Anti-Vaxxer PCG: Overview of the July 2021 Issue of PCG's Philadelphia Trumpet

(Update: May 21, 2021: It is publicly known that some of the Covid vaccines, such as the Astra Zeneca vaccine and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, can have a rare side effect of causing blood clots. With the Johnson and Johnson vaccine this side effect appears to mainly occur among women younger than 50 years old. Covid also produces blood clots. Nevertheless the CDC has recommended continuing to use the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Anyone worried about such matters one should consult with one's doctor. We need to decide what do to based on medical science not the fear that Armstrongism often promotes or the hope that somehow their false prophecies will soon be fulfilled thus solving all our problems. We must face reality.)

In early May 2021 PCG released the July 2021 issue of their recruitment magazine, The Philadelphia Trumpet. This issue was released before the recent round of deadly strife in what used to be Mandatory Palestine. Even though hundreds of Americans are still being killed by Covid-19 every day PCG's leadership has decided to scare their readers about the vaccines that immunizes people from that dreadful disease, Covid-19. Anti-vaxxerism has been long term problem in the United States and elsewhere. Thankfully many people such as Voices for Vaccines, are trying to stand up against this dangerous and unscientific tendency. It is unfortunate that the PCG leadership has chosen to adopt an anti-vaxxer stance regarding Covid vaccines.

The cover illustration is by Gary Dorning. Here getting vaccinated against that frightful disease that is named Covid-19 is labelled as a form of "coercion" and the widespread attempt to encourage people to get vaccinated is presented as being somehow threatening. It is astounding that PCG's leaders choose to present the Covid vaccines as a threat to their readers rather then encourage them to protect themselves against that awful and sneaky disease that is Covid-19.

The editors of this magazine are Gerald Flurry, Stephen Flurry, Joel Hilliker, Philip Nice, Brad Macdonald, Richard Palmer, Jeremiah Jacques and Dennis Leap.

This issue has a circulation of 241,917 issues. For the May-June issue it was 243,028. For the April issue it was 247,023. For the March issue it was 248,523. For the February issue it was 246,497. For the January issue it was 247,820. The circulation stays in its previous position.

Gerald Flurry has an article discussing the immanent succession of a new Chancellor in Germany. He speculates that the Christian Social Union in Bavaria might break away from its alliance with the Christian Democratic Union and run in all of Germany as its own party.

Gerald Flurry has an article insisting that Donald Trump will return to the presidency. It is even implied that he might return to power in a military coup. Even though Biden was elected Flurry continue to stir up anger at the incumbent President among his followers and give them false hope that somehow Donald Trump will return to the presidency without needing to run in the 2024 election. This is partly an attempt to explain away his failed prophecy that Donald Trump would win the 2020 election and once it became clear that Biden had won this failed prophecy was altered to fit changed circumstances.

Stephen Flurry has an article condemning the political left once again. This time he cites statements by various leftist politicians calling for further reforms of policing to say that these leftists will never be satisfied therefore there is no need to listen to them or try to meet them halfway or anyway in managing American society.

Condemning Covid Vaccines

Stephen Flurry has an article saying that vaccines that protects us from the dreadful Covid-19 are somehow dangerous. He falls for the logical fallacy of the false equivalence, namely he compares the deadly disease Covid-19 with vaccines designed to stop Covid-19. That is like comparing apples and oranges. He outrageously calls the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as merely "a fairly standard flu epidemic" on page 11 even though Covid-19 is not a flu at all. Currently about 675 Americans die of Covid-19 every day.

Richard Palmer has an article scare mongering against vaccine passports. As more people get vaccinated to protect themselves from the dreadful disease we call Covid-19 people and businesses will find it easier to manage people by only letting vaccinated people to gather in certain venues. He says such a hypothetical is not the "mark of the beast" but then he dilutes his previous point by saying it may lead up to that. Such scare mongering is unhelpful in the current situation. The PCG 1% would not have any need to be worried about being inconvenienced with not having a vaccine passport if they just did the socially responsible thing and make America stronger by getting themselves vaccinated against that frightful disease.

It is shameful that PCG chooses to stir fear and doubts about vaccines against Covid-19. Alas, Armstrongism has a long history of adopting a hostile attitude towards medical science. Much pain and misery has been caused over the years by this hostile attitude that Herbert Armstrong and his hirelings promoted to their followers. For decades Armstrongism has caused people to be afraid of, and even refuse medical treatment. 

One of the most detailed records of this dreadful aspect of Armstrongism is William Hinsom's book, Broadway to Armageddon (1977). It is wise to heed the warning contained in this book.

Aren't PCG's leaders afraid that someone might unnecessarily place themselves in harm's way, or even die, reading their words on the matter of getting vaccinated to protect oneself from Covid-19? As far as is publicly known based on PCG's writings Stephen Flurry or Richard Palmer do not have any training in providing medical care. This is also true of Herbert Armstrong. They are talking about matters for which they have no professional training. The rise of particularly dangerous variants of Covid-19 such as those originating in Britain and India make it necessary to get as many people vaccinated against Covid-19 to reduce the danger of this dreadful threat. Those who are in doubt about vaccines against Covid-19 should go consult with their doctors about this topic, not unqualified people passing on unscientific scare stories.

Forgetting America's Indebtedness in the 1940s

Robert Morley has an article bemoaning so-called free money as having negative consequences. So the government chooses to be generous in providing financial assistance to help people in their time of need in this ongoing pandemic and Morley chooses to complain about the government spending money trying to help people. At one point he makes the following absurd complaint.

The national debt took more than 200 years to reach $1 trillion. It took only 26 more years [from 1982] to rise to $10 trillion in 2008, and only 12 years to exceed $27 trillion. (p. 17.)

The problem with the above statement is that Morley neglects to take inflation into account. A dollar in  1982 is worth more than it is today. A more accurate way to assess the size of the national debt is to compare the national debt to the nation's GDP instead of just looking at numbers that change due to inflation. Viewing it that way one would learn that the US reached a record level of debt in the 1940s and early 1950s due to World War II which is never mentioned in Morley's article. And that debt was greatly reduced as a percentage of GDP by about 1955. The national debt's record in and immediately after World War II has only been equaled by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a pandemic which ironically is often downplayed by the PCG leadership.

Morley used to be a regular author of articles in PCG's recruitment magazine. For whatever reason that is not the case at present.

The Infographic bemoans the decline of the US dollar's purchasing power. Instead of comparing the national to the size of the GDP it is measured compared with the price of gold which has the effect of making appear that though the US dollar has become drastically undervalued since the dollar's convertibility with gold was abolished in 1971. In the Infographic a complaint is made that abolishing the US dollar's convertibility with gold made it possible for the Federal government to print as much money as it liked but even so the national debt did not match the previous record height set because of World War II until the current coronavirus pandemic. Also the infographic does mentions that inflation is an issue when studying financial statistics but the implications of that fact is astoundingly ignored everywhere else in this recruitment magazine.

Joel Hilliker has an article saying that lying is wrong. While introducing this topic he goes on a right wing political spiel including questioning the legitimacy of last year's presidential election.

Look at the role of lying over just the past year with COVID-19, with irregularities in America's election last November, with truth and facts being censored by media and Big Tech, with leftist causes being promoted in spite of contrary facts. There is an epic amount of lying in the public sphere today. (p. 20.)

Jeremiah Jacques has an article about Elizabeth Anne Everest, the childhood nurse for Winston Churchill.

Gerald Flurry has an article saying the Former Prophets are also prophets who predict the future. It is mentioned that this article was published in PCG's other recruitment magazine, Watch Jerusalem, which is specifically targeted at making converts out of Jews.

Gerald Flurry has an article discussing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's split away from the British royal family which he hysterically denounces as causing division between America and Britain. This is an absurd claim to make. America and Britain need each other to pursue various common interests. This family rift, as tragic as it is, cannot change that fact. This is the second full length article in PCG's recruitment magazine mentioning this family split with the previous issue containing an article by Richard Palmer on this topic.

WorldWatch discusses France conducting its first military space exercises; Denmark trying to get Muslim immigrants to leave; saying the "fringe right" in the Netherlands did well in their elections even though it was a mainstream party that gained power; a petition among French police officers and soldiers claiming France is on the verge of civil war with the Muslims in it; Germany pledging $2 billion in aid to Lebanon which is portrayed as an attempt to influence that nation; Brigadier General Esmaeil Qa'ani visiting Iraq for two days in the early part of April 2021; Russia making deals with Cuba and Venezuela; President Putin signing a law that could let him remain as President as late as 2036; President Biden's decision to withdraw US forces from Afghanistan by September 11, 2021; and China opening up more coal plants while America and Europe close theirs down since it is not needed so much anymore. 

Also contained in WorldWatch is a little article scare mongering that America may soon experience hyper-inflation like in Venezuela. What PCG do not mention here is that a major reason why Venezuela is in such a mess is because their economy is heavily dependent on one resource, namely oil. In contrast America has many sources of income and consequently numerous options for managing the nation's finances. Also the US government's decision under Donald Trump to impose economic sanctions on Venezuela further exacerbates the situation.

SocietyWatch discusses the rise in gun violence in America over the last year (which is partly caused by political reluctance to change rules on this topic since such attempts are constantly blocked by the National Rifle Association, which is not explained in this little article); the problem of children finding ways to see pornography on the Internet in Britain; the introduction of military uniforms for pregnant women in the US Air Force which is portrayed in a negative manner; and reports indicating that many Canadians happen to have few savings.

Stephen Flurry has an article saying that the Fourth Commandment also requires one to work on the other six days. In this little article he condemns those who criticized Herbert Armstrong who making buildings when HWA had said Christ would return in just a few years. Stephen Flurry neglects to mention that it was Herbert Armstrong who told his followers from 1953 onwards that Christ would return in 1975.

Some people criticized Mr. Armstrong for continuing to expand the work of God's true Church by constructing new buildings when they thought Jesus Christ's return was immanent. [Stephen Flurry then cites Herbert Armstrong's August 28, 1967 Co-Worker Letter to settle his point.] (p. 33.) 

The discussion board has three letters condemning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Here's a letter from a person in North Carolina who has disconnected himself from mainstream sources of information.

I quit watching and listening to the mainstream media several years ago and now depend on the PCG for almost all my news. I read the Trumpet from cover to cover every month. I listen to your podcast as often as I am able, making sure that I hear the weekly wrap-up every week. My life just would not be the same without you.

It is frightful to imagine a person such as the one cited above choosing to take this issue's statements about Covid-19 vaccines at face value. By depending on PCG to provide the news for this person alternative perspectives will be harder to notice or listen to for this person.

Here's a letter from a person bemoaning gay people. The letter is in response to an article complaining about the transgender community and efforts to make society more responsive to the needs and concerns of the transgender community.

The only answer to this is the Word of God. ... Most churches have become one with the world, with their gay flags flying. We have kicked God out of churches, the home, schools and government, and have become a lawless society. Man has caused the problem, but man can't fix it. Only God can.

Joel Hilliker has an article denouncing the political left in Britain for supposedly exaggerating the problem of systemic racism. 

The left has no interest in significant, documented improvements in race relations. That is because their power comes from dividing people. (p. 35.)

But PCG also creates divisions between people. Those labelled as "Laodiceans" are shunned by PCG members for either not being in PCG or for being removed or choosing to leave PCG. PCG publishes a book, namely Mystery of the Ages, that demonizes the doctrine of the Holy Trinity as a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which is viewed by some Christians as the unpardonable sin. Also in this book interracial marriage is condemned as contrary to (HWA's) God's will. Furthermore PCG teaches that it is the only true church in the world thus dividing PCG members from the rest of the world. PCG is very divisive.

And so we see that PCG continues to try to attract new members and keep current members persuaded to remain within PCG. However there is no need to be afraid of the PCG leadership's words of doom and gloom about events supposed to occur before Christ's return. Since its founding in 1989 PCG's leaders have made numerous false prophecies that failed to occur thus proving that the PCG leadership do not know what will happen in the future. And since they are wrong about their claimed ability to predict the future why listen to the PCG leadership about vaccines either?

As for vaccine hesitancy many have been dismayed by the prevalence of this tendency among some people. Many have wondered how they can be persuaded to get vaccinated. But just because some people choose to do this you don't have to do so. Those who get vaccinated against Covid-19 will make America, or whichever nation they happen to live in, stronger against that dreadful disease. Those who get vaccinated protect themselves and those around them from Covid-19 by getting vaccinated. 

That dreadful disease can and will be put under control if everyone do their part.

Whither PCG's Robert Morley?

From the August 2016 issue of PCG's recruitment magazine onward Robert Morley has only had two articles published in that publication. He was still listed as a contributing editor up to the February 2018 issue but his listing as a contributing editor also disappeared without comment in the March 2018 issue.

This fact may be seen in the following list of his articles since the January 2016 issue. It is clear that since the July 2016 issue he has only been given two articles credited to him. Issues after February 2018 are omitted reflecting the fact that he was no longer listed as a contributing editor at that point.

I do not know why this has happened to Robert Morley. I shall here refrain from speculation except to note that he does not get a byline for PCG's recruitment magazine anymore.

Overview of the September 2017 Issue of PCG's Philadelphia Trumpet

PCG has released another issue of their recruitment magazine (September 2017) in an attempt to gain more tithes paying converts. Back in 2012 PCG had an income of about $19.5 million according to a booklet by their leader, Gerald Flurry. Even as early as 1996 PCG claimed to have more than $5 million in annual income. Recently PCG has even bought its own plane.

Let us see what they say this time.

The editors of this issue are Gerald Flurry, Stephen Flurry, Joel Hilliker, Brad MacDonald, Richard Palmer, Robert Morley, Jeremiah Jacques, Dennis Leap and Phillip Nice.

The circulation of this issue was 245,925 issues. August's circulation was 255,897 issues. July's circulation was 267,569. May-June's circulation was 263,551. April's circulation was 267,569 (which happens to be the same as July's figure). March's circulation was 271,949. February was 273,591. January was 267,992.

The contents page features a picture of the Grenfell Tower fire in London on June 14, 2017 in which at least eighty people were killed.

Gerald Flurry has an article hysterically entitled, "The Fall of the British Royal Family" bemoaning that the British royal family is going along with the supposed increase in behavior contrary to PCG's dogmas that supposedly will lead to Britain being conquered by a German led European Empire. He also complains of the Labour Party's Jeremy Corbyn even though he is not in power.

PCG teaches that the British royal family is a continuation of the House of David described in the Old Testament. This is a feature of British Israelism., the idea that the British are descendants of the Israelites mentioned in the Old Testament. There is no genetic evidence linking the British people with the Jewish people. The alleged ancestral link between the British and Jews as claimed by promoters of British Israelism is nonsense.

Abraham Blondeau has a little column accompanying this article that scare mongers that Canada may soon abolish the monarchy.

Jeremiah Jacques has an article discussing the twentieth anniversary of the end of British rule over Hong Kong and its return to China in 1997.

Joel Hilliker has an article bemoaning about how bad things are in certain parts of the world.

Richard Palmer has an article scare mongering about the recent G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany and the protesters accompanying that summit. Among other things he ludicrously implies that Adolf Hitler's National Socialist German Workers' Party was somehow left wing because it had the word "socialist" in its name.

Richard Palmer also has an article scare mongering about German intelligence supposedly spying on Americans.

Andrew Müller has an article which discusses the problem of desertification and insists all will be solved after Christ's return.

The Infographic insists that farming methods are contrary to (PCG's) God's law which will supposedly be in force after Christ's return. Among other things it is insisted that the land Sabbath (shmita) is to be observed by farmers despite farmers involved with HWA's WCG encountering severe problems and even bankruptcy trying to observe this religious practice in the past.

Samuel Livingston has an article scare mongering about hearers, people encouraged to listen to voices in their heads. Quite irresponsibly Livingston insists that voices in peoples' heads are the work of Satan. Banned by HWA discussed an earlier version of this article.

Christopher Eames has an article insisting that the great flood of Genesis 6-9 was literally true. Many other churches unconnected to HWA's organization also say the same thing.

Joel Hilliker has a little article promoting happy marriages.

Robert Morley has a little article hysterically proclaiming that people cannot trust institutions anymore.

WorldWatch discusses Germany supposedly about to be a peace broker between the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority; the triumph of  La République en Marche in France's legislative election; the sell off of Banco Popular in Spain for a single euro; the Saudi led blockade of Qatar; Iran producing more long range missiles citing an announcement by the National Resistance Council of Iran, an organization closely linked to the Mojahedin-e Khalq which was formerly listed as a terrorist organization by the US State Department from 1997 till 2012; the presence of Assad regime armed forces and Hezbollah near the State of Israel; Russia and China agreeing to increase military cooperation; scare mongering of Russia buying more gold; and India's admission into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

SocietyWatch discusses Canada extending legal protections to transgender people; that more Americans believe in evolution; and scare mongering about the household debt of Australians.

There are letters. Here's one letter from Augusta, Georgia from a person persuaded by PCG's constant demonization of Iran which is done to convince readers that Gerald Flurry's proclamation in 1994 that Iran is the "King of the South" somehow proves that God is with PCG.

I have been reading the magazine for some time and agree that your analysis has been spot on in the issue of Iran. I really enjoy the magazine and feel that we are entering a time that really leads up to the end times. I pray each day more people will come to realize what the future holds. It seems God is holding off some of the disaster, hoping that people will change their way of living, but it seems that history is about to repeat itself.

Here's a letter from Coram, New York from a person who had been reading PCG's recruitment magaizine since about 2005 who praises PCG as making accurate predictions despite their record of making numerous failed and inaccurate predictions.

I have to tell you this is the most amazing periodical I have ever read. I have been reading it for 12 years now and everything you have said will happen or has happened. But that doesn’t surprise me because the Bible doesn’t lie.

Here's a letter from Long Beach, California from a person disillusioned with President Trump.

I was so happy when I discovered the Trumpet by accident. I read the one with Donald Trump on it four times over. According to this book, we are close to World War III. I don’t care for President Trump, but some members of my family think he is a gift from God. I told my daughters that he was going to lead us to destruction and they didn’t believe me. Then I found the Trumpet and it agreed with me! I really love the PCG. I am not really good with the Bible, but you put it all before me; I can read with the Bible and it is easier for me to understand. I appreciate your work so much.

And so we see that PCG's 1% has produced yet another issue of their recruitment magazine seeking to gain new recruits and to keep their followers overawed towards PCG's 1% by thinking that they can see the future. However since its founding in 1989 PCG has made at least 52 failed predictions. Getting a British columnist to talk at their headquarters cannot change that fact. Clearly PCG's leaders are but false prophets. There is no need to fear their dire proclamations. PCG's leaders are but false prophets.

Overview of the February 2017 Issue of PCG's Philadelphia Trumpet

PCG's leaders have released a new issue of their recruitment magazine, The Philadelphia Trumpet, to try and attract more members to join their organization and pay the three tithes this organization teach to their followers. Back in 2012 one of PCG's booklets boasted that PCG had an income of about $19.5 million.

Let's take a look.

The editors are Gerald Flurry, Stephen Flurry, Joel Hilliker, Brad MacDonald, Richard Palmer, Robert Morley, Jeremiah Jacques, Dennis Leap and Phillip Nice.

This issue has a circulation of 273,591. January's circulation was 267,992. November-December was 277,131. October was 280,116. September was 282,121. August was 278,357. July was 281,190.

Gerald Flurry has a personal article scare mongering that God has cursed America citing the recent presidential election. He cites a column by Peggy Noonan to make this superstitious claim. Noonan happens to be Catholic and so it is likely she believes many things that PCG's leaders would strongly object to.

Brad MacDonald has an article which cites the terrorist attack in Berlin in which twelve innocent people were murdered to scare monger that Germany will soon arise with the rest of Europe to conquer the United States.

Richard Palmer has an article scare mongering that democracy is dying citing the rise of populist political movements in the Western world. Considering that PCG prides itself on having "one-man rule" which is supposedly (PCG's) God's way of governing it seems a bit odd for them to produce an article defending democracy.

Abraham Blondeau has a little article bemoaning the supposed suppression of true history by educational institutions. The article indulges in some red baiting.

The students who rioted on university campuses against the Vietnam War or protested over civil rights are now the instructors. Individuals with radical political views, especially those who espouse communism, have become powerful voices in the American educational system. Many view communism as an alternative to the U.S. Constitution. Barack Obama is a product of such radical instructors. (Request a free copy of [a 2013 booklet by Gerald Flurry which calls President Obama "another Antiochus" comparing him to Antiochus Epiphanes and Tkach] for more background on Mr. Obama’s education.) (p. 9.)

Jeremiah Jacques has an article discussing the widespread concern about fake news to lambaste mainstream media as favoring the left.

While actual fake news truly is destructive, the sudden hysteria surrounding it is partly an attempt by mainstream media to deflect blame for their own transgressions and to disparage their competition. It is not difficult to see how the drive to kill fake news could be expanded to include legitimate nonmainstream sources. It isn’t difficult to see how such a crusade could be used to silence dissent and unpopular opinions—even when that dissent and those opinions are truthful. (p. 14.)

PCG teaches that they can foresee the future and, among other things, say that the Untied States will soon be conquered by a European entity led by Germany which will arise as a military superpower which will crush the United States in the near future. Do they think someone might label that as fake news?

Jacques also lambaste "social justice warriors." The use of this derogatory phrase insinuates that social justice is somehow undesirable.

Before the vote, Matthews and hundreds of thousands of others had existed inside a certain version of America. In that America, several things were clear: Mr. Trump was a racist, sexist individual who was equal parts monster and clown; he had no real chance of victory; and the political right was comprised mainly of white supremacists destined to be beaten into guilty submission by the unstoppable force of social justice warriors and other progressives. (p. 12.)

And what will (PCG's) Christ deliver to the world after the second coming? Is social justice to be neglected at that time? Why do PCG members even yearn for the Millennium if social justice is not desired?

An anonymous little article boasts about PCG translating their writings into other languages.

The Church, which publishes the Trumpet and theTrumpet.com, includes a translations department staffed almost entirely by Church member volunteers. Working remotely from Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Suriname and the United Kingdom, about 50 volunteers, dozens of whom have been serving for years, have produced about 30 videos, more than 250 combined pieces of literature and more than 60 lessons of the [unaccredited] Herbert W. Armstrong College Bible Correspondence Course for the four websites. (p. 15.)

Robert Morley, a man who taught himself about economics, has an article scare mongering that the federal debt will somehow cause the United States to collapse even though the United States was actually more in debt per capita back in the 1940s because of World War II. The federal debt is at present not that much of a problem because it is a public debt denominated in the currency produced by the US government thus it is not possible for anyone to force the US government to default on its debt.

The Infographic is this bizarre demonology of various intellectuals that PCG's leaders seem to view negatively.

Andrew Müller has an article scare mongering that Pope Francis will somehow oppose Trump once he takes office due to his stance on immigration.

Brent Nagtegaal has an article condemning Dr. Israel Finkelstein for identifying a certain layer of strata as being after the time of David and Solomon. It is insisted that the layer must be dated to the time of David and Solomon.

Joel Hilliker has a little article calling upon his readers to focus on what is important in life.

Kieran Underwood has an article which responds to those who wanted Britain to withdraw from the European Union by saying that human nature is fated to doom any such political endeavor to failure. PCG teaches that the world will be brought to the brink of the annihilation of all humanity before Christ's return.

Worldwatch discusses the following topics: scare mongering about moves to create a European Union army; Chancellor Merkel's condemnation of the burqa; scare mongering that Algeria may fall apart if President Abdulaziz Bouteflika may die; scare mongering about Egypt becoming more friendly with Iran; scare mongering that Iran's allies won the election in Lebanon; scare mongering about Japan authorizing its military to use force while serving in a peacekeeping mission in civil war ravaged South Sudan; bewailing the supposed obsolescence of the British navy; and mention of China's condemnation of Trump's conversation with the prime minister of Taiwan.

SocietyWatch discusses Black Lives Matter activists posting a eulogy to Fidel Castro upon his death in order to condemn both of them and the increased rate of depression among American teenagers.

There are letters. Here is one letter accusing those who accuse others of being racist as "the true racists". Could he be talking about African Americans?

Certainly, you raised some praiseworthy points.... Choosing the worst or best of two rotten choices is difficult at best. As for racism, it seems to me that the true racists are now the very ones spewing the accusations!

Here is one letter from a person denouncing welfare, liberals and teachers' unions by citing an anecdote concerning one woman and her children that occurred decades ago.

You are so correct. Talk about a hypocritical nation. I’m thinking that the system that the liberals created to help certain groups actually does exactly what they define as racist. Decades ago, when I had a business, I asked an employee, “Are you babysitting your brother and sister today?” She said, “No, they are my children.” I said, “You look so young.” And she said, “I am not going to make the same mistake my mom made. I am going to have all my children before I am 25 so that I can enjoy the money.” I really wanted to cry. How sad that the welfare system puts these young women and children at such a disadvantage. Each one of these new standards and expectations in the list could be expanded to show that the liberals, unions and the Democratic Party have set up systems that leave one or more groups of people behind. Look at what the teachers’ union and liberals have done to the education system—particularly in the inner cities. The hypocrisy is so sad. Save the whales, but it is OK to kill babies.

Here is one letter from New South Wales, Australia from a person who is regularly published in the letters section of this publication. Very likely this person is a PCG member. The letter mocks university students who were disappointed at Trump's victory.

I don’t believe that the university students who are being given coloring books, playdoh, therapy dogs and safe spaces are really suffering any trauma from Mr. Trump’s election. Their behavior is a manipulative lie to silence those who are of a different political opinion. They claim it’s about tolerance, inclusiveness and diversity, but it’s the very opposite. It is about control and getting their own way. It is most definitely not love!

And so we see that PCG has produced yet another issue of their recruitment magazine to try and persuade more people to join them and start paying them three tithes.

PCG: Millennium to Arrive "Sooner Than You Think"

Robert Morley recently hosted an episode of The Trumpet Daily (January 12, 2017). He talked about topics discussed in Trump's recent press conference including the proposed wall at the border with Mexico and possible protectionist policies.

Near the end Morley insists that the only real solution is for the entire world to be united in a government of (PCG's) God after Christ's return. All attempts to manage such problems before then are doomed to failure due to the "tough times" of the Great Tribulation and America being conquered by Europeans. PCG and the other COG groups have constantly insisted that this catastrophe will soon occur.

The solution is a totally, complete, different, opposite of the spectrum thing from walls and barriers. Believe it or not, and you don't hear this too much on the Trumpet, but the solution is one world government. Now we're not talking about the one world government that most people think is coming, you know, with the Bilderbergers or some conspiracy theory. But the government of [PCG's] God. Ultimately that is what is going to take to solve these things. A government of [PCG's] God. A government working for all people on this earth and this government is coming sooner than you think. And that really is a good thing. And that really is something that all peoples of the world can look forward to. That's coming sooner than most of us can think. And you, we can all be very, very thankful for that. But first some tough times before we get there. (49 minutes.)

PCG has made many outlandish predictions over the years. Many of these predictions have miserably failed. There is no need to fear their dire proclamations of a future catastrophe. There is no reason to think that they know the future. They do not.

PCG Used Fidel Castro to Scare Their Followers

Fidel Castro has passed away. Let's take a look at how PCG talked about him over the years.

This post is not about Fidel Castro or the one party society he created in Cuba. This post is about how PCG's leaders have used him to spread fear among their followers so that we can better understand how PCG's 1% are able to maintain the loyalty of their lay members.

They made their followers fear him by fixating on his relations with rivals of the United States.

Friendly gestures he made to the Vatican were presented as a sign that the Catholic Church would soon rise to great power there and in Latin America generally.

They insisted that he would have soon fallen due to economic pressure ignoring evidence to the contrary such as how the Castro regime's survived through the "special period" of the 1990s which PCG's leaders never bothered to discuss in their writings on their website dating back to 1998.

They stirred up painful memories of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Gerald Flurry even scare mongered that Castro may have been involved in the Kennedy assassination in his 2016 booklet, Great Again. (If so then why did the US government not publicize such information back then?)

PCG's leaders also used him to attack leftists they did not like revealing their alignment to the political right.

Criticism certainly deserves to be made especially when authorities make it difficult to share such feelings but one can scarcely imagine what could possibly justify the grotesque and uninformative ad hominen attack which talked of him in the following way while hypothetically wondering what would happen after his death: "the ailing dictator Castro finally yields his diseased body up to death." There is no appeal to any kind of higher idealism with that statement. Referring to him as a "diseased body" does not say anything about his wrongs. That was a grotesque, crude and superfluous thing to say that does not treat political affairs with the seriousness they deserve.

Also worth noting is the instance of plagiarism in a March 2015 article by Gerald Flurry which plagiarized passages from an article by Jeremiah Jacques dated January 5, 2015. It is highlighted below,

Squeezed between the seemingly all-powerful United States to the north and the giant Catholic countries within the huge continent to its south, Fidel Castro’s Cuba has seemingly taken a most uncharacteristic, yet, given the economic and political circumstances, a most obvious, position. With U.S.-sanctioned embargoes limiting trade with North America, Castro must see the writing on the wall. ...

Preparing for the inevitable, Castro began easing formal restrictions on religious worship. In 1992, the Cuban government, officially atheist since 1962, declared it was now adopting a secular approach. The people immediately commenced a religious revival.

Castro visited the pope at the Vatican in November 1996. An invitation was issued to John Paul II to visit Cuba. The pope accepted, but on his terms, which included free movement, equal participation of the church in organizing the visit, and free expression of faith in services. Castro submitted to the pope’s demands.

As a gesture of goodwill to the Vatican, Castro re-introduced the Christmas holiday on December 25, 1997. Roman Catholic parishes in Havana were packed with worshipers that day. Church bells rang out in celebration all over Cuba. Two days later, Cardinal Jaime Ortega, archbishop of Havana and leader of the Catholic Church in Cuba, cried out to a gathering of 1,200 young, newly religious hopefuls, “In your search for sense in your life, look for a centering place: the Catholic Church.” Religious fervor increased the closer the Cubans got to January 21, 1998—the date of the pope’s arrival in Havana. A year ago, the EU, which has continuously opposed the U.S. trade embargo against Fidel Castro’s Cuba, reached out to that island nation and opened an office in Havana. Already, the EU, Cuba’s most significant trading partner, accounts for 80 percent of Cuba’s imports. (Ron Fraser, The Other America, February 2004.)

Even in the tiny, deprived nation of Cuba, Fidel Castro fetes both Catholic and Orthodox leaders as he seeks a patron to finance Cuban development following the loss of aid from the old Soviet Union. Will it be the Catholic EU, or Orthodox Russia, that moves in once the aging dictator fades from the scene? Castro has enough of a mind for history to understand that unfashionable communism must be replaced by another ideology as an “opiate to the masses,” to steal a phrase from Karl Marx. Since January 2003, Cuba’s trade with Brazil and Mercosur has doubled. The president of Brazil said that he favors trade with Latin American countries over the U.S. or the European Union. He and the president of Argentina have opposed the U.S. trade embargo of Cuba and want to increase their own trade with President Fidel Castro. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has made a point of putting his friendship with Castro in the public eye and painting the U.S. in the most wretched colors possible. The state-run oil firms of Brazil and Venezuela plan to begin construction on a $20 million lubricants factory in Cuba. (Trade Bloc Courts Communist Cuba, May 2005.)

Perhaps no other visit to that region demonstrated this more vividly than the pope’s call on Fidel Castro’s socialist state of Cuba. Unable to resist the power of John Paul’s charisma, Castro acceded to the pope’s request to reinstitute Christmas as a public holiday for the first time since the socialist revolution. Unprecedentedly, he permitted the live telecasting of John Paul’s papal mass delivered before an enthralled public, starved of religion, in Havana. Consider also that Fidel Castro’s regime in Cuba might have collapsed by this point if not for the aid he has received from President Chavez. A simple reading of international headlines would tell anyone that the U.S. has two main opponents in Latin America right now: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and the seemingly immortal Fidel Castro of Cuba. What might not be so evident is the support both countries have from China. ...

Latin American and African countries may be poor, but they are rich in resources, and China wants those assets. Right now, Beijing is systematically planting its feet in those regions. They failed to see that despite the posturing of petty despots such as Chavez, Morales and their aging mentor, President Fidel Castro of Cuba, the trend is fixed. Do we really want Latin American leaders to emulate Castro?

That is exactly the direction things seem to be heading. Consider Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Without this man’s support, Castro’s regime in Cuba might have collapsed by now. Having lost the Soviet Union’s subsidization of oil after the Cold War, Castro found relief from Caracas. Perhaps the best example of what is happening to Latin America as a region is embodied in this man who would remake Latin America in Cuba’s image. So personal to Kirchner is the issue that he has gone so far as to enlist the support of other left-leaning leaders in South America such as Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez. Kirchner’s quest for sovereignty over the Falklands, according to Buenos Aires-based political analyst Rosendo Fraga, has evolved from being an issue of mere sovereignty for Argentina to one that is “provid[ing] a rallying point to gather left-leaning Latin American governments into an anti-colonial bloc” (Guardian, June 30). Whether by design or circumstance, this huge indebtedness of Cuba to Venezuela has placed Chavez in a strong position to heavily influence the political outcome in Havana when the ailing dictator Castro finally yields his diseased body up to death. Critics say Chavez’s actions are a continuing threat to democracy, and that the president is trying to model Venezuela after Cuba. Chavez and Cuban dictator Fidel Castro are good friends. (Chavez Calls for Changes to Consitution, August 16, 2007.)

Cuba’s oldest despot, Fidel Castro, raised eyebrows this week with an announcement that he is ready to take a reduced role in running Cuba. The most interesting reaction came from Spiegel Online: “German opinion on the Communist leader’s announcement was united on one front: the chance for Germany and Europe to take action on Cuba is now.” Watch for relations between Latin America and Europe, with Germany as its economic hub, to improve. Fidel Castro on Saturday scoffed at the idea of major political change after Cuba’s parliament chooses a new president. Writing on the front page of the Communist Party Granma, the 81-year-old Castro, who announced his retirement after 49 years as head of Cuba on Tuesday, laughed at suggestions in news reports that his retirement would pave the way for political changes. It’s almost as though “Comrade Fidel” has an inside track on how his brother might run Cuba. (Stephen Flurry, The Weekend Web, February 24, 2008.)

The moment the U.S. awaited for 50 years finally arrived: On February 19, Cuban despot Fidel Castro announced his resignation. Ever since Castro brought the world to the brink of war by allowing the USSR to install nuclear missiles in his island nation, he has been the poster boy for anti-Americanism. He has also inspired a host of imitators in Latin America, including Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Bolivian President Evo Morales. The Cuban National Assembly gave the reins of power to Fidel’s 76-year-old brother Raul, guaranteeing no substantial change in the direction of the country for the present. (WorldWatch, April 2008.)

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter concluded a nine-day tour of the Middle East on Monday, during which he met with Hamas leaders Khalid Mashaal and Nasser Shaer, and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, among other terrorists and terrorist sponsors. This is simply the latest in a long line of foreign-policy initiatives by Carter that have helped legitimize and strengthen America’s enemies, dating back to his own presidency when he aided the likes of Fidel Castro, Robert Mugabe and North Korea. It is worth remembering that, before he was elected, Mr. Obama received notable if unwanted endorsements from North Korea’s Kim Jong Il, Cuba’s Fidel Castro, and number-two Hezbollah leader Sheik Naim al-Kassim (who said a vote for Obama was a step toward “peace with Islam”). In June last year, the European Union agreed to lift limited sanctions against Cuba. As the Wall Street Journal reported at the time, this was “a hotly contested move designed to encourage the country’s new government under Raul Castro to liberalize. [T]he move was a victory for Cuba and put the EU at odds with U.S. policy” (June 20, 2008).

This move by the EU came only three months after the Vatican suddenly appeared on the scene as the very first of the murderous Raul Castro’s guests. Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone touched down in Havana just one day after Cuban leader Fidel Castro announced the end to his 49-year reign of terror. Time magazine observed that this was “perfect timing for the Vatican, which is aiming to play a central role in the island nation’s transition into what many hope will be a post-Communist future” (February 20).

The very fact that Russia’s President Medvedev and Cuba’s Fidel Castro lauded the awarding of this much-sullied prize to the American president does little to install confidence in those (such as Poland and the world’s whipping boy, the tiny nation of Israel) who once looked upon America as their protector and the defender of peace in an increasingly shaky, disorderly world. President Obama has found an unexpected—and perhaps unwelcome—supporter for his agenda: Fidel Castro. “The extreme right hates him [President Obama] for being African-American and fights what the president does to improve the deteriorated image of that country,” the former Cuban president wrote in his state newspaper column on August 25. “I don’t have the slightest doubt that the racist right will do everything possible to wear him down, blocking his program to get him out of the game one way or another, at the least political cost.” Clearly, Castro knows a socialist agenda when he sees one. While successive U.S. presidential administrations have been ignoring Cuba for decades, Pope Benedict XVI and his Vatican hierarchy have been working behind the scenes to collaborate with Havana to combat the U.S.-led embargo and to support the Cuban government’s incremental economic reforms. This strategy is now paying off for the Vatican, as the Castro regime has recently come to recognize the Catholic Church as a legitimate interlocutor between the government and the Cuban people. Given this new recognition and the advanced age of both Castro brothers, Archbishop of Havana Jaime Ortega may soon emerge as a major power broker shaping the post-Castro destiny of the island. On Friday, Putin visited communist revolutionary and former Cuban leader Fidel Castro in Havana to reignite relations with the communist island. Russia’s history with Cuba is no secret. Some of the most tense moments in the 20th century centered on relations between the Soviet Union and Cuba. At the height of the Cold War, the Cuban missile crisis brought the world as close as it’s ever been to nuclear war. Cuba was the Soviet launchpad into the United States. The Castro regime in Cuba has a half century of history of collaborating with Russia, Iran, Syria, North Korea and a myriad of authoritarian regimes that seek the downfall of America. Along with President Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran, the thawing of relations with Cuba will likely be remembered as one of the premiere diplomatic feats of his presidency! Did the Castro brothers have a big hand in assassinating the U.S. president? I’m not saying that happened, but with this report it certainly seems like you could make a strong case for it. ...

Do you suppose the Soviets and the Castros were wrathful against John F. Kennedy? His administration ruined a plan that would have either held America at nuclear gunpoint—or would have destroyed it in gigantic nuclear balls of fire! PCG's Reliance on Breitbart News

So as part of her presidential campaign recently Clinton made a speech condemning Trump's connections to the alt-right and she condemned his connections with Stephen Bannon, the editor of Breitbart News.

Among other things it has since emerged that this editor was once charged with domestic violence against his ex-wife in 1996.

The Santa Monica, Calif., police report says that Bannon’s then-wife claimed he pulled at her neck and wrist during an altercation over their finances, and an officer reported witnessing red marks on her neck and wrist to bolster her account. Bannon also reportedly smashed the phone when she tried to call the police. ... the case ended when Bannon's ex-wife did not appear in court, ... 

Bannon, through a spokeswoman, said he was never interviewed by the police about the incident. Bannon pleaded "not guilty" to the allegations and was represented by a local criminal defense attorney during the proceedings. It has also been reported that his ex-wife mentioned him as privately expressing anti-Semitic hostility against Jews.

In a sworn court declaration following their divorce, Piccard said her ex-husband had objected to sending their twin daughters to an elite Los Angeles academy because he “didn’t want the girls going to school with Jews”. 

“He said he doesn’t like Jews and that he doesn’t like the way they raise their kids to be ‘whiney brats,’” Piccard said in a 2007 court filing. [A spokeswoman for Bannon has denied this assertion.] ... 

Bannon’s remarks about Jews followed other comments that caught Piccard’s attention when they were visiting private schools in 2000. 

At one school, she said, he asked the director why there were so many Hanukkah books in the library. At another school, he asked Piccard if it bothered her that the school used to be in a temple. 

“I said, ‘No,’ and asked why he asked,” Piccard said. “He did not respond.” 

Piccard said Bannon wanted the girls to attend a Catholic school. 

In 2007, when the girls were accepted at Archer, he told Piccard he objected because of the number of Jews in attendance. (Trump campaign CEO Stephen Bannon denies antisemitic remarks. Associated Press, as quoted in The Guardian, August 27, 2016.)

I wondered if PCG has been reading this media outlet. Let's take a look.

As it turned out PCG's writers have cited this media outlet in twenty articles since 2006. This includes articles by Gerald Flurry, Stephen Flurry, Robert Morley, Joel Hilliker, Anthony Chibarirwe and Sam Livingston. One July 2, 2014 article even mentions Bannon conducting an interview. PCG's writers have never criticized this media outlet. It seems clear that PCG's leaders trust Breitbart Media.

PCG first mentioned this media outlet while condemning a decision by Presbyterians to use gender neutral language to describe the Holy Trinity. Considering PCG does not even believe in the Trinity anyway why would they object to how a doctrine they do not follow is described?

According to breitbart.com,

A panel that worked on the issue since 2000 said the classical language for the trinity should still be used, but added that Presbyterians also should seek “fresh ways to speak of the mystery of the triune God” to “expand the church’s vocabulary of praise and wonder.” 

One reason is that language limited to the Father and Son “has been used to support the idea that God is male and that men are superior to women,” the panel said. (Presbyterians Gender-Neutralize “Trinity”, June 22, 2006.)

Breitbart is mentioned in discussing a drought in Australia.

And in Australia, the problem is not much better. The island continent is in the midst of its “third-worst drought in the country’s history. The so-called Big Dry is affecting the eastern states of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, as well as South Australia and the southern island of Tasmania” (Breitbart.com, July 24). Australia is already a dry nation; and it is growing drier by the year. (Heat and Drought Plague the West, August 2, 2006.)

Breitbart is mentioned in discussing German banks leaving Iran because of various sanctioned imposed on Iran over its nuclear power program.

Breitbart.com reported the Financial Times Deutschland as saying “that European financial institutions feared losing out on lucrative business with the United States if they remained active in Iran, after U.S. officials threatened the banks’ boards with consequences.” (Iran Warns German Banks: If You Leave, Don’t Come Back, August 23, 2007.)

Breitbart is cited to vilify Obama's supporters as being overly devoted to him. Consideirng that PCG insists that their leader is "That Prophet" and the only man through whom their "god" operates among humanity it seems strange that such people should think they can stop people from being too fanatical.

James Taranto printed this collection of news items about people fainting at Obama’s campaign rallies, and Breitbart TV has this clip telling the same story. (Stephen Flurry, The Weekend Web, February 17, 2008.)

Breitbart is cited in discussing the Vatican's disapproval of a certain policy by the Obama Administration.

The Vatican is already on President Obama’s case for his liberal policies. Breitbart reports,

A senior Vatican official on Saturday attacked U.S. President Barack Obama for “arrogance” for overturning a ban on state funding for family-planning groups that carry out or facilitate abortions overseas. (Joel Hilliker, The Weekend Web, January 25, 2009.)

Here PCG scare mongers that the dollar is falling.

Breitbart reports that the dollar hit a new all-time low against the Swiss Franc Tuesday. Earlier this month the dollar hit all-time lows against gold. Today it also hit a 35-year low against coffee. In fact, the dollar has been cascading against virtually all commodities over the past decade and has even been plunging against other paper currencies—down 6.5 percent against a basket of currencies so far this year. At this point PCG stopped citing this media source until January 2014. Then it is mentioned in an article bemoaning the lack of work for Americans.

Making the numbers even weaker was the fact that, as Breitbart’s Mike Flynn observed, well over half—40,000—of the 74,000 jobs added to the economy in December were in temporary employment. (Anthony Chibarirwe, Where Are the Jobs?, January 27, 2014.)

PCG's Stephen Flurry cited an interview Senator Cruz had with this media outlet discussing immigration.

“It is a direct consequence of the president’s illegal actions. The parents think, ‘If I send my child [to the U.S.], my child will have amnesty.’ That’s what the president of the U.S. has said. It is the exact opposite of a humane approach to immigration or to securing our borders” (Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to Breitbart, June 6). Sam Livingston cited an interview the executive chairman of the media outlet had made while discussing the immigration situation.

The border crisis is leaving gaps in security, allowing illegals, specifically gang affiliates trafficking drugs, to sneak into the United States. Hector Garza is the spokesman for the Laredo Border Patrol Union. Breitbart News executive chairman Stephen K. Bannon asked Garza in an interview:

Are you saying that because the brave men and women of the Border Patrol are being overwhelmed and taken off their post to attend to the children and teenagers who are coming across the border, that the bad guys, the drug runners, the cartels, the criminals, are able to slip in?

Garza’s reply: “That is correct, sir.” 

Isn’t that the duty of the Border Patrol, to keep these sorts of people out? Garza estimates that “at least 70 percent of our Border Patrol manpower is not patrolling the border” (ibid). (Sam Livingston, Should Border Patrol Agents Be Trained to Change Diapers?, July 2, 2014.)

PCG's Robert Morley cited this media outlet while discussing menacing threats from a militia leader during the Cliven Bundy crisis.

Scott Shaw, co-founder of the Oklahoma Volunteer Militia, which boasts 50,000 members, said they were armed with AK-47s, AR-15s, sniper rifles and other military surplus hardware. He told Breitbart News they were prepared to use deadly force if necessary. (Robert Morley, Outlaws, July 2014.)

Senator Cruz's interview with this media outlet is mentioned again in PCG's recruitment magazine portraying illegal immigration as being used by President Obama to change the demography of the nation. What xenophobic paranoia.

A June 9 Washington Times editorial identified the bigger picture of what this ongoing, solvable-yet-escalating immigration crisis means for the nation as a whole: “The children’s surge is another consequence of the president making good on his vow to ‘fundamentally transform’ America.” 

“It is a direct consequence of the president’s illegal actions,” Sen. Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, told Breitbart. “The parents think, If I send my child [to the U.S.], my child will have amnesty” (June 6). (Stephen Flurry, Borderline Breakdown, September 2014.)

Morley cited this media outlet while making an Islamophobic outburst against participants of an anti-extremism meeting that President Obama attended.

President Obama said the conference would build upon his strategy of “Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States.” Problem is that many of these local partners are the extremists. Here is how Breitbart described the Boston delegation of Muslim leaders: ... [Quoting a Breitbart article:]" (Robert Morley, Fables About Islam and Destroying America From Within, March 6, 2015.) 

Morley mentioned this media outlet while condemning the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

President Barack Obama is set to push through a new trade deal with Asia. It is called the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Will this increase or decrease the trade deficit? Will this increase or decrease prosperity for America? The president’s own party is against it. The unions say it will reduce jobs. Many Republicans say they are for it, yet as Breitbart reported, only two senators out of 54 have read the deal. Remember Sen. Nancy Pelosi’s “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it”? Now Republicans are saying the same thing.  This media outlet is cited again while scare mongering about illegal immigrants.

While illegal immigrants account for only 3.5 percent of the U.S. population, they represented almost 37 percent of federal sentences, according to U.S. Sentencing Commission data obtained by Breitbart News. (SocietyWatch, September 2015.)

PCG's leader, Gerald Flurry, cited this media outlet while scare mongering about Iran.

Recent reports also indicate that Iran has established itself in Eritrea. A January 27 Breitbart News report said Egyptian intelligence has found a secret Iranian base built “at the port of Assab in Eritrea on the Red Sea.” (Gerald Flurry, Germany's Secret Strategy to Destroy Iran, Part 1, 2015.)

Stephen Flurry cited this media outlet while denouncing the resignation of the University of Missouri's President after protests by Black Lives Matter activists.

These University of Missouri activists, from Concerned Student 1950, won a major victory, as Breitbart noted it its article “How Cop Killer-Quoting Activists ‘Inspired by #BlackLivesMatter’ Forced University of Missouri President Out.” ... Breitbart said the protesters’ “big victory was shutting down the homecoming parade as stunned onlookers—including many small children—were forced to watch the megaphone-wielding activists scream at the crowd about slavery while blocking now-ex-president Wolfe’s car. At the end, they all [chanted Shakur’s words].” (Stephen Flurry, University of Missouri: Where Racism Merges With Violent Youth Culture, November 13, 2015.)

Robert Morley did so as well.

As Breitbart News wrote on November 9, “Given the hydra of hysterical campus activism that … is springing up across the nation, it’s hard to know where it will end.” But you can know where it will end. The Bible says where it will end. (Robert Morley, Race Riots Coming to a College Campus Near You, November 20, 2015.)

This quote was used for PCG's recruitment magazine.

Wolfe’s resignation marks a major victory for the activists, and the media attention it attracted has spread the frenzy to other universities. “Given the hydra of hysterical campus activism that … is springing up across the nation,” Breitbart News wrote on November 9, “it’s hard to know where it will end.” (SocietyWatch, January 2016.)

PCG's leader Gerald Flurry then used this quote which was first cited by Morley. Morley receives no credit for this.

Breitbart News wrote on November 9, “Given the hydra of hysterical campus activism that … is springing up across the nation, it’s hard to know where it will end.” But you can know where it will end. This media outlet is cited while discussing the refugee crisis in Germany.

“The Incredible Shrinking Merkel: Sunday’s Elections Could Be the Starting Pistol for Merkel’s Would-be Successors” was one of Breitbart’s headlines after the vote. (Watch Germany!, May-June 2016.)

This media outlet is cited in an article discussing the upcoming local elections in Palestine.

There is another reason to believe the elections will go ahead relatively unhindered. Hamas has said it intends to run technocratic representatives in the elections, rather than its hard-liners. “Hamas already said they wouldn’t run independently, but coalesce with technocrats and local leaders,” commented a worried senior Fatah member to Breitbart News. “[T]hat was always their way to package their merchandise—people can vote for Hamas policies without thinking they’re voting for Hamas.” 

He continued (emphasis added):

They’re experts at it, and they’ve done it with great success in the previous round of local elections when they won virtually every big city, and only after the coup in Gaza the PA disbanded the West Bank municipalities ruled by Hamas. THESE ELECTIONS WILL BE HAMAS’S TICKET BACK TO THE WEST BANK, UNDER THE CLOAK OF LOCAL LISTS THAT WILL IN FACT USHER IN HAMAS’S RELIGIOUS, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. And so it is quite evident that PCG's leaders trust this media outlet and have cited this source to their readers. In the ten years they have quoted them they have never had even one bad word to say about them.

PCG Quoting Glenn Beck

Recently I was listening to a Trumpet Hour broadcast and they ended up talking about Van Jones. And Robert Morley mentioned that Glenn Beck talked about him. That happened back in 2009, seven years earlier.

Although he is far less prominent now since he lost his TV show on Fox News Channel I can well recall the time Glenn Beck arose to prominence. I was recently reminded of those days reading Common Nonsense by Alexander Zaitchik (2010), a critique and biography of him. Among other things he mentions that Beck actually failed to unseat Jones. It was another right wing media outlet, the Gateway Pundit, that succeeded in getting him to resign.

Remembering those days here are the times PCG's writers chose to mention Beck. Indeed they have mentioned him but rather sparsely. Surprisingly only Gerald Flurry and Robert Morley cite Beck. No one else in PCG's writings does so, not even anonymously written articles. Is this an indication that the others in PCG's 1% do not trust Beck as a media source?

Notably Beck is never criticized. This indicates that Beck is trusted by Gerald Flurry, Morley and possibly others within PCG's 1%.

Here are the quotes in which Gerald Flurry and Robert Morley chose to cite Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck began running a television program on CNN Headline News in 2006. PCG's writings first mention him in 2007 in an article by PCG's leader, Gerald Flurry. But he mentions Beck only in order to quote then Israeli opposition leader Netanyahu denouncing Iran. Following Ariel Sharon's stroke in January 2006 Gerald Flurry began to talk favorably of Netanyahu.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the former Israeli prime minister, may be elected again soon. He is saying that we are already in World War III and likens Iran to Germany in 1938, one year before World War II began. 

That is how he evaluates world conditions today. Here is what Netanyahu said when Glenn Beck interviewed him on Nov. 17, 2006: “Iran is Germany, and it’s 1938, except that this Nazi regime that is in Iran, that’s a religious kind of fanaticism, but it wants to dominate the world, annihilate the Jews, but also annihilate America. Remember, we’re the small Satan. You’re the big Satan. … 

“We’re just the first way station en route to you [the U.S.]. So there is this fundament fanaticism that is there. It’s a messianic cult. It’s a religious messianic cult that believes in the Apocalypse, and THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE TO EXPEDITE THE APOCALYPSE TO BRING THE COLLAPSE OF THE WEST” (emphasis mine throughout). Benjamin Netanyahu, the former Israeli prime minister, may be elected again soon. He is saying we are already in World War III, and likens Iran to Germany in 1938, one year before World War II began.

In 2008 Gerald Flurry now quoted Beck himself in connection with the controversy about Jeremiah Wright as part of the build up to the 2008 presidential elections. Here a call to worship a God who loves African Americans is viewed by Flurry in a negative way and seems to be taken too literally.

It should be noted that PCG has a long history of vilifying African Americans. PCG has long taught that African Americans are fated to launch a wave of riots against the white majority in the future. This is PCG's false prophecy of "race war."

Here is what Glenn Beck said on his CNN broadcast, March 19: “In the talking points page of the Trinity Church’s website, Reverend Wright, in his own words, states that the foundation of his beliefs are in systemized black liberation theology and praises James Cone’s book, Black Power and Black Theology. This is what James Cone, the man who Obama’s senior spiritual adviser looks up to and whose ideas he preaches, states as black liberation theology. Listen carefully and please follow along. 

“Quote, ‘Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community. Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in black power which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressers here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.’” 

This is one of the most anti-God, anti-Bible statements I have ever read! The God of the Bible is not about loving black people and hating white people. Christ died for the sins of all humanity. Any Christian should know that. And all humanity is going to be a part of God’s Family, in God’s time frame. Of course, those people who reject that Family will be excluded forever. Note how Flurry uses a right wing source to learn about Obama's (now former) church. Flurry does not appear to have studied that particular church for himself. He is relying on second hand information. Only one other source is cited in this article, namely a New York Times article.

Later in 2008 Gerald Flurry condemned the dismissal of Larry Summers and quoted Beck to denigrate "colleges and universities" as promoting leftist ideas. It should be noted that his organization operates an unaccredited "College" so consequently he has an interest in discouraging his followers from going to those educational institutions outside PCG's control.

In 2005 there was a study where 72 percent of college professors admitted to being liberal. Glenn Beck recently made a statement on CNN where he said, “Most of our colleges and universities are only working to spread the political views of some of their professors.” That’s a very condemning statement, yet it rings true in light of the resignation of Larry Summers. He was forced to resign from his job when even most of the students didn’t want to see him go! Now that is some kind of authority. You wouldn’t call that a democracy, would you? You could call it tyranny by a small group of the faculty. And where is it leading us in our education today? Do we really care? Afterwards Beck left CNN and moved to Fox News Channel with a television program of his starting in January 2009. Beck quickly gained widespread attention for his strident denunciations of the Obama Administration and became a most polarizing figure. At one point he called President Obama a racist and in response a boycott campaign against firms advertising on his television program began leading to many firms boycotting his program.

In April 2010 Robert Morley mentioned Beck as being a man accused by leftists of being close to seditious.

Left-wing political commentators, such as Time columnist Joe Klein, charge that right-wing personalities such as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are close to being seditious—that they are instigating insurrection against the government. (Robert Morley, "Killing for the Greater Good", April 20, 2010.)

Later in the article Morley cites a Wall Street Journal article that mentioned Beck as a firebrand of the right.

On June 30, 2011 the last episode of Glenn Beck on Fox News Channel was broadcast and his television show came to an end and consequently he was now less prominent as a commentator. But Gerald Flurry was still listening to him citing him in a March 2013 article to accuse President Obama of not telling the truth.

When the president was campaigning for a second term, he said, “You may be frustrated sometimes with the pace of change. I’m frustrated too sometimes. But you know where I stand. You know what I believe. YOU KNOW I TELL THE TRUTH.” 

Does the president tell the truth? IS ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION? 

Here is how Glenn Beck responded to the president’s statement: “This is more a judgment on America and the press. I’ve never looked back and marveled at how many people will fall for and accept, knowingly accept, a falsehood. I’ve never seen it before in my life.” 

That is because times are different! None of us has ever seen anything like this before—because something very powerful and absolutely massive happened to this world in 1986. We are now in the advanced stages of the aftermath of that change. (Gerald Flurry, The Hidden Cause of Society’s Deadly Decline, March 2013.)

These words were then used in his booklet, America Under Attack. In that booklet Gerald Flurry accuses President Obama of being influenced by demons and of being an Antichrist like figure he calls "another Antiochus," comparing him to Antiochus Epiphanes and Tkach. This is a vile, superstitious slur.

In August 2014 Morley mentioned Beck when he compared a Canadian reporter as being the Canadian equivalent of Beck. Morley brings up Beck even though it had been three years since his TV program had ended. Clearly Morley views Beck favorably. Morley was discussing clashes in protests about the 2014 war in Gaza.

Much of the rest of Canadian media ignored the story until the Sun’s Ezra Levant (who is similar to America’s Glenn Beck) finally shamed them into reporting the disgusting events—although predictably, they mostly reported on how sorry Saima Jamal said the Palestinian community was that a few people acted inappropriately. And so it is evident that some within PCG's 1% trust Glenn Beck and choose to listen to him. But curiously only Gerald Flurry and Robert Morley have cited him in their writings. This possibly indicates that the others within PCG's leadership are less enthusiastic about him and do not trust him enough to cite him.
