President Obama Says Economy Improving But PCG Will Likely Deny This

So President Obama has delivered his State of the Union address. It is he had these words:
We are fifteen years into this new century. Fifteen years that dawned with terror touching our shores; that unfolded with a new generation fighting two long and costly wars; that saw a vicious recession spread across our nation and the world. It has been, and still is, a hard time for many.

But tonight, we turn the page.

Tonight, after a breakthrough year for America, our economy is growing and creating jobs at the fastest pace since 1999. Our unemployment rate is now lower than it was before the financial crisis. More of our kids are graduating than ever before; more of our people are insured than ever before; we are as free from the grip of foreign oil as we've been in almost 30 years. ...
At this moment – with a growing economy, shrinking deficits, bustling industry, and booming energy production – we have risen from recession freer to write our own future than any other nation on Earth. ...

thanks to lower gas prices and higher fuel standards, the typical family this year should save $750 at the pump.
I strongly suspect that PCG's writers will nevertheless insist that the President is completely wrong. If they do it will be mentioned here. They will tell PCG members to disregard what is said here. Ignore what you see with your eyes they will be told.

Some of what they have been saying insisting that, contrary to all the evidence, it is still just like 2008 may be seen in this post.

  1. The presidencies of George W. Bush and Barack Obama have have brilliantly illustrated the narrow-minded, prejudiced, hateful, and xenophobic attitudes of the right wing idiots. In their eyes Bush could do nothing wrong (even though he did many things wrong) and Obama can surely do nothing right. They refuse to give Obama credit for the elimination Osama bin Laden. They give him no credit for an improved economy, lower unemployment, a more robust stock market, and lower energy costs. Of course, if all these things had happened under a Republican administration then high praise would be directed towards the conservative idol in the White House. I realize it's all politics, but common human decency gives credit where credit is due. And lurking behind it all is the fact that Obama is not only a Democrat but a black Democrat. Lions and tigers and n******, oh my!
