Roy Moore Implied George Soros is Going to Hell

Just appalling.
Roy Moore, the controversial Alabama Senate candidate endorsed by President Donald Trump, said George Soros’ agenda is “not our American culture” and suggested the Jewish billionaire philanthropist was headed to hell. ...
“He is pushing an agenda and his agenda is sexual in nature, his agenda is liberal, and not what Americans need,” said Moore, not explaining what it is about Soros’ agenda that is “sexual.” He added, “It’s not our American culture. Soros comes from another world that I don’t identify with.” ...
“No matter how much money he’s got, he’s still going to the same place that people who don’t recognize God and morality and accept his salvation are going,” Moore said. “And that’s not a good place.” (JTA, December 5, 2017.)
There is nothing wrong with honest disagreement over political matters. But this sort of exclusionary talk is dreadful. How does implying that a Jewish individual as being not a part of "our" culture not sound like anti-Semitism? We need to treat people with equality, dignity and respect.

  1. I can't believe that this is happening. Throughout the course of my lifetime I've watched ignorance such as this be repudiated on a grand scale. Roy Moore's remarks would have been career-ending just a short time ago.

I watched Tavis Smiley's interview of Myrlie Evers last night, and she commented that the current state of affairs in the USA today scares her. Her husband, Medgar Evers, was a high profile civil rights leader who was assassinated in 1963. She and her children suffered greatly in the fight for equality of African Americans, and for years conditions were improving. Now, it appears that there is a reversal of the positive societal evolution that was spawned by the civil rights movement.

This should be setting off major alarms for all of us. Unless we fight them on our own individual levels, the most ignorant amongst us will surely win. I thought it was all over with the death of people like Strom Thurmond, and Lester Maddox. Apparently not.
