Rest in Peace, Gavin Rumney
Banned by HWA has revealed that Gavin Rumney, author of the Ambassador Watch and Otagosh blogs, has passed away.
My thoughts and condolences go to his family and friends.
His voice has for a long time been greatly treasured among those of us struggling to understand what had happened to us regarding to a certain organization and its offshoots.
He will be sorely missed.
The Painful Truth said, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
He truly has been a wonderful influence.
May he rest in peace.

This is the first time during the internet era that one of our major players has passed away. Also, it was somewhat sudden and unexpected. I think that's why it's hitting a number of us so hard.
ReplyDeleteThe comments that will come from the inner circles of the Armstrong movement are quite predictable, and will be largely the products of brainwashed minds. We know that they will feel compelled to use this opportunity to judge Gavin using Armstrongism as their criteria, but in the end, what they have to say really doesn't matter.
Gavin was somewhat self-effacing. He stuck to ideas, and didn't share a lot of personal details. Therefore, I have no idea whether he was married, had children, or loved ones close to him. May God give peace to any loved ones who may have been left behind.

But we did know that he had a cat... and that is an important detail.
DeleteI hope the poor kitty will have a happy home and not be abandoned.
And a person who likes cats is, of course, one of the best people any of us could encounter....
Rest in peace. He was inspiring in so many ways through many of his articles
