Are Palestinians Just Arabs in Disguise?

Recently it has been reported that one pro-Israel individual said to applause the following words.
I just wanted to mention: Why are we using the word Palestinian? There's no such thing as a Palestinian person.
Even though cognate versions of the name Palestine have been used as early as 1170 BC somehow it is wrong to use it to describe people.

And never mind about Leon Uris' novel, Exodus. In that novel the people of the Yishuv are named Palestinians. Although it has to be said that the Palestinians are most often described as Arabs in that novel. Although that is a topic for another time.

There are about 12.37 million Palestinian persons around. They are not Lebanese or Syrian or Jordanian. They are Palestinians.
