Remembering Hiroshima
On this day seventy years ago, by order of President Harry S. Truman, the Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima killing thousands of people.
Some of the victims were American prisoners of war.
Many of the victims were children who had nothing to do with the Japanese government's war.
Tragically just before the Enola Gay flew over Hiroshima another American plane flew over Hiroshima, the warning sirens went off and many people fled for shelter. But nothing happened. And the people went back into the open. If that first plane had dropped the atomic bomb the death toll would have been lower than what it was.
Soon afterwards the Enola Gay flew over. There was no warning siren. And it happened.
One particularly harrowing account of that day may be seen in episode four of Days That Shook the World produced by the BBC.
Without question the policies of militarism pursued by the Japanese government up to that day caused innumerable miseries and horrors for many people. Many innocent people were killed by the forces of the Japanese government in that terrible war. Many atrocities were committed by those who served the militaristic regime based in Japan of that time.
But we must face the facts. Many of those who died that day were innocent. Not least the children who died that day.
Some Japanese people opposed the war. Some of those who opposed the war died in that explosion.
A few days later another atomic bomb was detonated on Nagasaki. Historically Nagasaki was the center of Christianity within Japan.
These explosions inflicted severe suffering. It was a most frightening thing for the people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The pain and suffering this caused is beyond comprehension.
And now let us consider how this affected Armstrongism.
HWA and his imitators milked the harrowing suffering of those who endured this to scare people into joining their little groups.
HWA and his imitators threaten that unless you join their little group you will endure what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
HWA and his imitators do so to this day.
They do so even though nothing like that has even happened.
What a desecration of this harrowing event. To exploit the pain and suffering of those who were there in Hiroshima and Nagasaki to scare people into joining a COG group and to get the three tithes is deeply immoral and shameless.
How dare they.
