LCG's Reliance on Arutz Sheva

It was seen in a previous post PCG has often used a media source named Arutz Sheva (Channel Seven), which is sometimes called Israel National News, to support various articles they produce. Arutz Sheva is a media source that caters for national religious Jews in the State of Israel. It must also be reported that LCG also uses Arutz Sheva for their articles. Whenever LCG quotes Arutz Sheva whatever is quoted is repeated at face value. LCG never critically assess what they quote from Arutz Sheva. LCG has not one negative word to say about Arutz Sheva.

Are LCG ministers and members aware of Arutz Sheva's nature? Are they aware of how it refused to broadcast women singing? Would they be concerned if they were aware of this?

Would LCG ministers and members be concerned with a publication that would publish a racist cartoon that portrays President Obama as a shoe shiner?

Would LCG ministers and members be concerned about a publication that would let a man try to religiously blackmail American Jews into moving to the State of Israel?

Persons working for Arutz Sheva have done all these things as seen in a previous post. And yet LCG quotes this media outlet without any hint of hesitation about these things regarding Arutz Sheva. LCG is silently complicit regarding such behavior by Arutz Sheva's writers. And if LCG's writers are ignorant of these things then why is it that they seem so unconcerned about who they are quoting from.

At a recent Jewish Global Forum meeting in Washington, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle stated, “the international community will block Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon… The current Iranian nuclear program represents an enormous danger, not only to Israel but to the region as a whole.” Germany, as a northern European nation, has recently become more outspoken in regard to Iran. Although Mr. Westerwelle advocates more negotiations with Iran, he has clearly stated that there is a limit to Germany’s patience if Iran continues to threaten Israel. He noted, “I want you to know that we will continue to stand by Israel’s side” (Israel National News, May 4, 2012). (Germany & Iranian Nuclear Power, May 16, 2012.)

According to a quietly revealed U.S. plan, the Vatican and an international coalition would control some of Jerusalem’s most holy sites (WorldNetDaily, December 15, 2013). “The exact composition of the international mandate is up for discussion… but [U.S. Secretary of State] Kerry’s plan recommended a coalition that includes the Vatican, together with a group of Muslim countries such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia” (ibid.). The plan, favored by a number of high-ranking Israeli officials, would also designate the Old City of Jerusalem as an international zone (Israel National News, December 15, 2013). (Vatican to Control Jerusalem’s Holy Sites?, December 20, 2013.)

The Muslim Brotherhood holds a historical hatred for Israel. Following his election, Mohammed Morsi (a member of the Brotherhood) promised to respect a long-standing peace treaty with Israel. However, the future of this treaty is questionable after an advisor to Mr. Morsi stated in an interview that within a decade, “There will be no such thing as Israel” (Israel National News, January 2, 2013). He noted that the region of Israel would again be Palestine and that “Jewish occupiers” are now “an obstacle to the Palestinians’ right of return” (ibid.). (Egypt's Increasingly Anti-Jewish Attitudes, January 21, 2014.)

In a recent interview with Al-Ahram, Egyptian president al-Sisi commented “We are ready to send military forces into a Palestinian state… We would help the local police and reassure the Israelis through our role as guarantor. Not forever, of course but for the time necessary to re-establish confidence. But first a Palestinian state must exist where troops can be sent to” (Israel National News, November 24, 2014). (Egypt to Lead in the Holy Land?, December 3, 2014.)

Germany has approved the delivery of the fifth of six promised submarines to Israel—amid claims that the sub will be outfitted with nuclear weapons... The six submarines ordered by Israel several years ago have been and are being built by the German shipyard HDW in Kiel. Four submarines have already been delivered to Israel; the last one, the INS Tanin, was handed over to Israel last September. Vice Admiral Ram Rotberg said at the time that it ‘can dive deeper, go farther for a longer time and can operate at a level we have not seen until today’” (Arutz Sheva, April 13, 2015). “Spiegel has quoted former Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak as saying that Germans should be ‘proud’ that they have secured the existence of the state of Israel ‘for many years’” (ibid.). (German Support of Israel Increases, April 22, 2015.)

“In the April 12 edition of the Jordanian daily Al-Dustour, columnist Maher Abu Tair sheds light on what he calls the ‘sad’ contemporary situation in which the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan finds itself. He accuses Arab countries of turning their backs on Jordan and abandoning it, pushing Jordan totally into Israel’s economic and political lap” (Israel National News, April 27, 2015). “The naked truth is that Jordan no longer has any Arab allies, and today its only ally against the entire Arab east is Israel. If the Arabs had wanted a strong Jordan that did not throw itself at Israel, they would not have abandoned it economically and besieged it politically to the point that its foreign policy became fickle” (ibid.). “It is saddening to see that Jordan’s only option today is to its West [meaning Israel]. We don’t know who to blame [for this]” (ibid.). (Future of Israel and Jordan, May 15, 2015.)

And so the list of quotes of LCG citing Arutz Sheva comes to an end.

So the evidence is clear. LCG quotes Arutz Sheva. Not once have they criticized anything that they quoted from Arutz Sheva. LCG trusts Arutz Sheva.
