They should not just apologize but renounce teaching such things ever again.Redfox712https://www.blogger.com/profile/17734930967002040931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846567313402731847.post-76979525943086624002014-11-21T08:21:52.236-08:002014-11-21T08:21:52.236-08:00You know, last summer, I did hear -- and I lie not...You know, last summer, I did hear -- and I lie not -- a sermon from a minister in a rather small Armstrongist Church of God where he apologized for being a false prophet. It was refreshing to hear him admit it. He committed to stop speculating and promised he would no longer be a false prophet.

And that is admirable.

But it's not enough.

There's no way to make restitution to those who were deceived by the false prophecies and made foolish decisions (some of them financial). The damage is done. Since Scripture makes the qualifications of the ministry quite clear and is really very much against lies, it is clear that the man should no longer be a minister and that should have been his very last sermon. It should also have been followed up by written materials accessible on the Internet. Furthermore, he and those with him should no longer accept any money at all, particularly the so-called 'tithes'. It should end right there.

It's pretty clear to me that the LCG is never going to even get close to the integrity of the man who admitted he had been a false prophet and apologized for it, committing to repentance. Roderick Meredith is too entrenched in his 60 years of false prophecies. And if that's not bad enough, he has converted his followers to evil -- for there is nothing more evil than to get others to violate their own conscience to compromise themselves.

There can be no excuse. All the Armstrongists should know better: If they know they are worthy of 'many stripes' and death; if they don't know, they are frigging incompetent. Either way, they should just stop preaching and go hide in embarrassment.

How many and when will they follow this man's example.

I have my own prophecy: None.

Now you guys, you could make me a false prophet (although I, unlike you, don't claim to do it as God's representative in Jesus' name -- as insulting blasphemy).

Go for it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
