Update Regarding the Flurrys' Booklet, Character in Crisis

Since writing the post concerning Gerald Flurry and Stephen Flurry's booklet, Character in Crisis (1998), their fairly lame attempt to capitalize on the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal, more information has come to my attention.

The booklet is based on these articles from the March-April 1998 Philadelphia Trumpet.
  • Gerald Flurry's article, America in Crisis.
  • Stephen Flurry's article, Founded on a Rock.
  • Stephen Flurry's side article, Character Does Affect Leadership.
Intriguingly Gerald Flurry's article is slightly more detailed then the booklet. It also includes this rare allusion by Gerald Flurry to his early life which is not in the booklet.
I grew up in a family with some serious problems. Many of us have been victims of dysfunctional families. President Clinton is no exception. ...  Like many of us, Mr. Clinton grew up in a flawed family. And this problem is rapidly getting worse in America. (Gerald Flurry, "America in Crisis", Philadelphia Trumpet, March-April 1998, p. 4.)
Also the illustration used for the cover of Character in Crisis seen above was also used in the December 1998 issue of The Philadelphia Trumpet for Gerald Flurry's article "Did America Betray MacArthur and the Filipinos?" That article was later used to produce Gerald Flurry's booklet "We Have Had Our Last Chance", which was discussed in a previous post.

  1. Character in Crisis would certainly explain Flurry's DUI.
