PCG Promotes Bilderburg Conspiracy Theory

Andrew Müller the McCarthyite has released an article scare mongering about the Bilderburg Group's meeting. (Andrew Müller, What’s the Bilderberg Agenda?, June 9, 2016.)
While the Bilderberg Group may not be the world shadow government of conspiracy theorist lore, it is still one of the most influential groups in the world.
Indeed the Bilderburg Group has long been used by conspiracy theorists to promote paranoid views of world politics. One recent article from Time alluded to these conspiracist views.
A shadowy world government. Political kingmakers. A capitalist cabal looking to impose its will across the globe. For decades, conspiracy theorists have tried to decode the secretive Bilderberg Group, an annual gathering of the some of the world’s most powerful figures, which begins Thursday in Dresden, Germany. ... conspiracy theorists [have claimed] that the group is imposing a new world order and playing kingmaker around the world. (Time, June 9, 2016.)
Müller mentions the conspiracy theorists who make wild speculations about the Bilderburg Group.
Due to the secrecy surrounding Bilderberg discussions, the conference has become a popular target of conspiracy theorists. The Internet is full of blogs detailing how Bilderberg members are in league with the Illuminati, the Freemasons and/or a secret cabal of shape-shifting lizards founded by the sorceress Semiramis.
What about the COGs and Semiramis? HWA used The Two Babylons by Alexander Hyslop, an 1850s anti-Catholic polemic, to claim that Semiramis created with Nimrod the Babylonian religion and Hyslop claimed this religion was the basis for the Roman Catholic Church. Hyslop was confused about how precisely Semiramis was linked with Nimrod.
Hislop in various pages of his book referred to Semiramis as being Nimrod’s wife, and again his daughter, and again his mother, and again that Nimrod had two mothers, and again nine mothers. And this is history? (xHWA, The Babylon Connection, December 12, 2008.)
Somehow HWA decided that Semiramis was Nimrod's mother and wife. HWA used this idea to demonize the Catholic Church, Protestant churches which were demonized as her "daughters," and various popular celebrations such as Christmas, Easter and Valentine's Day.

It is strange that Müller should mock conspiracy theorists fixated on the Bilderburg Group with this conspiracy theory about Semiramis when HWA and the COGs have often used Semiramis as well.

But despite that Müller sort it was a good idea to make an article scare mongering about this annual meeting and risk joining the company of conspiracy theorists.

Müller mentions one of the founders and even includes a bit of anti-Jesuit hysteria into the article.
Józef Retinger was thought to be an agent of the Vatican. According to [a certain individual], he was expelled from the Allied countries during World War I on suspicion of helping the superior-general of the Jesuits, Wlodimir Ledóchowski, plot the creation of a Central Europe Catholic federation. Retinger founded the European Movement in 1947, leading to the establishment of the Council of Europe in 1949.
Jesuit conspiracy theories have a long history dating back to the 18th Century. Why is PCG alluding to such exaggerated fears? No good will come from this.
While the Bilderberg Group may not be the world shadow government of conspiracy lore; it’s still one of the most influential groups in the world. Set up primarily to benefit transatlantic megacorporations, such as Rockefeller’s Standard Oil and former Nazi industrial giant I.G. Farben, the Bilderberg Group is an enemy to democracy and the concept of the sovereign nation state.
So he condemns the conspiracy theorists but still tries to make his readers fearful of this group.
While the discussions within the Bilderburg Group themselves are kept secret considering how often the politicians have to talk to the public it seems rather unlikely that some clandestine move to be formed and implemented exclusively from this meeting. While this annual meeting is closed to the public there are many other opportunities to learn what those in power are thinking of doing. It seems unprofitable to overly fixate on this particular meeting.

One appeal of conspiracy theories is the idea that nothing can be done to fix things. There are many problems in the world and if one were to believe that it is not possible to fix them because of some all powerful, secret cabal operating somewhere out there then this relieves one of any responsibility to at least attempt to fix things. It is out of one's hands. This view is not helpful and should not be encouraged.

Müller continues with these words.
Tragically, America is responsible for creating many of the globalist movements that threaten it today—and nowhere is that more true than in Europe. The Trumpet has long reported on how the U.S. government cooperated with the Catholic Church and former members of the Nazi Party to build a European superstate capable of helping Washington oppose the Soviet Union. ...

The Bible foretells of a corporatist empire that will straddle the Atlantic Ocean in the time just before Jesus Christ’s return. This resurrected Holy Roman Empire will be led by Germany and the Vatican, and it will cause the “merchants of the earth” to wax “rich through the abundance of her delicacies.”
HWA and his imitators in the COGs have been constantly insisting that some European power will soon conquer the United States since the 1930s. They are but false prophets. Their words will fail.
