Back in 2005 PCG released a booklet by their leader, "That Prophet" Gerald Flurry, entitled Daniel Unlocks Revelation. (This booklet was discussed in a previous post.) Near the end of that booklet in its original 2005 version Gerald Flurry says the German dictator that PCG and other COG groups insist is fated to conquer the United States "could" come on the scene by 2005 or 2006.
This man doesn’t think he would do murderous deeds (Isaiah 10:6-7). But Satan is going to get to him—he will experience a mind change (Habakkuk 1:11).
That man could be coming on the scene as early as this year—2005—or 2006. There has been a dramatic shift in German politics and new elections are scheduled to be held in September of this year. Watch those elections when they come! Or see how a man could manipulate the system. Regardless of when this “king of fierce countenance” appears, it is going to be for an extremely short span of time. (Gerald Flurry, Daniel Unlocks Revelation, 2005 version, Chapter 4, p. 95.)Unsurprisingly this reference to the future German dictator arising in 2005 or 2006 has been quietly removed from the current 2015 version of this booklet.
This man doesn’t think he would do murderous deeds (Isaiah 10:6-7). But Satan is going to get to him—he will experience a mind change (Habakkuk 1:11).
That man could be coming on the scene very soon. Regardless of when this “king of fierce countenance” appears, it is going to be for an extremely short span of time. (Gerald Flurry, Daniel Unlocks Revelation, 2015 version, Chapter 4, p. 95.)Clearly Gerald Flurry has as little knowledge of the future as any of us. This is yet another false, fear inducing prophecy that PCG has promoted to its readers. Since its founding in 1989 PCG has promoted at least 52 false prophecies. Gerald Flurry does not know what is going to happen in the future. We would do well to take heed of what is written in the Bible.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18:22.)There is no need to fear these dire proclamations.
He might have established greater credibility if he had prophesied that in 2017, the Larsen C ice shelf would calve an iceberg the size of Delaware. But, with his very limited audience, who would even remember? So, he's got two problems. One is that because he bases all of hia statements on HWA, he is always wrong. The second is that not enough people are aware of him, or anything he has to say.

So true. It also seems to me that it would be a much better use of one's time to be concerned about the problem of climate change instead of this induced phobia of a new Hitler like figure arising in Germany.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I heard a Flurry sermon would have been at least 6 years ago, and at a PCG-critique website. In the sermon "That Prophet" claimed, with a slight chuckle, that PCG members see prophecies being fulfilled "every day".
ReplyDeleteOf course he didn't say which, or whose, prophecies, and certainly didn't cite examples. The only example I think I ever heard Flurry give was when he twisted some scriptures to make them look like a reference to their copyright battle with WCG.
