nil, and everyone enjoys affluence. ... Imagine a city devoid of run-down, impoverished slums and ghettos. (Joel Hilliker, The Cities of the Future, October 2007.)
In another instance it is insinuated that in times past pornography came from "the ghetto" and that it was accessible mainly from "the hardscrabble, no-go zones of the city."
Pornography used to be more difficult to get to—confined to the other side of the tracks, hiding in the hardscrabble, no-go zones of the city. The shame used to be prohibitive. (Joel Hilliker, Keep the Ghetto Out of Your Bedroom, September 2009.)
"Ghetto" is not used in a positive sense in PCG's writings as is seen above.

And so this list of quotes comes to an end.

***

It is unfortunate that PCG's leaders have allowed themselves to view African Americans in a simplistic and stereotyped manner. They do a disservice to their readers by promoting stereotyped thinking about African Americans. They need to learn to treat African Americans as equals instead of retaining stereotyped thinking that contaminates how they view African Americans.

Closely related to this kind of stereotyped thinking is PCG's false prophecy of "race war".

PCG needs to stop denigrating African Americans. PCG needs to repent of such attitudes.
