Gerald Flurry Obliquely Quoting 1975 in Prophecy

Gerald Flurry quotes HWA's booklet, 1975 in Prophecy. Gerald Flurry does not want his readers wonder why HWA wrote a booklet entitled 1975 in Prophecy so Flurry simply says the words were written in 1956.

Mr. Armstrong wrote in 1956 about the Communists “perverting our morals, sabotaging our educational system, wrecking our social structure, destroying our spiritual and religious life, weakening our industrial and economic power, demoralizing our armed forces, and finally, after such infiltration, overthrowing our government by force and violence! All this clearly disguised as a harmless political party! Communism is a worldwide psychological warfare!” (Gerald Flurry, The Roots of America’s Dangerous Turn Left, January 2016, pp. 7-8.)

 These words are from HWA's booklet, 1975 in Prophecy.

It's a kind of warfare we don't understand, or know how to cope with. It uses every diabolical means to weaken us from within, sapping our strength, perverting our morals, sabotaging our educational system, wrecking our social structure, destroying our spiritual and religious life, weakening our industrial and economic power, demoralizing our armed forces, and finally, after such infiltration, overthrowing our government by force and violence! All this, cleverly disguised as a harmless political party! COMMUNISM is world - wide psychological WARFARE! (HWA, 1975 in Prophecy, 1956, p. 4.)

Of course Flurry does not want potential recruits to know that HWA taught from 1953 onward that Christ would return in 1975 after the Great Tribulation began in 1972.
