PCG's Reliance on Caroline Glick

Since 2007 PCG's writers have been quite reliant upon the writings of the American born, Israeli columnist Caroline Glick, a editor of The Jerusalem Post.

In the May-June 2013 issue of PCG's recruitment magazine Gerald Flurry called Glick "Israel’s best columnist". In the August 2014 issue Gerald Flurry referred to Glick as "one of the greatest journalists in the Jewish state today, and perhaps one of the best in the world." Clearly PCG's leader, Gerald Flurry, is quite impressed with Glick's writings.

Since 2007 PCG's leaders have often quoted this columnist. These include Brad MacDonald (18 times), Stephen Flurry (17 times), Gerald Flurry (9 times), Joel Hilliker (5 times), Richard Palmer, Brent Nagtegaal (2 times each), Robert Morley, Callum Wood and Don Jacques (1 time each).

Caroline Glick cannot be blamed for having some non-Jewish religious organization based in Edmond choosing to give so much credence to her writings. I am not aware of any evidence that PCG has communicated with her. This post is not about Glick. This is about PCG and noting that the PCG leadership have decided to place great trust in this columnist and have exploited her writings to make PCG's writers seem knowlegible about political affairs.

Noticeably they never seem to criticize anything that they quote from this columnist. The way they quote this columnist shows that the PCG leadership have chosen to place a lot of trust upon this columnist.

Note Regarding Stereotypes

Sadly some people, even among a few ex-members of WCG, shamefully bear hatred against the Jewish people in their hearts and seek to divide us along religious lines. Over the years such people have concocted many terrible lies and dehumanizing stereotypes to demonize and devalue Jews. One such dehumanizing stereotype is that they "control the media." This is a lie. We must focus on facts. There is no single political interest among the Jews.

Rather the Jews are like the world in miniature. Among Jews there are -- politically and religiously speaking -- many differing interests. Some are left wing. Some are right wing. About 80% of American Jews vote for the Democratic Party. Jews in the State of Israel tend to vote for right wing parties more than American Jews. Some are religious. Some are extremely religious. Some are secular. Some are converts from another religion. Some decide to convert to another religion. Some are Atheists. Some are rich. Some are poor. Some support the State of Israel. Some criticize and condemn the State of Israel.

We need to treat Jews as equals. We must give no place to anti-Semitism or any other form of racism. We are stronger together.

List of Quotations

Below is a compilation of the many times PCG's leaders have chosen to cite Caroline Glick.

***

Caroline Glick, deputy managing editor for the Jerusalem Post, recently summarized the shocking details of the 2006 report. Among the findings were details about exactly who is financing the illegal construction, where much of the construction is taking place, and the Israeli government’s impotent response.
Shocking facts one and two: financing and location. “The political aim of the illegal construction is made clear by its financing sources,” reported Glick. (Israel Fails to Curb Palestinian Territorial Incursions, May 31, 2007.)

Caroline Glick, deputy managing editor for the Jerusalem Post, summarized the shocking details of the report. “The political aim of the illegal construction is made clear by its financing sources,” reported Glick. “Since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, the PA, Saudi Arabia and the EU have spent millions of dollars in financing illegal construction in Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, often on state and privately owned lands” (May 14). (Brad MacDonald, One Building at a Time, July 2007.)

In the Jerusalem Post, Caroline Glick discusses the behind-the-scenes powers at play.... (State of Emergency in Lebanon, September 23, 2007.)

“Perhaps Israel’s greatest diplomatic failure since 2000,” Caroline Glick wrote in a Jerusalem Post column, “has been its failure to disavow Barak’s offers and remove them from the negotiating table. Once Arafat refused Barak’s far-reaching concessions and chose instead to launch a war against the Jewish state, Israel had numerous opportunities to make clear these concessions were no longer on offer. Disavowing them is crucial not simply because they are diplomatically unwise. They are strategically suicidal” (October 4). (Stephen Flurry, Can This Man Save Israel?, October 29, 2007.)

As Caroline Glick wrote, “Abbas’s stances are a reflection of his inability to make any concessions for peace” (Jerusalem Post, October 4; emphasis mine throughout). ...
Noting the one huge difference between today and the 2000 talks, Caroline Glick wrote, “Seven years ago, Barak’s offer of territory was based on the expectation that in exchange for territory the Palestinians would eschew terror and live at peace with Israel. Today, after seven years of war that was largely directed by Fatah, after Hamas’s takeover of Gaza and Iran’s takeover of Hamas, this expectation is no longer realistic. By offering Barak’s concessions for a second time, Olmert isn’t simply offering land. He is sending the message that Israel neither expects nor demands that the Palestinian state live at peace with Israel” (op. cit.). ...
“Perhaps Israel’s greatest diplomatic failure since 2000,” Glick wrote in her column, “has been its failure to disavow Barak’s offers and remove them from the negotiating table. Once Arafat refused Barak’s far-reaching concessions and chose instead to launch a war against the Jewish state, Israel had numerous opportunities to make clear these concessions were no longer on offer. Disavowing them is crucial not simply because they are diplomatically unwise. They are strategically suicidal” (op. cit.). (Stephen Flurry, Can This Man Save Israel?, November-December 2007.)

On Friday, Caroline Glick wrote in her column for the Jerusalem Post,  .... [A quotation follows.] (The Weekend Web, December 2, 2007.)

On Friday, November 30, Caroline Glick wrote in her column for the Jerusalem Post (emphasis mine throughout).... [A quotation follows.]
Caroline Glick wrote....   [A quotation follows.] (Gerald Flurry, Annapolis: Hitler’s Kind of Peace!, December 10, 2007.)

At the Jerusalem Post, Caroline Glick highlights the frightening trend of “lawyerizing” life in Israel. [A quotation follows.] (The Weekend Web, December 23, 2007.)

In 2006, a separate survey sponsored by the privately funded Office for Public Inquiries for East Jerusalem confirmed that Palestinian Arabs have constructed 20,000 to 40,000 illegal structures throughout Jerusalem. But what was most revealing in this report, poignantly analyzed by Caroline Glick in the Jerusalem Post in May 2007, was that the large majority of the illegal construction occurred with virtually no opposition from the listless Israeli government.
One of the most alarming points to note in this series of reports and articles is the details about the political motivation behind the illegal construction, and who is sponsoring, even financing, the illegal activities. “The political aim of the illegal construction is made clear by its financing sources,” reported Glick. “Since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, the PA, Saudi Arabia and the EU have spent millions of dollars in financing illegal construction in Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, often on state and privately owned lands.” (Brad MacDonald, Remodeling Jerusalem, January 17, 2008.)

In the wake of the Annapolis peace talks, Caroline Glick wrote: “This week the Bush administration legitimized Arab anti-Semitism. In an effort to please the Saudis and their Arab brothers, the Bush administration agreed to physically separate the Jews from the Arabs at the Annapolis conference in a manner that aligns with the apartheid policies of the Arab world which prohibit Israelis from setting foot on Arab soil.” (Brad MacDonald, Holocaust Hypocrisy, January 31, 2008.)

On Nov. 30, 2007, Caroline Glick wrote in her column for the Jerusalem Post: “This week the Bush administration legitimized Arab anti-Semitism. In an effort to please the Saudis and their Arab brothers, the Bush administration agreed to physically separate the Jews from the Arabs at the Annapolis conference in a manner that aligns with the apartheid policies of the Arab world which prohibit Israelis from setting foot on Arab soil.
“Evident everywhere, the discrimination against Israel received its starkest expression at the main assembly of the Annapolis conference on Tuesday. There, in accordance with Saudi demands, the Americans prohibited Israeli representatives from entering the hall through the same door as the Arabs. …
“It is true that Israel has security concerns, but as far as [U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza] Rice is concerned, the Palestinians are the innocent victims. They are the ones who are discriminated against and humiliated, not [Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi] Livni, who was forced—by Rice—to enter the conference through the service entrance” (emphasis mine throughout)....
Caroline Glick wrote, “Israel’s humiliated foreign minister did not receive support from her American counterpart. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who spent her childhood years in the segregated American South, sided with the Arabs. Although polite enough to note that she doesn’t support the slaughter of Israelis, she made no bones about the fact that her true sympathies lie with the racist Arabs.
“As she put it, ‘I know what it is like to hear that you cannot go on a road or through a checkpoint because you are a Palestinian. I understand the feeling of humiliation and powerlessness.’
“Rice’s remarks make clear that for the secretary of state there is no difference between Israelis trying to defend themselves from a jihadist Palestinian society which supports the destruction of the Jewish state and bigoted white Southerners who oppressed African Americans because of the color of their skin” (ibid.). (Gerald Flurry, America Is Copying Chamberlain’s Mistakes, February 2008.)

Ehud Olmert, however, seems safe—at least temporarily. Why? Caroline Glick noted that after Winograd’s interim report directly assigned blame to three individuals—Olmert, Amir Peretz (then defense minister), and Dan Halutz, the IDF chief of staff—two of them, Peretz and Halutz, were forced to resign. “But Olmert held on and quietly conspired against his own committee,” she wrote, speaking of the fact that Olmert had commissioned the group to begin with. “With Olmert’s backing, the IDF’s solicitor-general Col. Orna David repeatedly petitioned the Supreme Court and secured rulings prohibiting the Winograd Committee from recommending that Olmert or anyone else be compelled to resign for their dereliction of duty.” (Joel Hilliker, Evaluating Israel’s Errors, February 13, 2008.)

At the Jerusalem Post, Caroline Glick also highlights what Mughniyeh was planning, as opposed to his past crimes. “Most of the reports of his death treated Mughniyeh as a has-been,” she wrote. “Coverage was devoted to his attacks against American, Israeli and Jewish targets in the 1980s and early 1990s. Yet at the time of his death, Mughniyeh remained one of the most dangerous and prolific terror operatives in the world.” ...
They reacted differently to the news of Mughniyeh’s death, Caroline Glick writes.... [A Quotation follows.](Stephen Flurry, The Weekend Web, February 17, 2008.)

Today, it is widely recognized that al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist groups have stationed themselves throughout Europe, Britain and even America. Attacks are imminent. In January, during a raid on a Paris apartment occupied by a Hezbollah cell, French officials reportedly seized documents, including tourist maps of Paris, London, Madrid and Rome marked with red highlighter showing routes, addresses, parking lots and truck-stopping points. Among the documents, as Caroline Glick noted, were “maps point[ing] to several routes to Vatican back entrances.” (Brad MacDonald, Resurrecting the Spirit of the Crusades, April 17, 2008.)

Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Caroline Glick made an interesting observation in her column about Obama’s position.... [A quotation follows.] Glick also makes some interesting points about how President Bush’s administration has been weakened since 2001 and how it may be setting the stage for even more radical policies during a possible Obama administration. It’s worth reading in its entirety. (Stephen Flurry and Richard Palmer, This Week in Jerusalem, July 25, 2008.)

Israelis are not the only ones impacted by the mistakes of Israel’s current government, Caroline Glick wrote today. ...  Jordan, Glick wrote, can’t be seen in the Arab world as being harsher with terrorist prisoners than Israel. (Stephen Flurry and Richard Palmer, Jerusalem Watch: Syria Seeks Missiles From Russia, August 22, 2008.)

This inversion of the intent of international law, as Caroline Glick notes at the Jerusalem Post, fails to protect the state that is under attack. It rather shields the aggressors from retaliation. (Stephen Flurry, Jerusalem Watch: Hamas Sure Was Busy During Ceasefire, November 21, 2008.)

Even now, without a bomb, Iran almost daily reminds us that we are living in a very different world than it was even 15 or 20 years ago. As Caroline Glick wrote in the Jerusalem Post recently.... [A quotation follows.]
Do you get the sense that some people—perhaps many—see the extreme danger ahead if we fail to alter our course? “Unless something changes soon,” Glick concluded, “the consequences of the jihadist-multicultural alliance will be suffered by millions and millions of people.” (Stephen Flurry, Are We Living in the Last Days?, December 5, 2008.)

Yet, despite these realities on the ground, as Caroline Glick recently noted, “President-elect Barack Obama will move quickly to place massive pressure on the next Israeli government to withdraw from Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem and the Golan Heights in the interests of advancing a ‘peace process’ with the Palestinians and the Syrians.” In another column, Glick wrote.... [A quotation follows.] ....
Back in July, on the heels of Barack Obama’s much ballyhooed visit to Israel, Caroline Glick told National Review that while Obama would simply roll over a left-leaning Israeli government.... [A quotation follows.] (Stephen Flurry, The U.S.-Israeli Collision Course Is Near, December 26, 2008.)

He sees radical Islam seeking confrontation with Catholicism! “Both Iran and its Hamas proxy in Gaza have been busy this Christmas week showing Christendom just what they think of it,” Caroline Glick wrote last week. “On Tuesday Hamas legislators marked the Christmas season by passing a sharia criminal code for the Palestinian Authority. Among other things, the code legalizes crucifixion.” Hamas now endorses nailing the enemies of Islam to the cross! (Brad MacDonald, The Crusades Are Critical History, January 1, 2009.)

Caroline Glick wrote something similar in the Jerusalem Post: “Iran daily threatens to destroy the U.S., annihilate Israel, close the Straits of Hormuz, use nuclear weapons and proliferate nuclear weapons to other states. … Yet one of the first foreign-policy initiatives promised by the incoming Obama administration is to attempt to diplomatically engage Iran with the aim of striking a grand bargain with the mullahs.” She concluded, “Unless something changes soon, the consequences of the jihadist-multicultural alliance will be suffered by millions and millions of people” (Dec. 2, 2008). (Stephen Flurry, Are We Living in the Last Days?, February 2009.)

The international community has promised $5.2 billion in aid to help Gaza rebuild, with $900 million of that coming from the United States. Many are concerned, however, that the money will benefit Hamas, both directly and indirectly. A large part of the aid is expected to be given to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)—which systematically provides political cover for Hamas. “UNRWA openly collaborates with Hamas,” wrote Caroline Glick in the Jerusalem Post. “Its workers double as Hamas combatants. Its refugee camps and schools are used as Hamas training bases and missile launch sites.” (The Week in Review, March 7, 2009.)

Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick wrote last Friday that the Obama administration.... [A quotation follows.] (Brad MacDonald, Duped by a Smile, March 12, 2009.)

The political aim of the illegal construction is made clear by its financing sources, Caroline Glick reported in the Jerusalem Post in 2007: “Since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, the PA, Saudi Arabia and the EU have spent millions of dollars in financing illegal construction in Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, often on state and privately owned lands” (May 14, 2007; emphasis mine throughout). ...
Glick answers: “In an effort to degrade the Jewish character of [Jerusalem] …” (op. cit.). (Brad MacDonald, Who Put These Poor Palestinians in Harm’s Way?, May 29, 2009.)

But why speak as though that technology isn’t being exported? North Korea’s links with Iran’s nuclear program are well documented. The nuclear site in Syria that Israel destroyed in September 2007 was running North Korean technology. “North Korea’s nuclear program, with its warhead, missile and technological components … endangers not just the likes of Japan and South Korea, but all nations whose territory and interests are within range of Iranian and Syrian missiles,” wrote Caroline Glick. How is this not yet considered a “grave threat”? ...
“This point was brought home clearly by both Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s immediate verbal response to the North Korean nuclear test on Monday and by Iran’s provocative launch of warships in the Gulf of Aden the same day,” wrote Glick. (Joel Hilliker, Happy Memorial Day. I Have a Nuclear Bomb., June 3, 2009.)

Jerusalem Post journalist Caroline Glick reported that George Mitchell, one of the U.S. State Department’s peace envoys trying to bring peace to Israel, has said that for all these past years Israel has been lying to the United States! Most authorities know that is shamefully untrue. (Gerald Flurry, How President Obama’s Cairo Speech Will Shake the Nations, August 2009.)

At the current pace, Caroline Glick believes, Iran will have sufficient quantities of uranium to build two atomic bombs by February. (Stephen Flurry, Surrendering to Iran, September 18, 2009.)

It was President Obama who insisted Israel cease all construction. Yet when Netanyahu obliged him and announced the 10-month freeze, he was greeted with news the following day in Yediot Aharonot that Obama’s administration “now wants Israel to release a thousand Fatah terrorists from prison,” Caroline Glick wrote. “The Americans also want Israel to allow U.S.-trained, terror supporting Fatah paramilitary forces to deploy in areas that are currently under Israeli military control. Moreover, the Americans are demanding that Israel surrender land in the strategically crucial Jordan Valley to Fatah” (November 27). And President Obama expects all of that from Israel before it even starts negotiations with the Palestinians. ...
Even by agreeing to negotiate with Hamas, Glick pointed out, “Netanyahu conferred legitimacy not only on the terror group, but on the act of taking hostages. After all, until Hamas had Shalit, no government in Israel was willing to cut a deal with it.” (Joel Hilliker, What Is Benjamin Netanyahu Thinking?, December 23, 2009.)

That relationship, as well as the one with Israel, has turned extremely chilly during the Obama presidency, as the Trumpet has documented in recent issues. A shocking example occurred in November, during a visit to D.C. by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Caroline Glick reported, “It isn’t every day that a visiting leader from a strategically vital U.S. ally is brought into the White House in an unmarked van in the middle of the night rather than greeted like a friend at the front door; is forbidden to have his picture taken with the president; is forced to leave the White House alone, through a side exit; and is ordered to keep the contents of his meeting with the president secret” (Jerusalem Post, Nov. 13, 2009). (Joel Hilliker, Heralding the End of an Empire, February 2010.)

“Since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, the PA, Saudi Arabia and the EU have spent millions of dollars in financing illegal construction in Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, often on state and privately owned lands,” reported Caroline Glick in the Jerusalem Post (May 14, 2007). ...
Glick answers: “In an effort to degrade the Jewish character of [Jerusalem]” (op. cit.). (Brad MacDonald, Silwan: The Untold Story, March 4, 2010.)

Already Israel is now seriously considering asking the EU to send monitors to Gaza’s border crossings (Jerusalem Post, June 21). This would be “a first step towards surrendering its sovereign control over its borders,” explained Caroline Glick. ...
By siding with Hamas against Israel, as Glick noted on June 15, the West also backed Hamas against Fatah. This is why, in a meeting with President Obama after the flotilla incident, Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas insisted that the West should not act in a way that could be construed as a Hamas victory. He actually said the blockade should not be lifted—and that additional aid should be delivered through land crossings rather than by sea!
But rather than side with the more moderate Palestinian faction, U.S. President Barack Obama chose to stick with Hamas. During Abbas’s visit to Washington, President Obama announced that America would be sending $450 million in aid to Hamas. “So too,” Glick wrote, “Abbas is forced to cheer as Obama pressures Israel to give Hamas an outlet to the sea. This will render it impossible for Fatah to ever unseat Hamas either by force or at the ballot box. Hamas’s international clout demonstrates to the Palestinians that jihad pays. (Stephen Flurry, Israel the Outcast, August 2010.)

As columnist Caroline Glick recently noted, “Obama is so firm in his belief that Jews should be denied civil rights in Israel’s capital and in the heartland of Jewish history that he has provoked multiple crises in his relations with Israel to advance this bigoted view. Almost from his first day in office Obama has struck out a radical position in which he has insisted that Jews must be prohibited from building anything—synagogues, homes, nurseries, schools—in Judea, Jerusalem and Samaria on land they own. Jews—Israeli and non-Israeli—should be barred from exercising their property rights even if their construction plans have already been approved ‘in accordance with local laws and ordinances.’”
Last week, according to Glick, Mahmoud Abbas described his Jew-free vision of a future Palestinian state: “I will not agree that there will be Jews among nato forces and I will not allow even one Israeli to live amongst us on the Palestinian soil.” ...
What these events actually reveal is a shameful and dangerous double standard that, as Glick pointed out, favors Muslim rights over the values of most Americans and turns a blind eye to Palestinian racism while denying Jews their civil rights. (Stephen Flurry, Ground Zero Mosque: A Shameful Double Standard, August 20, 2010.)

Meanwhile, Israeli officials said Israel was considering asking the European Union to monitor Gaza’s land crossings. This would represent “a first step towards [Israel] surrendering its sovereign control over its borders,” wrote Caroline Glick in the Jerusalem Post (June 21). (WorldWatch, September 2010.)

America’s decision to abdicate leadership is having a disastrous effect on the Middle East, and has resulted in what Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick terms “strategic dementia.” Motivated by a deeply rooted anti-imperialist agenda, “the overarching goal of Obama’s foreign policy has been to end U.S. global hegemony.”
The result? America’s president “looks to the UN as a vehicle for tethering the U.S. superpower” and “views U.S. allies in the Middle East and around the world with suspicion because he feels that as U.S. allies, they are complicit with U.S. imperialism,” writes Glick. (Brad MacDonald, The World Is Coming Apart—Where Is America?, March 24, 2011.)

The response from the White House was a little more nuanced. However, despite intense opposition from many within Congress who consider the unity government a joke, it seems many, including some key players in the peace process, consider the unity government a genuine opportunity for peace! As the Jerusalem Post’s Caroline Glick wrote, the “signals emanating from the White House and its allied media indicate that Obama is ready to plow forward” and “make the case for demanding that Israel surrender Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to Hamas and its partners in Fatah.” ...
This reality was explained by Caroline Glick Tuesday: “The assertion that Israel’s establishment was a catastrophe for the Arabs makes clear that the Palestinian leadership has no interest in living at peace with Israel. … If Israel’s existence is the Palestinian catastrophe, then obviously, every patriotic Palestinian must seek Israel’s destruction.” (Brad MacDonald, Hitler, the Palestinians and the West, May 19, 2011.)

“Quite simply, Obama’s speech represents the effective renunciation of the U.S.’s right to have and to pursue national interests,” Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick wrote last week. “Consequently, his speech imperils the real interests that the U.S. has in the region—first and foremost, the U.S.’s interest in securing its national security.” (Brad MacDonald, Is President Obama Breaking the Brotherhood?, May 26, 2011.)

Although tomorrow’s mass protests could get ugly, they are unlikely to elicit many significant changes. Despite what you hear in the Western media, Egypt’s pro-democracy activists, the thousands of people protesting in the streets in February, do not hold the reins of power. In fact, that responsibility hardly even rests with Egypt’s military council anymore. In Egypt today, as the Jerusalem Post’s Caroline Glick wrote recently, “neither the military nor the protesters are calling the shots anymore .…”
Rather, Glick wrote, ruling Egypt is now the “job of the Muslim Brotherhood.” (Brad MacDonald, The March of the Brotherhood, July 7, 2011.)

However, behind the scenes, there is evidence that Turkey is pushing for much more dramatic changes. According to the Jerusalem Post’s Caroline Glick, Turkey has been actively interfering in the revolt against Assad. Meanwhile, Turkish humanitarian relief agencies are hosting Syrian opposition leaders in Turkey. ...

“Erdogan’s clear aim is to replace Iran as Syria’s overlord in a post-Assad Syria,” says Glick. (Robert Morley, The Battle for Syria, August 2, 2011.)

Though the intimidation and humiliation of Israelis visiting Turkey marks a new low point in the Israel-Turkey relationship, there is more at stake. As the Jerusalem Post’s Caroline Glick wrote on Monday, “No, Israel wasn’t the target audience the Turks were playing to on Monday. Their target audience was the Islamic world generally and the Arab world specifically” (emphasis added throughout).
In her column, Glick recalled Turkey’s strategy over recent years to shed its moderate identity and reposition itself as a more conservative Islamic state. Needless to say, the chief means of appealing to the Muslim world has been to fire regular volleys at the Jewish state. “Given how well scapegoating Israel has served him, [Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip] Erdogan clearly believes it is a no-risk strategy for raising his star from Cairo to Algiers,” Glick wrote. ...
We need to recognize that what we are experiencing now is the beginning, not the end, of Turkey’s slide into the enemy camp,” Glick wrote. “Erdogan is openly taking steps to transform Turkey into an Islamic state along the lines of Iran. And the further he goes down his chosen path, the more harshly and aggressively he will lash out at Israel.” (Turkey Humiliates Israel, Courts Radical Islam, September 7, 2011.)

On Tuesday, Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick endorsed similar measures. Israel “must prepare for the possibility of war,” she warned. “It must increase the size of the idf by adding a division to the Southern Command. It must train for desert warfare. It must expand the Navy.” ...
Turkey’s growing animosity toward Israel is deeply sobering. As Caroline Glick wrote recently, “We need to recognize that what we are experiencing now is the beginning, not the end, of Turkey’s slide into the enemy camp. Erdoğan is openly taking steps to transform Turkey into an Islamic state along the lines of Iran. And the further he goes down his chosen path, the more harshly and aggressively he will lash out at Israel” (emphasis added). (Brad MacDonald, Israel Enters Nightmare Scenario, September 15, 2011.)

For now, Syria needs Turkish support, so Ottoman influence in Syria will probably grow. But according to Stratfor analysts, Erdoğan’s party wants Syria’s Islamist organizations to gain political space—with the goal of becoming their eventual sponsor. “Erdoğan’s clear aim is to replace Iran as Syria’s overlord in a post-Assad Syria,” says Glick. (The Battle for Syria, October 2011.)

Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick endorsed similar measures. Israel “must prepare for the possibility of war,” she warned. “It must increase the size of the idf by adding a division to the Southern Command. It must train for desert warfare. It must expand the Navy” (September 12). ...
The loss of Turkey as a more moderate Arab state and Ankara’s growing animosity toward Israel is deeply concerning for the Jews. As Caroline Glick wrote, “[W]e need to recognize that what we are experiencing now is the beginning, not the end, of Turkey’s slide into the enemy camp. Erdoğan is openly taking steps to transform Turkey into an Islamic state along the lines of Iran. And the further he goes down his chosen path, the more harshly and aggressively he will lash out at Israel” (ibid, September 5). (Brad MacDonald, Breaking Down the Wall, November-December 2011.)

Head a little farther east and we come to Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood and hardline Islamist political parties trounced their competitors in parliamentary elections last November and December. In the first two rounds of voting, Egypt’s Islamist parties garnered nearly 70 percent of the vote! It’s now abundantly clear, lamented Caroline Glick last December, that “Egypt is on the fast track to becoming a totalitarian Islamic state” (emphasis added throughout). (Brad MacDonald, Ethiopia in the Crosshairs, February 2012.)

He filmed it all, as Caroline Glick noted, because he “took pride in killing Jewish children.” And beyond that, “he was certain that millions of people would be heartened by his crime. By watching him shoot the life out of Jewish children, they would be inspired to repeat his actions elsewhere.”
Given the popularity of such videos on jihadist websites, it’s hard to argue with Glick’s conclusion. (Stephen Flurry, Race to War, May-June 2012.)

Caroline Glick of the Jerusalem Post made some important points recently about Olmert’s unpopularity here in Israel and the media frenzy surrounding these charges of corruption.
Olmert deserves to be harshly criticized, Glick says. Objectively speaking, he was the worst prime minister that Israel has ever had, she wrote. “Olmert lost the war with Hezbollah in 2006. He lost Israel’s campaign against Hamas in 2008-2009. He failed to block Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. He weakened Israel’s international position and its alliance with the U.S. And so on and so forth” (July 11).
But what’s even more despicable than Olmert’s failures as prime minister, Glick points out, is how the media rushed to crucify a weak leader, rather than accept blame for its own crucial role in Israel’s string of defeats. (Stephen Flurry, Ehud Olmert and Israel’s Leftist Media, July 13, 2012.)

For a closer look at this incredible article from my father in 2009, as well as Caroline Glick’s insightful commentary on where this approach from the Obama administration has gotten us today.... (Stephen Flurry, The spectacular failure of America’s Muslim outreach, July 15, 2012.)

On Sunday, Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick wrote that “today Morsi completed the Egyptian revolution. Egypt is now an Islamic state. Its leaders drink from the same well as al Qaeda, Hamas and all the rest. Egypt, with its U.S. armed military, has reemerged after 30 years as the greatest military threat that Israel has ever faced.” (Brad MacDonald, Egypt: Morsi Sheds His Moderate Cloak, August 16, 2012.)

Israel’s enemies, in other words, are gaining ground—and fast! And it doesn’t seem to bother Israel’s traditional ally in Washington. As Caroline Glick commented in the Jerusalem Post, “The U.S.’s astounding sanguinity in the face of Morsi’s completion of the Islamization of Egypt is an illustration of everything that is wrong and dangerous about U.S. Middle East policy today” (August 16).
 ...
America, it seems, is oblivious to the dangers of exposing Israel’s southern border to an increasingly hostile Islamic regime. As Glick laments, “Obama administration officials have behaved as though nothing has happened, or even as though Morsi’s moves are positive developments” (ibid).
(Stephen Flurry, Is Morsi Using Sinai Instability to Break Peace Treaty With Israel?, August 20, 2012.)

Watching events in Egypt during August, Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick wrote one of the most alarming articles you could ever read. “On Sunday [August 12], new president Mohammed Morsi completed Egypt’s transformation into an Islamist state,” she wrote (August 16; emphasis added throughout).
Glick was referring to President Morsi firing the commanders of the Egyptian military, which was his only real opposition in the country, and replacing them with Muslim Brotherhood loyalists—then doing the same with all the editors of the state-owned media.
The radical terrorist Muslim Brotherhood is now in control of Egypt! And to think, members of both of America’s political parties helped bring this about!
“Morsi gave himself full control over the writing of Egypt’s new constitution,” Glick continued. She quoted Israel’s former ambassador to Egypt as explaining that, with these moves, Morsi “now holds dictatorial powers surpassing by far those of erstwhile president Hosni Mubarak.”...
“Egypt will certainly seek to export its Islamic revolution to other countries,” Glick warned.Exactly right. That is just what will happen—and it is exactly what is prophesied: Egypt is going to export its revolution to Libya and Ethiopia. This is already well underway in Libya. ...
“The U.S.’s astounding sanguinity in the face of Morsi’s completion of the Islamization of Egypt is an illustration of everything that is wrong and dangerous about U.S. Middle East policy today,” Glick wrote. Can anybody logically disagree?
Ms. Glick lives in Israel, and she knows how dangerous it is now. ...
Egypt’s transformation into a radical Islamist state will also have enormous consequences for America. “The U.S. is far more vulnerable to interruptions in the shipping lanes in the Suez Canal than Israel is,” Glick explained. Yes, Egypt controls the Suez Canal, and it can impost a high tax on the oil or do just about anything it wants to. That bodes very badly for the United States. (Gerald Flurry, Egypt Unites With Iran
and Fulfills a Bible Prophecy, October-November 2012.)

A recent article in The Jerusalem Post by Caroline Glick talks about the subject that this prophecy covers, and it shows precisely how this prophecy is being fulfilled today! (Gerald Flurry, The Key of David, Judah's Wound, December 9, 2012.)

Although they don’t see its connection to the prophecy in Hosea 5, some people are beginning to see what a wound the land-for-peace process is. Here is what journalist Caroline Glick wrote on Nov. 23, 2012.... [A quotation follows.] Though she probably doesn’t realize it, Glick is talking about what the Bible calls Judah’s “wound.” ...
This scripture is talking about a falsehood or fraud involving a peace pact. Caroline Glick calls it a “fake peace process.” God calls it “a wound under thee.” Glick calls it a “strategic trap.” God calls it a snare. It looks good, yet it is a deception.  ...
Do you recognize how precisely this prophecy is being fulfilled? Glick’s words are almost biblical! She is saying the same thing that the Bible prophesied in precise detail and that is now coming to pass. (Gerald Flurry, The Profound Secret of an Ancient Prophecy, February 2013.)

Caroline Glick wrote, “Obama wants to hurt Israel. He does not like Israel. He is appointing anti-Israel advisers and cabinet members not despite their anti-Israel positions, but because of them. … Obama wants to fundamentally transform the U.S. relationship with Israel. … [T]he most urgent order of business for Israelis is to stop deluding ourselves in thinking that under Obama the U.S. can be trusted” (Dec. 16, 2012). (Gerald Flurry, The Hidden Cause of Society’s Deadly Decline, March 2013.)

Caroline Glick, who I believe is Israel’s best columnist, expressed bewilderment over it: “Given that all of these [policies toward Israel] are positions he has held throughout his presidency, the mystery surrounding his decision to come to Israel only grows,” she wrote in a March 20 column. “He didn’t need to come to Israel to rehash policies we already know” (emphasis mine throughout).
She noted that the president also didn’t come to apologize for the anti-Israel policies of his first term. His administration still speaks about its support for the Arab Spring as if it was excellent policy, even after we can see how it empowered radicals within Libya, Egypt and other countries. This has put Israel’s very survival in jeopardy!
Glick drew attention to one revealing detail of the trip: the president’s choice of speaking venues. On one hand, he turned down an invitation to speak before Israel’s elected representatives at the Knesset, which is highly unusual. On the other hand, he chose “to address a handpicked audience of university students—an audience grossly overpopulated by unelectable, radical leftists.” President Obama really identifies with academics, intellectuals and radicals. He went to Israel to speak to these radical leftist students, and that is where he got a lot of the television coverage. He actually denied a couple of colleges that wanted to send students that were more on the conservative side.
As Glick pointed out, “What we can say with certainty is that the administration that supports the ‘democratically elected’ Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and did so much to clear all obstacles to its election, is snubbing the democratically elected Israeli government, and indeed, Israel’s elected officials in general.” Mr. Obama has invited the Muslim Brotherhood to the White House. He visited Cairo to address all of Egypt and insisted that the Muslim Brotherhood attend, against then President Hosni Mubarak’s wishes. Yet he won’t visit the Knesset in Israel! Isn’t that strange? It certainly proves that we can’t take what this man says at face value.
Glick considers it a mystery. But there is a definite reason behind the president’s choices. (Gerald Flurry, The Mystery of President Obama’s Visit to Israel, May-June 2013.)

According to Caroline Glick, “The Egyptian military is now fighting Hamas in Sinai. The military-backed government blames the Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood branch for fomenting the Islamist insurgency there. Egyptian forces have destroyed much of the tunnel network linking Gaza with Sinai that had enabled the cross-traffic of terrorists and munitions between the areas. This week, Egypt announced plans to demarcate Egypt’s territorial waters along Gaza to prevent the transfer by sea of weapons and terror operatives between them.” (Brent Nagtegaal, Is Iran About to Lose Its Proxy Hamas?, October 15, 2013.)

Mr. Obama’s animosity for the Jewish state is even more overt. From the Cairo speech, to the appointment of anti-Israel officials in his administration, to his penchant for always siding with Israel’s enemies and always undermining of Israeli foreign policy, to the shunning of Israel’s leaders. The truth, as Caroline Glick wrote in December 2012 (and this week), is that President Obama “wants to hurt Israel. He does not like Israel. He is appointing anti-Israel advisers and cabinet members not despite their anti-Israel positions, but because of them. … Obama wants to fundamentally transform the U.S. relationship with Israel.” ...
What happened in Geneva reveals something deeply wrong with America! Neville Chamberlain wanted to stop Hitler. President Obama clearly has no intention of stopping Iran. America’s president, as Melanie Phillips, Caroline Glick and a few others have also written, is engaged in a war on Western civilization, including the United States and the Jewish state. The question is, where does that deadly sentiment originate? (Brad MacDonald, The Geneva Deal Is Worse Than You Know, December 3, 2013.)

Finally came what Israeli journalist Caroline Glick called “the most significant international event since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991″—Washington offered Tehran relief from the economic sanctions it is suffering for its nuclear program. What made this so significant? Glick explained: “The collapse of the Soviet Union signaled the rise of the United States as the sole global superpower. The developments in the six-party nuclear talks with Iran in Geneva last week signaled the end of American world leadership” (Nov. 14, 2013; emphasis added throughout). (Joel Hilliker, What Happens After a Superpower Dies?, January 2014.)

This scenario is by no means implausible, and many commentators already acknowledge its likelihood. “Six months will turn into eight months or 12 months,” the Jerusalem Post recently wrote, “and the Iranians will continue to play for time.” The result of this foot dragging, Caroline Glick said, “will be Iran with a nuclear bomb or nuclear arsenal in its basement, waiting for a propitious moment to conduct a nuclear weapons test or attack.” (Don Jacques, Is Iran Setting Itself Up for an Attack?, April 9, 2014.)

“Reasonable people disagree about the contribution the security fence makes to the security of the Israelis,” Caroline Glick wrote in the Jerusalem Post on May 28. “But no one can reasonably doubt that it was built to protect Israelis from Palestinian terrorist murderers. And Francis ought to know this. Francis’s decision to hold a photo op at the security barrier was an act of extreme hostility against Israel and the Jewish people.” That is exactly right! Yet almost nobody criticized Francis for this provocative act. ...
During Sunday mass on his trip, Pope Francis prayed with Fouad Twal, a Palestinian archbishop who serves as the Catholic Church’s Latin patriarch of Jerusalem. “In his sermon, Twal accused Israelis of being the present-day version of Christ-killers by referring to the Palestinians as walking in the footsteps of the divine child, and likening the Israelis to King Herod. In his words, ‘We are not yet done with the present-day Herods who fear peace more than war, and who are prepared to continue killing’” (Glick, op. cit.). ...
Caroline Glick wrote, “Francis stridently condemned the anti-Jewish attacks in Brussels and Paris. And during his ceremonial visits to Yad Vashem, the Wailing Wall, and the Terror Victims Memorial, he said similarly appropriate things. But all his statements ring hollow and false in light of his actions” (op. cit.).
This is one of the greatest journalists in the Jewish state today, and perhaps one of the best in the world. She sees through what the pope did and is not afraid to speak out about it. She concluded by saying: “Israelis and Jews around the world need to be aware of what is happening. Francis is leading the Catholic Church in a distressingly anti-Jewish direction.” ...
“In one of his blander pronouncements during the papal visit, Netanyahu mentioned on Monday that Jesus spoke Hebrew,” Glick wrote. “There was nothing incorrect about Netanyahu’s statement. Jesus was, after all, an Israeli Jew. But Francis couldn’t take the truth, so he indelicately interrupted his host, interjecting, ‘Aramaic!’ Netanyahu was probably flustered. True at the time, educated Jews spoke and wrote in Aramaic, and Jesus was educated, but the language of the people was Hebrew, and Jesus preached to the people in Hebrew. Netanyahu responded, ‘He spoke Aramaic, but He knew Hebrew’” (op. cit.). ...
“Reuters’ write-up of the incident tried to explain away the pope’s rudeness and historical revisionism, asserting, ‘Modern-day discourse about Jesus is complicated and often political,’” Glick continued. “The report went on to delicately mention, ‘Palestinians sometimes describe Jesus as Palestinian. Israelis object to that.’
“Israelis ‘object to that’ because it is a lie.” (Gerald Flurry, The Dark Side of the Pope’s Visit to Jerusalem, August 2014.)

For the Obama administration, what it really boils down to is a fear of what Netanyahu may achieve. Israeli reporter Caroline Glick stated, “More than anything, [President Obama’s actions] expose a deep-seated fear that Netanyahu will be successful in exposing the grave danger that Obama’s policies toward Iran and toward the Islamic world in general pose to the global security.” ...
As Glick noted in her article, the U.S. has already hinted at its desire to topple Netanyahu. Speaking before the Trilateral Commission, Secretary of State John Kerry threatened that Israel was destined to be an apartheid state if more concessions were not made to the Palestinians. He said, “If there is a change of government [in Israel], or a change of heart, something will happen.” (Callum Wood, Netanyahu: The Last Defense Against a Deal With Iran, March 2, 2015.)

U.S.-born Israeli journalist and writer Caroline Glick summarized the relationship this way: President Obama “wants to hurt Israel. He does not like Israel. He is appointing anti-Israel advisers and cabinet members not despite their anti-Israel positions, but because of them. … Obama wants to fundamentally transform the U.S. relationship with Israel” (Dec. 16, 2012). That was written over two years ago. The relationship has since gone from bad to worse. (Brad MacDonald, Breaking the Brotherhood, April 2015.)

He understands Israel’s security concerns. ... Current trends led Jerusalem Post deputy managing editor Caroline Glick to proclaim, “Today Israel’s closest ally is Egypt. Under Obama, the U.S. is a force to be worked around, not worked with” (February 5). (Brent Nagtegaal, Why Won’t the U.S. Embrace Egypt?, May-June 2015.)

Caroline Glick wrote: “The notion of jihad is fairly simple. It asserts that Islam is the only true religion. All other faiths are wrong and evil. It is the destiny of the one true faith to reign supreme. The duty of all Muslims is to facilitate Islam’s global rise and dominion. How this duty is borne varies. Some take up arms.” (Trumpet Hour, Week in Review: Europe’s Immigration Crisis, Russians in Syria, Chemical Warfare, EPA Power Grab, and More, September 5, 2015.)

“Rather than develop comprehensive plans for dealing with this enemy, the Americans, the Europeans and others have opted for a mix of policies running the spectrum from appeasement to whack-a-mole operations,” wrote Caroline Glick in a piece published on Tuesday. The Paris attacks are beginning to force Europe to confront this failure, while America continues in its delusion that everything is fine. (Stephen Flurry and Richard Palmer, Paris Attacks: A Milestone in European Unity, November 19, 2015.)

And so it is readily apparent that PCG's leaders are quite reliant upon and trusting of Caroline Glick's writings.

Rupert Murdoch Hates WCG? (1978)

Rupert Murdoch is a media mogul originating from Australia. His corporation, News Corporation, is connected with many media outlets including Fox News, The Times of London, Wall Street Journal, etc. His media outlets are usually viewed as being right wing.

But back in 1978 WCG's Stanley Rader accused Rupert Murdoch of hating WCG. Rader said the following while promoting the concert series sponsored by WCG.
I think it was summed up very well by a publication that has never been friendly to us. It is owned by Mr. [Rupert] Murdoch. Mr. Murdoch is a very wealthy controversial publisher from Australia who hates the Worldwide Church of God, and he has blasted us in every form he owns in Australia; and in every form that he owns in England. But, lo and behold, New West magazine, which he also owns, took a whole page last September [1977] and dedicated it to us. And it said, "Two years ago no one ever heard of the Worldwide Church of God." And then they went on to say, "Now, not only does everybody know about the Worldwide Church of God because of the concert series, but now everybody wonders what they believe." (Stanley Rader, Good News, October 9, 1978, p. 4.)

Remembering Land Day

On March 30, 1976 many Palestinian citizens of Israel protested plans by the Israeli government to expropriate about 40,000 dunams of land. Sadly Israeli police personnel  from the army and the police cracked down on these protests and six Palestinian citizens of Israel were killed. Since then these protests are commemorated every year by Palestinians as Land Day.

HWA's WCG mentioned these protests in one article published in August 1978. The article was scare mongering that the State of Israel would no longer be able to achieve a decisive victory in an armed confrontation. Among the reasons cited for this in the article was the Palestinian citizens of Israel in the Galilee. (In the article the death toll is listed as twelve but other sources have the death toll at six.)
As if all that were not enough, there is today a Palestinian Arab majority in Israeli western Galilee. It was quiet in the 1967 and 1973 wars, but the bitterness and violence of the 1976 Land Day riots, which were only put down at a cost of 12 dead, suggest that it may be, optimistic to count on this again. (Moshe Ben Simcha, Good News, August 28, 1978, p. 16.)
They were not riots. Those Palestinian citizens of Israel were protesters trying to prevent the Israeli government from expropriating 40,000 dunams of land.

It is unfortunate that the violent deaths of twelve people is here portrayed simply as a threat to the State of Israel. What about the lives of these people? What about their families and friends?

WCG's Good News provides the following information about the author.
Moshe Ben Simcha, a member of the Church living in Israel, is a researcher and Middle East affairs correspondent for the Jerusalem Post. (Good News, August 28, 1978, p. 16.)
He wrote one other article discussing Saudi Arabia in the October 9, 1978 issue of Good News. He appears not to have written anything else for HWA's WCG. Perhaps he learned that HWA was not all he claimed to be and quietly left.

Ron Fraser's Sexist Attitude About Women

In mid-2013 PCG's Ron Fraser wrote an article entitled "Become a Man, My Son!" (July 11, 2013). In this article he talks about men, women and children.

Let us see what Ron Fraser had to say.
Growing up in the immediate post-war years had its advantage in that society was generally not confused over gender roles. Men were to be masculine and women to be feminine. That was generally unquestioned in Anglo-Saxon society in the 1940s and 50s. As a consequence, men and women generally reflected the time-worn attributes of their sex by the way they spoke, dressed and comported themselves socially.

At the schools I attended in the ’40s and 50s, no one was labeled as being a “queer,” nor did I not know of any of my fellow students having parents affected by divorce.
Back then homosexuality was illegal. So of necessity such persons kept these things only to those they trusted. It is safe to assume that there were homosexuals he knew in his early years but they were not open about it because of the social and legal stigma against them.
By the time my eldest son went to high school in the ’70s, half of the youth in his class came from families where divorce had dislocated the family structure. It took just one generation to achieve that infamy in Anglo-Saxon society.
This ignores the fact that there were many problems that also existed in Ron Fraser's early years.
We are witness today to a great confusion which has set in with respect to the meaning of marriage and family and the definitions of traditional gender roles in society at large.
In other words Fraser is annoyed that people no longer view things the way most people did in his childhood days.
The result is that few truly know what it means to be a real man or to be a real woman as God designed and intended us to be. The fallout has drastically affected the ability of men in society to lead. To lead effectively in any institution, be it marriage, family, a corporate situation, a military role or any responsible function in society at large. ...
Note that God prophesies that it will be the traditional male roles that will disappear in our day.
But fear not, Fraser proclaims. PCG has the answers for men anxious that their masculinity will somehow be questioned and denigrated, according to Fraser.
How did the denigration of masculinity start?

We live today in a greatly feminized society.
What is Fraser really saying here? There were plenty of women back in his early days in the 1940s and 1950s. What changes he is complaining about?
It really started in Anglo-Saxon society with what Gertrude Himmelfarb calls in her masterful treatise “The De-moralization of Society” the “new” men and “women” of the 1880s and 1890s.

As in the Garden of Eden with the first attempt at “liberalizing” woman, the move to change God-given gender roles started with a certain kind of woman which Himmelfarb describes as wanting “more by way of liberation than bicycling, smoking, or reading risqué books—who sought nothing less than sexual liberation.”
So it is seen that here Fraser simplistically associates feminism with sexual promiscuity. This is terribly simplistic.
Since those early women’s lib proponents of the latter 19th and early 20th century, the feminist lobby has steadily pushed and prodded its way into the traditional male realms of yesteryear, invading and in some cases even coming to dominate them.
What nonsense. The facts are very much against Fraser on this matter. Things have somewhat improved but in so many ways women are still disadvantaged compared to men in most professions. These words are directed at men who do not like seeing women in positions of power.
This is the age of women—whom God made, deliberately, the physically weaker sex—competing with men, and to their shame, at times beating them even in traditional male physical activities.
Why is that "wrong"? There are so many fields of endeavor that one can learn to do well in. It is perfectly reasonable to expect that at times some women will learn to do one thing or another better than most men, even in work usually viewed as pertaining to males.

This is vile sexism. These words are made to make the men in PCG feel ashamed of themselves if they should somehow be outdone in any way by a woman. This is an irrational fear. A man should not be angry and bitter that a woman should happen to advance ahead of him in some way. Rather he should respect her as an equal.
The recruitment of women into our armed forces in combat roles is, perhaps, not only the worst case scenario in this respect, but also the very worst of examples to our young men and women in terms of gender role destruction.
Once again PCG's leaders condemn women serving in the armed forces. But again bizarrely no mention is made of the fact that unfortunately the sexual harassment of women serving in the armed forces seems to be widespread. Why doesn't he bring up that matter? Is the horror of sexual harassment against female members of the US armed services somehow unworthy of his attention?
Common sense should tell us that the normal physical structure of the male body as God designed it casts him naturally in the role of physical protector of the woman, who is naturally created without the muscle mass that is distributed over a male frame. So what does the perversity of feminism do to counter this natural phenomenon?

It encourages women to go off to the gym in an effort to develop manly abs and biceps.

In a better age, women’s sport was quite different to that of the man.

Today the women want to play to men’s rules. Not only that, they want to play like the men!
This is vile sexism. What is "wrong" with a woman wishing to take care of her body by doing physical exercises. Why on Earth does Fraser insinuate that women somehow want to be like men in doing such things? That seems like a very strange accusation.
In the most extreme cases, such women even change their natural affection for a perversion of their sexual role ....
Homosexuality does not work like that.
In the corporate world, women have “muscled” their way into the boardroom and in many cases have taken over the traditional male role of ceo.
This is vile sexism. What is "wrong" with a woman advancing her career just like any man? It is shameful that Fraser should try to vilify women working hard and enjoying what their hard work earned.
A book I have on my shelf espousing effective corporate management techniques, written by a male theorist, even substitutes “she” and “her” for the traditional male form of addressing a theoretical corporate leader.
I have encountered writings like that before. Partly such men do that because they wish to show women that they respect women as equals. Such men also know that some sexist men will be offended. In that sense it succeeded in offending Fraser. Such authors hope that reading such words will make men like Fraser contemplate why they happen to feel like this. But it seems that Fraser failed to reconsider his attitudes and instead lashed out against such authors in this article.
All of these trends have led to the increasing isolation of real, strong, masculine leadership in our society as a blanket of feminization has descended over it.
If Fraser really believes this then he describes a strange fantasy world that does not exist. These words are nonsense. Treating women as equals does not somehow emasculate men. Rather such men show that they respect women as equals.

It is a terribly poor form of "manliness" if a man needs to feel superior to women by knowing that certain careers and positions in society are somehow forbidden to women and available only to men like himself. That is vile sexism. Many women suffer because some men choose to bear this hostility against women.
By the very nature of things in our society, it is the woman who spends most of the day with an infant son.

In a normal situation today, Dad is off most of the time the sun is out, working at his job to support the family. He has but a brief window of time each weekday evening to spend with the children before their bedtime.
And some families are unable to arrange their lives in such a way. Should they be condemned for this? Of course not.
There are two vital activities in which Dad ought to be involved with the family in this brief slice of time—being at the head of the table to command the evening meal time conversation, and taking the opportunity after the meal, before bedtime, to fulfill his role as teacher of the children.
Does this mean that Fraser thought women are unworthy to lead a conversation at the dinner table? This attitude that men must lead the conversation with a woman seems quite problematic. It turns the dinner conversation into some mechanical operation instead of something that people manage for themselves.

How would the ministers of PCG like it if they would told that they must let their wives lead the conversation at the dinner table every night? If they do not enjoy that thought then why do they seem to expect their wives to accept such behavior? It is absurd that Fraser tries to dictate something as mundane and intimate as a family dinner. No good can come from this dogmatic attitude.
Here is Dad’s opportunity to become the children’s hero, as he tells of lessons learned through his own boyhood exploits, reads to them of the achievements of bygone heroes—not the least those heroes of the Bible—and comports himself as leader of the family. It is also a time to demonstrate the tenderness and warmth of his relationship as leader and protector of the mother, his wife, by the manner in which he relates to her in front of the children.
And young boys should also learn not to view women as being unworthy of advancing in the workplace or the boardroom, unlike Ron Fraser. Young boys need to be taught to respect women as equals.
Sons need to see and have a right pride in the strength and accomplishments of their dad. He ought to become their hero. It is the manly example of a manly father that is the greatest attribute he possesses in teaching his son to grow up to be a man in the truest sense of the word.

Here, sport can be a great opportunity to not only exhibit Dad’s own manly strengths but to teach them to his son.
What about teaching boys to treat women as equals?
Be it a backyard game of “footy,” or cricket as it was in my days Down Under, or manning the basketball hoop, or hitting a baseball in the park with dad in America, or perhaps kicking that round ball about in father-and-son soccer matches in other lands—taking the time to teach a sporting approach to the game as well as teaching basic skills are moments a son will never forget. Those opportunities build the male bonds of father-son companionship that can last a lifetime.
Fraser then complains about people using computers and using social media.
One of the great challenges to today’s fathers is to powerfully resist the overwhelming tendency of society at large to become fixated on a video or computer screen for great portions of the day.

Developing a love of the outdoors, of outdoor activities in the fresh air and sunshine, is not only healthy, but, if exposed to such situations often from infancy, the joy that a son may gain from such exposure will serve well to counter the barrage of confusion and self-centeredness with which social media will seek to attack him from the cradle and beyond.
If young PCG members use the Internet in the right way they just might encounter information that may make them question why they submit to PCG's authority. Fraser has an interest in discouraging PCG members from using the Internet in ways the PCG leadership does not want.
The worst example that a father can demonstrate to a son is to live as a couch potato, fixated by the diversion from reality offered by images conveyed by tv and the plethora of electronic devices available today.

Image says a lot to a child, especially a youth in their teens.

To have a dad that is a waddling blob of inertia will probably engender a son in the same image. To have a dad who is fit, athletic and muscle-toned will, no doubt, produce a son in the same image—IF Dad spends the time to help his son develop such a manly frame!
Maybe Fraser should instead trust the people instead of trying to influence even their private time.
Thus it is that we have to turn to Jesus Christ, who gave His life for all humankind, that they may gain inheritance with Him, as the very epitome in His human existence of true, godly manhood.

With the teachings of mankind’s Savior being expunged from our education curricula, we have lost the truest example of manhood that we can ever teach our sons. Such a phenomena in today’s society means that we are even more strongly bound to teach and exemplify that example in our homes.
In other words Fraser seems to be worried that the children of PCG might just start viewing matters differently from PCG's dictates and he expects the parents in PCG to counter any such influence from outside PCG and keep the children loyal to PCG.
This world sadly lacks such examples of true Christ-like manliness. It is a world literally crying out for manly leadership!

How often, as we observe the dominance of women in society do we ask, “Where are the men in Israel?”
This is nonsense. Men are still to be a large extent more advantaged than women in many ways in society. These words are designed to cultivate a largely manufactured sense of victim hood among his male readers in order to coax them to demand their wives should behave according to Fraser's ideas.
It is a fact that even in God’s Church, we too often see women dominating their men in marriage and family situations. Down through the ages the ways of society have had an insidious way of working their way into God’s Church. Witness the decade of liberalism which impacted the Church in the 1970s, something from which it never did fully recover—witness, in turn, the speed of the great falling away following Mr. Armstrong’s death ....
Even within PCG Fraser thinks women are too bossy and assertive. This is ridiculous. Fraser is projecting his sexist ideas that women "need" to be subordinate to men onto his followers. If their marriages are happy why does Fraser insist on meddling with their personal affairs? It is just pathetic how Fraser seemed so determined to keep women subordinate to men.

Also note how Fraser exploits the pain of what happened during the Tkach changes to compel and persuade PCG members to follow his words. Without question many suffered in those turbulent events. Fraser exploits the pain of those events to demand that his words be followed. Here Fraser insinuates that if his words are followed no such schism will occur within PCG. This is an empty promise.
God commanded the parents to teach His law and statutes to their children and to make them a talking point in the home, especially at morning and evening .... The morning breakfast conversation sets the tone for the day. The evening conversation at the dinner table and at bedtime can be a reflection on the day’s events. These are great opportunities to embed true, Christ-like, manly thoughts in a young son’s mind, taking full advantage of these moments to paint a vision in your son’s mind as to his eternal future.
These are the moments that will build true father-son bonds that will encourage your son to seek counsel from you when he meets the challenges of youth and young manhood in particular, the time when he has “put away childish things” ....
Once again Fraser tries to convince the parents within PCG to indoctrinate their children into believing that PCG's doctrines are right and that PCG should be obeyed.

Fraser ends his article with these words.
This planet needs as many godly men as God’s Church can produce.

The Church needs them.
It is incumbent on every parent of every lad in the Church to work hard to inculcate the true essence of godly manhood in their male offspring, thus enhancing the prospect of his manifesting that missing dimension in his life when God leads him by His goodness to repentance and real conversion to His way of life on the road to fulfilling his incredible human potential!
In other words PCG's leaders want the children to be raised up to be faithful, tithes paying followers of PCG.

I do not know why Ron Fraser (1941-2013) was like this. How did he get to be like this? It is unfortunate that he chose to hold on to such sexist attitudes until his last days. Ron Fraser passed away on October 7, 2013 but unfortunately it is likely that his negative views will continue to influence PCG.

I pity anyone who takes this article at face value and tries to apply these words to his or her family life. While some will just read the article and not take it to heart no doubt some will be moved to action by this severely flawed and sexist article. Fraser offered dreadful advice in this article and at times even descended into vile sexism by insinuating that women must not do things traditionally associated with men and cultivating a largely manufactured sense of victim hood among his male readers. This article is terrible.

It is shameful and frightening that the leaders of PCG allowed a man who had bitter sexist attitudes like this to have so much influence and power within PCG.

PCG Spreading Islamophobia After Terrorism in Brussels

On March 22, 2016 terrorist minions of ISIL launched terrorist attacks in Brussels that murdered 35 innocent people. The following day PCG released an article by Robert Morley and Richard Palmer discussing ISIL's terrorist attacks.

Let us see how the PCG's chose to respond to this crisis.
Islamic terrorists detonated three bombs, killing dozens of people in Brussels on Tuesday. The attack follows the arrest of the mastermind behind the French terrorist attacks that killed 130 people on November 13. Now European leaders say Europe is at war. Is Europe finally waking up to the threat posed by radical Islam? What will it do about it? (Robert Morley and Richard Palmer, Belgium Attacked—Europe ‘Under Attack’, March 23, 2016.)
It was ISIL that committed those ghastly acts of mass murder. By labeling the murderers as "Islamic terrorists" this insinuates that all Muslims are somehow guilty by association. This is morally and legally wrong. Rather we must be careful to distinguish between the guilty and the innocent.

One particularly grotesque aspect of labeling terrorists of ISIL as "Islamic terrorists" is that it obscures the fact that most of ISIL's victims in Iraq and Syria were other Muslims. Why slur the vast majority of ISIL's victims and their relatives and friends who happen to be Muslim as though they were somehow guilty by association of ISIL's murders? This is wrong.

Those who carried out these terrorist attacks are the ones responsible. No one else.
Many Europeans are still in shock. A lot of people really don’t want to believe that the Europe of today is very different than the Europe of just a few years ago. Brussels used to be one of the safest cities in the world. It had very little crime.

Politically, there have been a lot of statements of unity from various leaders. “We are all Belgians” is the common sentiment.

But events are forcing opinions to change about potential threats from Islam.

It is now clear that Islamic terrorists are embedded within Europe and have an extensive network. Analysts note that for the Paris mastermind to elude authorities for so long and for the extremists to still coordinate such an attack, the web of linkages must go far beyond just close family members.
Here we see the main flaw of Islamophobia, namely incorrectly viewing Islam as a singular political movement. In fact Islam is a widely varied religion. It is true that most Muslims are united by holding certain religious teachings in common.

But politically speaking the Muslim world is divided into many nation states. And within these nation states there are many differing political movements and organizations. Some are right wing. Some are left wing. Some are democratic. Some are authoritarian. Some are rather secular. Some use their religion for political mobilization. Some wish to live in peace with everyone.

So it is complete nonsense to speak of Islam as though it was a singular political movement as is done in this PCG article.
But even as people wake up to the threat, there also seems to be some effort by leaders to avoid identifying where the terrorist danger is coming from.
“The fight against terrorism is the duty of every one of us,” Polish President Andrzej Duda said.
His comments were typical. There is a mention of terrorism or terrorist attacks. There is talk about hatred and violence. But there is an obvious avoidance of making any link between Islam and terror—even as Islamic State claimed responsibility for the bombing.
Should all Muslims in the world be blamed for what 30 people in some criminal conspiracy associated with the terrorists of ISIL committed? Of course not. But shamefully PCG insinuates that this should be done. This is morally and factually wrong.

The article ends with the following fearful prognostication that Europe will fall into a far right, xenophobic nightmare. Elsewhere PCG teaches that Europe is fated to united with help from the Pope into some sort of superstate that is fated to militarily conquer the United States. These words allude to that doctrine.
Think of what a change this would mean: a change away from the modern, pluralistic, multicultural Europe that we see today. The rise of the far right and the political turmoil shows that Europe is already moving in this direction. Some European leaders are talking about accepting only Christian migrants. It is getting much easier to imagine states beginning to view all their Muslim citizens with suspicion.
This is where these terrorist attacks are pushing Europe. It’s helping to create a unified and more integrated Europe. A Europe that moves away from the evils of multiculturalism toward a darker future where the state discriminates among its citizens. A Europe with a Christian identity—where Muslims are not welcome. A Europe that is fighting Islam abroad.
This is exactly how Bible prophecy says Europe will ultimately deal with its terrorism problem.
The idea that the United States will soon be conquered by a European military superpower is an idea that Armstrongism has consistently taught since the 1930s. This false prophecy has always failed and will never come to pass.

PCG's Brad MacDonald Mentioning Borat

From an article by PCG once again demonizing Germans to insist that their absurd, false prophecy that Germans will soon conquer the United States will soon occur.
This is the plotline of Look Who’s Back, a new film recently released in Germany. Look Who’s Back is based on the bestselling novel by Timur Vermes, and is a Borat-style satirical film in which Adolf Hitler comes to life and attempts to start a life in modern Germany. (Brad MacDonald, How Many Germans Secretly Admire Hitler?, October 29, 2015.)
What a minute! MacDonald watched Borat? Or at least he is familiar enough with it that he chooses to mention that film in an article of his.

PCG's Joel Hilliker and WorldNetDaily

The following post was prompted by the following anonymous comment discussing an article by Joel Hilliker.
How to stand like a man by the boy in the bubble!

Joel Hilliker quite literally lives in a fantasy world. In a previous article by Hilliker found here: https://www.pcog.org/articles/1020/thankful Joel makes a few interesting statements about his perfect existence. In the article Hilliker candidly admits that he has been full-time employed by the PCG since 1997! Effectively what this means is that ‘Lil Joel now in his early forties has been living in the rarefied enclave of PCG privilege at Edmond for a very large portion of his adult life.

Joel Hilliker quite literally has no functional idea of what modern life in the real world is like. Sadly, at the same time, this doesn’t stop him dispensing platitudes, simplistic ideas and crap like this to people stupid enough to actually take him seriously.

Hilliker especially has no understanding of the life faced by the average Joe in the PCG.
In a sermon a few years ago, Hilliker who has a senior editorial role on the Trumpet magazine staff, joked that he has a reputation for being late in meeting his editorial deadlines. In his message he just laughed that off. If he was actually working for real publication in a professional commercial workplace and was consistently late like that he would quickly find himself unemployed. However Joel’s sister is Gerald Flurry’s daughter-in-law, subsequently there’s no risk of anything like that happening to him any time soon.

In real terms Joel’s existence is one of nepotism, seclusion and privilege, yet at the same time he has the gall to tell rank and file PCG members on how to be men.

Over the last few years Joel Hilliker has been carefully grooming and stylising himself as the relationship expert of the PCG. More and more Joel’s sermons and articles have focused on such topics as child-rearing, dating, manliness, masculine leadership etc. In these messages Hilliker never misses an opportunity to dispense his simplistic text-book world view.

It’s a great life cutting and pasting WND articles and renaming them as your own, doing radio shows, singing in musicals or giving occasional sermons.

I would like to issue Joel Hilliker with a challenge: Resign from your employment in the PCG, leave Edmond and go out into the workforce and support yourself and your family by getting an actual job in the real commercial environment of 2016. Only after a few years of this can you come back and tell us about what being a man is really like.

PS. Just where in the NT is there anything even resembling doctrine or instruction like this? God looks on a person’s heart, their faith, their character not on the shape of their spine.

Apparently the apostle Paul physically was a very unattractive person:

2 Cor 5:12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

2 Cor 10:1, 7 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence {in presence: or, in outward appearance } am base among you….

2 Cor 10:10 For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.
It is not possible for me to verify much of what is said in the comment above. But it is certainly true that Joel Hilliker has quoted WorldNetDaily in his writings as noted here and here.
Egyptian security officials are also reportedly expressing concern that Palestinian terrorists are moving south to plan attacks on Egyptian targets. ... One Egyptian official told World Net Daily, “If Palestinians from Gaza succeed in carrying out an attack against Egypt, it will be a turning point in Palestinian terrorism.” (Joel Hilliker, Sinai Becoming Terrorist Haven, September 19, 2006.)
Matt Hissey says when he manned GOProud’s CPAC booth, he was thanked by a stream of participants for coming and “for driving the wingnuts away.” Barron criticized a prominent Republican attorney for her role in the boycott by branding her “a nasty bigot.” He called boycotting Republicans “losers” and sneered, “They’re all excited that Jim DeMint is boycotting. And that’s fantastic. I’m glad that he’s willing to be on the Island of Political Misfit Toys with [World Net Daily’s Joseph] Farah and the Concerned Women for America.” (Joel Hilliker, Amazing What Passes for ‘Conservative’ These Days, February 16, 2011.)
Also worth noting is one article by Joel Hilliker that quotes a book published by WorldNetDaily. Hilliker's article uses that book to promote PCG's absurd and racist false prophecy that African Americans are fated to soon launch riots against the white majority. (Joel Hilliker, Ignoring the Race Riots Won’t Make Them Disappear, July 25, 2012.)

As for PCG in general I know of 19 articles written from 1999 to 2014 in which WorldNetDaily is quoted. In these articles WorldNetDaily is never criticized nor is it even mentioned that it happens to leans far to the right regarding politics. About the only way one could be more right wing than them is to be become an actual far right extremist. This indicates that PCG's leaders trust WorldNetDaily.

(Although as far as I know UCG has quoted WorldNetDaily even more than PCG.)

Joel Hilliker was based in the State of Washington during his early days in WCG. First Tacoma and then Bremerton. Quite likely most of the people of the State of Washington would be embarrassed to be associated with Joel Hilliker or PCG in any way. (That is if they even knew PCG existed.)

Pro-Israel Writer on the Abduction of the Three Israeli Teenagers

In a previous post discussing the abduction and murder of three Israeli teenagers in 2014 it was mentioned that some criticized the mass arrest of Hamas operatives in the West Bank that followed as an opportunistic crackdown on Hamas in the West Bank that may have hampered the search for the three Israeli teenagers. After the three were found and the recording of the phone call made by one of the three came out some speculated that this information was suppressed to justify the mass arrests.

Here is another author who seems convinced that information that the three were likely to be dead already as the search began was deliberately suppressed in order to justify a mass wave of arrests of Hamas operatives.

The author, a Christian minister based in Jerusalem, is staunchly pro-Israel and quite supportive of the Israeli government. His ministry has offices in the United States, Canada, Israel, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
It seems apparent to this writer that due to the frightened telephone call from one of the Israeli boys, along with the ten obviously muffled gunshots, Israeli intelligence must have been aware that the boys were dead, but everyone else was living in hope. However an incensed Israeli leadership used the opportunity to gravely weaken Hamas in the West Bank by operating a dragnet, capturing every Hamas leader and operative found while searching for the boys or their bodies. (Ramon Bennett, Gaza!: The Fallout From Premeditated Barbarianism, 2014, Chapter 2, July 16, 2014.)
This statement does not necessarily prove his assertion but it does show that this idea seemed perfectly plausible even to a pro-Israel writer such as him.

The Murder of the Three Israeli Students (2014)

May peace soon come to the Holy Land.

On June 12, 2014 three Israeli teenagers hiking home after a day of school in the West Bank were abducted by Palestinians linked to a cell of Hamas that was known for disregarding orders from Hamas. While the three abducted Israelis were being transported by their kidnappers one of the Israelis tried to make an emergency phone call on his cellphone. He was spotted by the kidnappers and shortly afterwards the three Israelis were murdered. Gunfire was heard on the phone call. The call was heard by the authorities. Hearing the scuffle at the end it seemed most likely that the three had already been murdered. But the call was placed under a gag order and the phone call was kept away from public release until after the three had been discovered. The fact that there was a phone call came out on June 15, 2014 but the call itself was not released to the public until after the three slain teenagers had been found.

One disturbing accusation that is to be found in Max Blumenthal's book, The 51 Day War, is the assertion that Israeli authorities knew it was most likely the three were already slain but this possibility was downplayed to the public thus making the Israeli public whipped up into a furor by giving them a false sense of hope that the three would be found and returned alive. As early as June 15, 2014 some were worried this kidnapping would be used as a pretext to go to war in Gaza. The Israeli government had previously denounced the unity government established between Fatah and Hamas on June 2, 2014.

The Israeli public was most saddened, distressed and angry at the abduction of the three. It was not public knowledge that they had in all likelihood already been killed. It appears the Israeli public was misled. Will anyone who made this decision to keep the Israeli public uninformed of this most pertinent information be held accountable? Why give the Israeli public this false hope when relevant information indicating the three had already been murdered could have been given to the public?

Let us take a look at what it was like in Israel as the nation was distressed at the abduction of the three as noted by Arutz Sheva in the following articles. So many Israelis hoped that the three might be soon returned while they were denied the knowledge that it was most likely that the three had already been murdered.

Arutz Sheva is a far right media outlet in Israel that caters for national religious Israeli Jews. It is closely associated with the settlers in the West Bank. Its headquarters are in Beit El, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Many Israeli Jews are nothing like those who write for Arutz Sheva.

Summarizing what someone said does not indicate agreement.

The Palestinian Authority promised to assist Israel in finding the abducted teenagers.
An official statement issued by Abbas’s spokesman and quoted by Israel’s Channel 2 News said, “The Palestinian Authority hopes the boys will be found and we will help Israel in searching for them.”
The statement added, “The incident occurred in Area C and in previous cases in which Israelis entered the territory of the Palestinian Authority, security personnel helped transfer them safely back to Israel.” (June 14, 2014.)
One Arutz Sheva columnist mentioned how widespread concern about the three was.
Last night, hundreds prayed for them at the Western Wall. Their fate was discussed at every Sabbath table including my own and in many synagogues around the world. (June 14, 2014.)
On June 14 it was confirmed that the three teenagers were kidnapped.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has confirmed that the three yeshiva boys who went missing Thursday were indeed kidnapped by terrorists.
"Our boys were kidnapped by a terrorist organization. There is no doubt about that," the Prime Minister said in an official statement after an emergency security meeting with the Defense Minister and IDF Chief of Staff, adding that an intensive effort is being made to avoid the kidnapped students being smuggled out the Hevron area.
"We are in the midst of a widespread operation to locate and bring back the three young yeshiva students. I spoke with their parents, and I told them that we are doing everything possible and more to bring back their boys, who are also our children." (June 14, 2014.)
While this massive search operation was underway the Israeli public were denied knowledge of the phone call. This denial of information and assertions that it was assumed the three were still alive gave many Israelis, including the families and friends of the three, the false hope that the three might be found alive.

On June 14 it was reported that the Israeli police had delayed informing the IDF for several hours informing of one parent's concern about the three.
And while the IDF search began on Friday, damning claims of have surfaced Saturday night, with sources saying that police in Kiryat Arba knew about the kidnapping for hours before informing the IDF, Walla! News reports.
According to the Israeli daily, the Kiryat Arba police were informed of the kidnapping shortly after the abduction Thursday evening. Police forces eventually set up a checkpoint to make sure that the boys would not leave Hevron, sources said - but did not actually inform the IDF of the kidnapping until several hours later, at nearly 4:00 am Friday. (June 14, 2014.)
The Israeli cabinet meeting was held in Tel Aviv to be close to the IDF as they conducted searches. A transcript of the speech confirming the kidnapping may be seen in the article. (June 14, 2014.)

One June 15 it was reported that little was known about the kidnapping itself.
IDF and other security forces continue to scour the Hevron region where the boys are believed to be being held, but officials are remaining tight-lipped about the progress of the investigation, or indeed how much they know about the circumstances of the kidnappings themselves. (June 15, 2014.)
On June 15 it was reported that Hebron was closed down and the border crossings into Gaza was closed.
In the wake of the kidnapping of three Israeli yeshiva students, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon ordered on Saturday night that a closure be imposed on the Hevron area and that border crossings to Gaza be shut down.
During the closure, entry into Israel will only be permitted in humanitarian and medical cases, all subject to the approval of the Civil Administration. (June 15, 2014.)
Closing the border with Gaza would have done nothing to find the three abducted teenagers. They would have to go to of the West Bank, through Israel and somehow into Gaza. It was a most unlikely development.

A massive prayer rally was held on Saturday night to pray for the three boys' return. (June 15, 2014.)

It was reported June 15 that Netanyahu announced that Hamas was behind the abduction. (June 15, 2014.)

Naftali Bennett promised to respond with an iron fist. (June 15, 2014.)

On Sunday national religious schools held a prayer rally. (June 15, 2014.)

The mother of one of the three spoke to reporters. (June 15, 2014.)

Some Israeli activists were recording what the Israeli soldiers were up to in one Palestinian village and were shooed away. An article "reported" this as "leftists" trying to help the murderous abductors, a highly inflammatory accusation.
Residents of a Hevron-area town suspect that leftists tried to help kidnappers of Eyal Yifrah, Gil-Ad Shaer and Naftali Frenkel.
Residents of a Hevron-area town suspect that radical leftist groups tried to “lend a hand” to the kidnappers of three Israeli teens Saturday, when they entered a town in the southern Hevron Hills and began taking photos and video of homes in the town, forcing IDF soldiers to leave off the search for the missing teens and shoo away the “activists.” (June 15, 2014.)
On June 15 it the phone call was finally reported.
One of the three youths abducted Thursday night called the police hotline immediately after the abduction - but was ignored as police thought the call was a prank, reports IDF Radio Sunday.
The call was received at 10:25 p.m. The youth whispered: "We've been abducted! We are being kidnapped."
The call lasted about two minutes and additional noises could be heard in it. It is being investigated....
This information was under a gag order, which was ifted [sic] Sunday. (June 15, 2014.)

Thousands went to pray for the three. (June 15, 2014.)

Hassan Youssef was arrested. (June 15, 2014.)

Prominent Hamas official arrested. (June 16, 2014.)

Border Police personnel were shot at in the night. (June 16, 2014.)

It was reported on June 16, 2014 that a 19 year old Palestinian was shot by Israeli personnel. It is alleged he throwing stones at the Israeli soldiers. He would be the first of thousands of Palestinians who would die violently in the coming months.
Ahmad Arafat, 19, was reportedly shot in the town of Jelazoun [near Ramallah] while being part of a mob throwing stones at IDF soldiers, who were searching for the three yeshiva students who were kidnapped by terrorists last Thursday night.
Three combat soldiers were injured lightly during the clash, as stones and bricks were thrown at them. Two were treated at the scene, while the third was evacuated to the hospital after being hit in the head by a brick, with concerns that he may have suffered a concussion.
According to PA medical and security sources, Arafat was shot in the chest during the clashes, reports AFP. The sources were unsure whether the IDF was attempting to arrest Arafat at the time, leaving the details of the incident unclear.
The Arab sources noted that Arafat had been released from an Israeli prison just a week ago; they did not specify as to the nature of the crime that had landed him in jail. (June 16, 2014.)
One Arutz Sheva columnist proclaimed that the world did not care about the three abducted Israelis and complained that Michelle Obama took a selfie in solidarity with the hundreds of Nigerian girls who were abducted by the terrorists of Boko Haram but failed to make a similar selfie about the three Israelis. (June 16, 2014.)

A video of one of the abducted singing to celebrate a cousin's wedding was revealed. (June 16, 2014.)

One columnist stated that hitchhiking was a fact of life for many Israeli settlers. (June 16, 2014.)

Following an IDF briefing it was reported that that the IDF planned to crush the infrastructure of Hamas within the West Bank.
Israel will seek to deal a crushing blow to Hamas's infrastructure in Judea and Samaria following the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers, army radio reported on Monday. ...
Following the meeting, which lasted around 90 minutes, political sources said Israel would "attempt, in the coming hours and days, to try and overthrow Hamas infrastructure in the West Bank," the radio's political correspondent reported. (June 16, 2014.)
The leader of the opposition warned this might escalate the situation and called for restraint and to work with Mahmoud Abbas to find the missing teenagers.
But opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog said the Palestinian Authority had been helping efforts to find the missing teens, and warned that any major move could escalate the situation in the already tense Judea-Samaria region.
"It is clear now that the security coordination and Palestinian efforts to help locate the children are very important," he told army radio. "The war on terror will never end, it is vital. But in parallel, we must take all the necessary steps to calm the situation in the West Bank." (June 16, 2014.)
One columnist was angry that BBC and CNN had placed quotation marks around the word "abduction" in discussing the abduction in various articles of theirs. The columnist called for the BBC and CNN to be banned from Israel until they properly apologized for this.
There is no surprise in the code of behaviour of  both of them, clearly; but actions must to be taken in this case - it cries to the heavens. The state of Israel should ban the activities of CNN and BBC from the territory of Israel until there are full public apologies from both of them and guarantees by their managers that the professional duties of their journalists and editors iwill be conducted in a civilized, responsible, un-biased way. About 200 American Jews prayed for the three in the Israeli Consulate in New York. (June 16, 2014.)

One columnist mentioned how the Israeli nation desperately followed the news of the search for the three and how they desperately hoped that the three would be found alive.
The abduction of three Israeli teenagers - 16-year-old classmates Gilad Sha'ar and Naftali Frenkel, and 19-year-old Eyal Yifrah - has struck a chord here in Israel. Almost everyone in this country is practically glued to their computer screens, searching with bated breath for information, almost as if they themselves were playing a part in the search. Desperate - really, desperate - for a sign of life, and to see the boys back in the arms of their mothers.
In every community - from "secular" Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and Hevron; from Bet El to Bnei Brak; from the Negev to the Galilee - public prayers are being recited daily for their safe return. In practically every synagogue in Israel, every one of the daily prayers is concluded with the recital of psalms and a prayer for our brothers Ya'akov Naftali ben Rachel Devorah, Eyal ben Iris T'shura, and Gil'ad Micha'el ben Bat-Galim. (June 16, 2014.)
Human Rights Watch condemned the abductions but also condemned the mass arrests of 150 Palestinians in the West Bank as well as the closure of Hebron and closing the border with Gaza. (June 17, 2014.)

One columnist insinuated that the New York Times had slipped into "total anti-Semitic insanity."
This is not the time for Reporter Jodi Rudoren and The New York Times to allege “Israel’s rescue attempts destabilize relations with the Palestinians.” Unless the Times has finally gone over the cliff into total anti-Semitic insanity. Without a doubt that is the case. (June 17, 2014.)

One columnist asserted that terrorists operate with the support of the people therefore measures need to be taken against those people.
Listen carefully. If one is “coming” to kill you—even if they have not yet arrived… self-defense is in order.
As we know from all the blaring headlines, social media, United Nations resolutions, and BDS campaigns (to name only a few ), the terrorists have the support of their people, their police, their leaders—and a serious global cheering squad. (June 17, 2014.)

Lapid also dismissed leftist and pro-Palestinian critics, who claim that Israel purposely provoked the confrontation to take advantage for political reasons.
"We did not ask for this confrontation - but let no one think they can kidnap or hurt our children and get away with it alive," he said. "We will hunt them, and their leaders, down wherever they hide and will severely punish them and those who sent them." (June 18, 2014.)

An IDF briefing announced that Hamas figures who they wanted to arrest for quite some time were now being arrested.
'Following the abduction, we've been arresting Hamas operatives we've been chasing for a long time,' official says.
The IDF search-and-rescue mission to find three yeshiva students kidnapped by Hamas continues for its fifth straight day on Wednesday - but the IDF has done more than simply look for the teenagers.
"Following the abduction, we have been able to arrest several Hamas terrorists that we have been chasing for a long time," a senior IDF official stated to IDF Radio Wednesday. "We have expanded our operation to deepen our crackdown on Hamas. 'Refugee camps' in Judea and Samaria in the coming period will also constitute a target for military activity." ...
Over 200 Hamas terrorists have been arrested so far during the operation, including several top officials and founding members. (June 18, 2014.)
One columnist said that the world did not care that three young Israelis were abducted by Hamas operatives.
Israel should remember that the world just does not care. The world is quiet when Jews are attacked – and condemns us when Jews want to live.  And even if Israel does something they do not like – this too shall pass. Muslim extremists kidnapped Jewish teenagers – and naturally there are forces on social media that seek to equate Arab imprisoned murderer-terrorists with Jewish innocent teenagers. They are wrong – and we alone are right. (June 18, 2014.)
Prayer rally was held at the partitioned Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron officiated by one of the grandfather of one of the three. Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected Abbas' condemnation and called for him to end the unity pact with Hamas. (June 19, 2014.)

One columnist mentions that the political atmosphere is advantageous since the world is focused on other matters.
Israel's actions are taking place in a relatively benign international climate, because the entire world is focused on Iraq, whose lands are rapidly being conquered by ISIS, and the organization poses a threat to the northern Iraqi oil industry. Iran is involved, the US is sending troops and the world is hoping that Iraq will survive as a united country. What is going on in Ukraine also takes center stage, more so since the rebels managed to down a Ukranian aircraft and kill close to 50 government troops. In Kenya, the Somalian "Shabbab Almujaddin" militia  slaughtered masses of people, and the World Cup games in Brazil are much more interesting than the kidnapping of three Israelis and Israel's actions against Hamas in Judea and Samaria. (June 19, 2014.)
American singer Tony Orlando visited the families of the three. (June 19, 2014.)

Meretz MK Zehava Galon criticized the IDF operation in the West Bank as straying from the purpose of finding the three and instead punishing the Palestinian Authority. This was criticized as distracting from the search and putting Israeli soldiers at risk.
“We have to say it straight out: Operation Brother’s Keeper is losing any connection to its original purpose, which was bringing the kidnapped boys home, and is becoming an operation with an agenda of punishment against the Palestinian Authority," she wrote on her Facebook page. Galon went on to criticize Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, saying the measures he has been taking are “political, cynical, and hurt the attention that the forces on the ground can dedicate to locate the hostages, and unnecessarily endanger the soldiers sent to Palestinian cities.”
She continued, “We need to engage in locating the abducted boys and bringing them back to their families, not creating the conditions for the next abduction.” (June 19, 2014.)

An MK for Meretz, Nitan Horowitz, questioned the necessity of arresting so many Hamas members and questioned if this would really help find the three abducted teenagers.
Writing on his Facebook page, Horowitz said that “we all want the boys to return home, and we understand that action is necessary to bring this about. But what does this have to do with what is going on right now? Why is there a collective punishment against thousands of people? How is this campaign helping us to return the victims? The campaign is just promoting tensions, and increasing the risk to victims, both Israeli and Palestinian.” (June 19, 2014.)

"A 16-year-old youth was killed today in the territories. The youth, Jihad Mohammed Dudin, was killed by a bullet that hit his chest," wrote Henin on his Facebook page. ...
"This youth also deserved to return in peace to the embrace of his family," wrote Henin, making a comparison between the Arab rioter and the three yeshiva students, Eyal Yifrah (19), Naftali Frenkel (16) and Gilad Sha'ar (16), who were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists last Thursday. (June 20, 2014.)
An interview of Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki with AFP is mentioned. Minister Malki was quite scathing of the Israeli response to the abductions. It is mentioned that 150 Palestinian homes had demolished over the previous week.
"The Israeli army has taken 300 Palestinians...they have destroyed more than 150 Palestinian homes since last week," claimed Malki. "Their reaction went beyond logic and what infuriates me the most is the lack of reaction from the international community."
Malki claimed Israel is "dragging" on the search for "political purposes," adding "if it comes to be known that Hamas is behind it (the kidnapping), then of course the unity government will be at risk. We are not going to tolerate and accept the fact that Hamas uses and abuses this kind of reconciliation government just to blow the national interests of the Palestinian people." (June 20, 2014.)

One columnist, a Rabbi, hoped for the three's return. He portrayed the settlers as defenders of Israel protecting the State of Israel from the establishment of a Palestinian state.
For years, the settlers in Judea and Samaria, and especially in “Gav Ha’Har” (the area between Ariel and Shechem), have lived with the fear of an enemy plotting to murder and have been attacked with stones and Molotov cocktails – and yet, continue clinging to the Land, building houses, planting trees, and starting schools that are constantly being filled with more and more students.
How fortunate are those who merit settling the heart of the country, and in spite of the dangers, maintain their blessed, daily routines – and with their very bodies, prevent the most serious danger for a massive amount of Jews in Israel – the danger of the establishment of a terrorist state whose sole purpose is the destruction of the State of Israel. With the search now in its 10th day, troops shot dead Ahmed Fanawi, a 27-year-old mentally challenged man, in Nablus on his way to prayers, his family and medics said.
The army confirmed firing at a man who approached troops "in a threatening manner", saying he had failed to respond to warning shots.

"Over the past two weeks we have taken an unprecedented level of action [the most since] Operation Defensive Shield [2002 - during the Second Intifada - ed.] on two fronts: the intelligence front, to find the boys; and to deal a major blow to Hamas."

"We have turned the situation upside down, from 'kidnapping and releasing terrorists' to 'kidnapping and re-arresting terrorists,'" he added, vowing again to "centralize the focus" on financial penalties against Hamas terrorist prisoners. Bennett himself had vowed to lead the government in this direction. (June 25, 2014.)
One columnist remarked upon the widespread show of solidarity for the abducted three throughout Israel.
Three children are kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists and the fractious and contentious people of the state of Israel become united in moments. One columnist asserts that Palestinians are collectively guilty of the abductions and deserves to suffer for it collectively.
Collective punishment is a moral concept. It says you cannot punish every member of a group just because someone in that group has done something wrong. But in this context, the moral concept—like so many other moral concepts the Arab world uses against Israel—is inappropriate. It assumes that the ‘group’ is innocent of the crime(s) committed. But what happens if the group is as guilty as the transgressor(s)?
Common sense suggests that a group’s collective responsibility should justify collective punishment. But that is not how the world sees it. (June 27, 2014.)
And right after suggesting that Palestinians should be collectively punished he asserts that what Israel is doing is far from collective punishment even though by this time five Palestinians had been killed and 369 Palestinians had been arrested since the abduction.
And what makes this accusation even more immoral is that it doesn’t even apply to this kidnapping. What Israel is doing is far from "collective punishment". (June 27, 2014.)

The deliberate harming of an entire civilian population as punishment for the actions of individuals is both illegal and immoral."

President Obama condemned the murders. It is condemned by Arutz Sheva as being balanced for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
“As a father, I cannot imagine the indescribable pain that the parents of these teenage boys are experiencing. The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms this senseless act of terror against innocent youth. From the outset, I have offered our full support to Israel and the Palestinian Authority to find the perpetrators of this crime and bring them to justice, and I encourage Israel and the Palestinian Authority to continue working together in that effort,” he continued.
“I also urge all parties to refrain from steps that could further destabilize the situation. As the Israeli people deal with this tragedy, they have the full support and friendship of the United States,” concluded Obama.

It is mentioned that it was known among the Israeli authorities that it was likely the three had been murdered shortly after the abduction.
While maintaining that the boys are considered to be alive until proved to be otherwise, security forces have in fact been aware that the most likely possibility is that the abduction went wrong, with the terrorists murdering the boys sometime late Thursday night, June 12, or early on the 13th. This is indeed what happened. The boys were then buried in a shallow grave near Halhul sometime before Friday morning. (July 1, 2014.)
The public should have been informed that gunshots were heard in the recording. It should have been said to the public that it is likely that the three have been murdered and robbed of the rest of their lives. Instead by assuming that the three were alive (despite the recording of gun fire) the public had this false hope that the three could be returned. The recording should have been brought to the public immediately. The public should have been immediately told that it was quite unlikely that the three would be found alive.

At this point it is mentioned that a Palestinian of East Jerusalem, Mohammed Abu Khdeir, 16, had been abducted the night of the funeral by three assailants. They drove him to a park and proceeded to beat him. It later emerged that while one of the perpetrators was beating him with a crowbar he shouted that this was for the three who were abducted and murdered and other Israeli Jews who had been murdered by Palestinians. They poured gasoline on him while he was still alive and burned him to death.
