The world has been shocked to hear that six innocent people were gunned by a murderer in a mosque in Quebec City.
Sad to say it has been all too fashionable in some circles to vilify Muslims in general or focus on painful news stories and fail to notice or talk about the ordinary people among ourselves.
We need to be careful about how we talk about our neighbors. We should not hold ordinary people among ourselves in contempt. We cannot stereotype people of a certain religion as being inclined to violence or deserving of being trodden upon. We must not exploit differences to make ourselves feel better than others.
