Armstrongite WCG's Demonization of Japan

As noted earlier PCG has long demonized Japan. PCG does so to this day. I had never noticed this racist, xenophobic scare mongering of Japan while I was an Armstrongite who believed that God was with LCG in 2000-8. Where did PCG get this racist paranoia?

From HWA's WCG.

WCG had a long history of fear mongering about Japan as well. This tendency appears to have first began with Garner Ted Armstrong's article "Japan--Future Super Giant!" in the February 1963 issue of The Plain Truth (pp. 3-5, 28-30, PDF pp. 5-7, 30-32).

(Shouldn't the article's title be "Japan--Future Super Power"?)

February 1963 issue.

In this article Garner Ted Armstrong accuses Japan of being fated to enter an alliance with Communist China. He even insinuates that Japan will become a sort of Germany of the East.
Can we really begin to see what is happening in the Orient? Japan is doing, in effect, EXACTLY what Germany is doing in the Common Market. ... Japan [is] surging ahead to capture the leadership in all the Orient. Japan is the ONLY Asiatic nation equipped to provide the industrial know-how and leadership to harness the almost unlimited resources of this neglected, sprawling, unbelievably rich part of the world. ...

Before much longer JAPAN WILL BE AN INDUSTRIAL GIANT IN ASIA THAT WILL BE NEGOTIATING FROM A POSITION OF GREAT STRENGTH WITH THE OTHER GIANTS OF THE WORLD--THE UNITED STATES, RUSSIA, AND UNITED EUROPE! (Garner Ted Armstrong, Japan--Future Super Giant!, Plain Truth, February 1963, p. 30, PDF p. 32.)
And this xenophobic delusion began to be promoted by WCG and it continues to be promoted among the COG splinter groups such as PCG having no regard for Japan's close relations with the United States these many years.

  1. "Japan Super Giant"?

    Nothing was mentioned about China?

One would think that a prophet would have been able to foretell that China would be a super power.

Doesn't seem to have been a peep from the Plain Truth.

And for that matter, Islamic nations were ignored by the Plain Truth and were treated as if they would always be poor and have no influence in the world.

The Plain Truth wasn't really plain nor true.

    Fortunately it no longer exists....

  2. Agreed. That name for the 1963 article is barely coherent.

"Future Super Giant!" What an absurd name for the article.

Why not "Super Power". That would have sounded grammatical at least.
